Angel Legion

Angel Legion

TL;DR

All things considered, I would call this an above-average example of the Idle-RPG genre with everything being at least standard if not a step or two better and it has the bonus of being the rarer sci-fi flavor instead of the over-done generic fantasy setup.

First up, it’s a “Gacha” game ported from mobile, so you can expect the usual microtransactions and ‘gambling-like’ tricks. A lot of them are absurdly priced, but there are a few more like ‘battle-pass’ or monthly subscriptions with reasonable enough returns to tempt the more thrifty-minded, not to mention a lot of periodic events that give extra rewards for buying and using the premium currency.

As a casual gacha this is actually a great game. You can be done with your dailies in under an hour then check back one or twice to do map exploration and collect resources or update your production queues. It doesn’t control your time.

Graphics are also actually really good, the girls are pretty in a simple way, AND you can even customize their look with face sliders (for the higher tier ones) and fashion. Overall, it has a lot of great features on top of the usual gacha game features – one of the best I’ve played in look, feel, features, and story.

build your base, level your king, take people’s gold.. seems simple enough but smooth gameplay, decent graphics, events and tons of unlockable things make this super addictive.

you can easily play for free but i would still reccomend spending $5-10 early on to get a bundle of extra attack slot, extra spell slot, extra worker and the worker/gem bundle. they only offer it early on so don’t wait on that… also if you have friends playing it u can only use friend codes before level 10 i believe to get all the free currency from that.

Many upgradable and customizable things. It has much depth.

Gameplay seems simple in earlygame, but should be okay in endgame.

P2W? Well, you can use gems for almost everything, but you can earn gems for free (events, tournaments, random rolls etc…), and what you can do with gems won’t affect gameplay, except some extra spell you can cast by spending gems.

Purchasing gems is very expensive and i doubt a rich person would spend so much to cast many spell. And gems you earn for free are enough to cast spells,

Its hard to say anything bad about this game. At first I looked over it and thought “Well this is going to be dumb, there’s no way they’ll be able to expectations with what they say they’re making.” I saw it a week or so later and took another look. Thought to myself okay, lets check this out. It’s reviews, mostly positive, it’s a cool idea. Let’s look it up. Watched some videos on-line and saw the magic. This is one of those games that yes, it is early access and it shows. There’s a lot planned but not in yet. Totally understood. Bought it. Started it up, the whole virtual desktop for starters was a really cool thing to see, I’ve never seen a game with anything like that just for a main menu. Used the Discord link on it and joined the group. I can say honestly, after joining that group my worries dissipated. This game is something so unique and so amazing I can’t say I’ve ever played anything like it. There is so much in the pipeline for it it’s hard to imagine it ever being complete. With such a active developer though who actually listens to their community and adds stuff based upon what players want its impressive. The community alone is enough to make playing/buying this game worth it. For what this game offers at this early stage as well it is so much fun. So yes, is there negatives to it such as a lack of overall content, yes! Yes there is! For what there is though you have so many fun hours of play ahead of you. The amount of development from the one full developer on the game is absolutely mind-blowing as well. Use the test branch of this game, and you’ll see. Even if there is just a lot of little updates this game is constantly receiving updates and fixes. This is not one of those games that makes it to early access takes people’s money and dies off. This truly is something special. I know I am rambling here and repeating myself a lot but if you actually take the time to read this, do yourself a favor, look it up online watch a video or two on it. Take a chance, if you like tycoons and mmorpgs I promise this game is what you’re looking for. The best part, if there is something you’d want to see in the game. Drop it in the community Discord, the developer, Trevor, will see it and comment back on it. To give an idea, I suggested a hide ui feature added. Something small simple whatever not really necessary right? What happened? 2 hours later it was functional in-game. This is a game by a developer who actually cares and isn’t here just to make a quick dollar. This is just such an underrated game for the magic it truly is.

If I remember correctly, this would be the first review for a game in which I will try to properly make. With that being said, it should be noted that since this is a review, I believe, it should be taken subjectively for it illustrates my experiences and opinions.

Well, what can be said of MMORPG TYCOON 2?

1. The Game:

From what I’ve gathered, it’s a neat little game in which the player (You!) are tasked with developing, to some extent, of course, a Medieval / Fantasy MMORPG of your liking, i.e.: with your own quests, classes, spells and locations, to name a few. In essence, you can create your own miniature version of WoW or the like.

POWER

POWER

I recommend this game but there are some major things missing from it.

Missing from international diplomacy:

-Sanctions

-Illegal annexations

-Proxy-wars (non-declared wars)

-Any international punishment system VIA the UN at all (that has been demonstrated)

-International court/UN positions that manage world politics

-smaller countries (Belgium, Netherlands, Ireland, Korea(s)) that don’t necessarily play a roll in world politics as heavily as the current nations

-secession (though that may be hard to do)

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m enjoying my time with this game so far. But I would NOT recommend it to anyone. Unless you have very specific interests in you game mostly involving chatting on Discord apparently. I’m having fun bumbling through and clicking around and being sort of a maverick. But honestly the community seems REALLY toxic (as you might expect) and overall this game is just not what I thought it would be. I’m just playing every free game I can get my hands on right now until Cyberpunk 2077 comes out, cause I’m SOOO bored of everything else I own right now. If you’re in a similar boat, or feel like toxic discord servers are where you thrive, give the game a try then.

the rest of the game is great but can’t reccomend till journey mode is finishable

also for those crying pay to win… have you played edgeworld, by kabam? no? then you likely don’t know pay to win. this game is at worst pay to catch up. .

I cannot recommend this game. I’ve been playing this game for a awhile and no official annoucements since Dec 2019. I’ve been waiting for the game to finish it’s journey mode, I cannot exploe more than 93% of the map. No one answers any posted questions so I figure this game is in maintience mode and not being worked on. No updates in nearly a year, and during a pandemic, no word form a dev on Steam (although I saw someone responding to people in the Google store, I’ll wait around til Halloween and if no annoucements for an event come up or no Halloween event then I’ll seriously consider putting this game down.

edit: 12/25/2019

After 30+ days for me & hundreds of hours later this has shown itself to be entirely focused on the p2w players. All f2p mechanics are only in game to convince players to spend money somewhere down the road.

On Festus 4, the Steam server, many p2w players are now crying that the richest player on the server is a cheater because he spends more money than them and they say they are sending tickets to the Dev’s because its “not fair or fun”. Boo Hoo!! LoL.

These are the p2w players acting like this, aw shucks. I shed a tear, really.

First game to fly in the face of the Skull 4 the Skull throne event, since this has been running on steam, every warhammer based game has given away free or heavily discounted content expanding their game, this game decided to add a bundle which granted was worth it on heavy discount but also an event to “honour” the skull god by making the win only possible by spending large volumes of cash.

It flies in the face of the whole Skulls for the Skull Throne idea, you can’t point this out to the developers tho, like on their discord, or they threaten to mute you in the beginning the game was really good and not too cash grabby and the devs gave loads away for free to help the community, then the whales started crying about boredom cause they had bought their way to the top in a few short months and the devs answered this problem 1st by giving them pay events only they could win which increased in time and then merging servers to feed F2P players to the P2W folks for scores.

So long story short: Stay as far away as you can. All the devs care for is quick ways to grab money. The recent “fixes” all did one thing- they made the game harder and impossible for anyone not spending a fortune (and I’m talking 5 digits here) in the long term. You will have some early success and than you will hit a brick wall, that gets higher and higher and higher.

When I started the game, it was already pay to win, but in a fair kind of way. You had lots of activities to participate in- sure without spending reaching the top is nearly impossible, but you could enjoy the game.

DO NOT PLAY THE STEAM VERSION!

If you want to play the game, do so on the Kongregate website. (I am not discussing the P2W aspect here).

I have 2 accounts, Steam and Kongregate, I started both on the same day, both are Rank 45 and League 13, I have spent equal ammount of money on both. The ammount of rewards, events and deals the Kongregate account gets compared to the Steam account is ridiculous!

The Kongregate Account got 4 days ago the “incredible summon” event, buy 10 chests and you get a legendary chest (containing best cards in game) for free, today again the same event. The Steam account didn’t get such an event at all.

Bdo is probably one of the best if not the best mmo I have seen and its a one time pay game, no monthly subscription required. There is pay for convenience, however its not required and very much a choice. You don’t have to pay to enjoy the game and since your often getting it for free or only paying 1$ for the game since its constantly on sale. So paying slightly extra for something is not all that big a deal if your used to other mmo.

Financial stuff out of the way I have probably never play a game with a more enjoyable combat system aside from Monster Hunter World. Which you can’t really pvp in. Like any game there is some amount of toxic pvp, but ftm part its not that big an issue. Guilds and parties make the game fun to play with friends or just go adventuring in parties, doing quests/dungeons. Its has world bosses, a rewarding lvl system and you can get burned out if you go too hard trying to progress in the game. I personally switch to life skilling when I want to relax an not put in any effor which allows you to still progress in the game.

Real player with 17075.8 hrs in game

Overall rating - [4/10] - The game has massive potential but currently its just not there yet, get it on a free-to-keep special event or on a 5$ sale and sit on the game for a bit.

Pros_

-You can cop it for like 5$ on sales

-6 year old game with better graphics than current year mmo’s

-Best combat system out of any mmo hands down

-Open world with great scenery

-There’s forced PvP (you can flag up and attack anyone above lvl 56 outside of safe zone)

City of Ages: Picture Supportive Text MUD (server and client included)

This MUD is set in a post-apocolyptic world. Many different areas to explore, real time roulette, level approriate quests, 5 different clans and many hidden areas. I found more aggro mobs than were here when I played many years ago but that’s ok, keeps me on my toes. I noticed the soothsayers are gone which is a bit disapointing, but Bertha is still in her cage. Houses are available for sale, as are spaceships which you can fly to other worlds. I’ve been playing for almost 2 weeks and am close to level 25. This is thanks to the armageddon feature which awards players for their kills in a certain amount of time. I do recommend this game to veteran and new players. Make MUDs Great Again!!

Real player with 3084.4 hrs in game

never really got into MUDs before, but I am absolutely loving this game!

the game balances exploration and combat perfectly. it also does a very fine job of keeping things fresh, the amount of emotes one can choose from is almost overwhelming realistic-like seriously, players can select from more emotes than I’ve ever expressed in my actual life. really dig the environment as a whole.

overall this game is very entertaining and possibly addicting. i plan on getting this for a couple of my friends for the holidays.
