Key To Heaven
Truly a terrific oldschool 2D MMORPG experience! I played a ton of Illutia, RuneScape, Ragnorak and Tibia growing up and if you enjoyed those then you will adore this!
The developer consistently updates the game, interacts with the community, and responds to feedback. The small but passionate community create a warm sense of nostalgia, always happy to offer assistance. I expected to play a few hours to satisfy a nostalgic itch but can’t get enough!
Building your character provides freedom as there are no class restrictions, I chose to build a tank support Wisdom Mage. There are a variety of quests and puzzles that will have you exploring this charming world for hours on end. With four large islands, a vast ocean and other locations to traverse and discover with more on the way. You can get access to more power through the ‘Seraph/Rebirth’ system that allows you to reset to level 1 with extra stats, as well as try out other classes with an advantage!

Reformers Intl Ver(变革者国际版)
The game is more retro, although the picture is very ordinary, but there are many small eggs. Personally, I prefer this kind of game without hints to fumble on my own. Suggestions 1. Increase the minimap 2. Keyboard shortcut 3. I want to see the number of people online.

Ryzom
(Just a note, Steam has the dates messed up because I had a previous review that I deleted. This review was actually posted on March 23 and has no relation to the previous review from January.)
Ryzom is a frustrating game for me.
This game is very, very flawed even just with its game design. There are bugs all over that need to be fixed, new player experience is atrocious with almost none of the game’s mechanics explained properly, the game’s engine is archaic, and a lot of its design is of questionable merit. There’s even some serious problems with racism and ableism in this game, plus the most absurdly sexualized costumes I’ve ever seen for female medium armor. Yet, in spite of all that, it really can be a very, very enjoyable game once you slog through learning all the mechanics. I genuinely like the core gameplay, as you can clearly see from my play time, which is actually at least a couple hundred hours less than my actual play time. I’ve had a lot of fun with this game.

Ryzom is 12 years old and it shows. The game is beyond stable. (I don’t know if Steam supports it, but the game works great on Mac and Linux in addition to Windows.) I haven’t had any crashes in over 250 hours of play. The character/mob models look clunky and the landscape polygons seem over large by 2016 standards, but the game is colorful and vibrant. My 6 year old computer handles the highest settings just fine with FPS to spare. The community is the most mature, helpful and pleasant I’ve ever seen (and I’ve played 30+ MMOs in the last 20 years).

Avalon: Sacred Crusade
“Beware the schemes of mortal men. For all the shortness of their lives, they lust to leave their mark. Before this hubris, even the Gods can be tumbled.” - Merlin the Outcast
To some, Avalon is an idea, a myth, an ideal, perfection; it is a place outside of time or space, an eternal edifice. To others, it is home. The Avalonians share much with Humanity, but one cannot remain in Avalon for long without becoming something… else. Long ago, in the forgotten age of The Migration, the Covenant was formed: the bridges between realms would be closed.
Their greatest criminals, however, continued to be cast out forever to languish in the mundane realm. Some lived as Oracles, Saints, or Wizards. Others we remember in legends of darkness: Sorcerers, Shapeshifters, Blood-drinkers, scattered across time.
Now though, the realms grow close once again, the veil between them weakening by unknown machinations. The Grail has been stolen, and without it, evils long buried are rising in ever greater numbers. The call to battle has gone out for the first time in this age, and many have answered it. These new defenders of the ancient Covenant must not fail, for the fate of both realms now hangs in the balance.
A Blast From the Past
Return to an era before all stats were homogenized into just health and mana. Avalon: Sacred Crusade takes heavy inspiration from popular RPG titles of the 1990s and features rich character customization that allows you to select your character’s origin, attributes, spells, and equipment.
No easy recoveries or quick wins here. Deal with a classic death penalty system where you drop your items on the ground and need to retrieve them. Experience what it was truly like to play early MMORPGs and graphical MUDs.
You may choose to adventure alone, however, the game features a robust party system which allows up to six players to work together in the same group. For the best experience, bring your friends - or make new ones in the game!
An Authentic Retro Experience
Listen to classic 16-bit Sound Blaster effects while you slash away at pre-rendered 2D sprites. You can experience all of this without the usual hassle of running a retro game on a modern system. Avalon: Sacred Crusade will run on any DirectX 10 capable PC!

Played enough to write an honest unbiased review. The game is p2w and heavily pay for convenience. Let me tell you why. Current max level in this game is 30, you get 3 bag SLOTS upon finishing all 3 quests, 1 per quest. If you take up crafting which is a must for endgame because you have to craft your gear to progress to the hardest dungeons - there goes damn near all your space right there from crafting materials. They force all these “extra” things that take up space down your throat in an attempt to force you to buy space. You may say, “well, what’s the harm in that? they have to make money somehow!?”

This is a pixel survival crafting RPG. It has quests, weapons, armour crafting, boss fights and zones with leveling segments.
I’ve played this game for just about two weeks now and I found the game to be endlessly frustrating. This game is quite boring. It has a never ending loop of the same music that plays on and on forever, only ever changing for boss fights and caves.
Most of the people in the game are quite friendly but unless you are max level, nobody will want to group up with you to do any of the mid-tier boss fights and dungeons. I found this to be quite annoying because certain quests cannot be turned in without completing them at least once.

Warspear Online
EDIT: Game is still good, they are adding new content, it became a LITTLE easier to find friends and guilds, but its still mostly people who know eachother and it will be hard if you start anew but it is possible.
Things arent overpriced anymore and its not that hard to grind gear and stuff anymore (It is hard, but not as hard as before, because with addition of new content you can make some nice gold)
Players started realizing how it is and are helping A LITTLE bit more, at least on US and EU servers where i play, i cant speak for others.

Highly recommend this game if you are into mmorpgs, it had received an award for the best mobile MMO RPG game in 2015.
The gameplay itself is very attractive with its 2D top down view and the artwork of the characters, gear and locations. It can be considered similar to Runescape and World of Warcraft.
Characters can be chosen from 4 different factions, Forsaken, Mountain clan, Chosen and Elves. Each faction has 4 different heroes to choose from which range from supports, damagers and defence heroes. Each faction starts at their own first map and after completing the quests in all zones you will proceed to the second map. The factions will then merge but into two. The chosen and elves and then the Mountcain clan and Forsaken. This map will have many quests, bosses and dungeons to complete until you proceed to the next map Ayvoldil where you will proceed to level up your character more.

I have more than 300 hours of gameplay and I came here to talk about the game: (version 3.2)
Good stuff:
1. Totally free to play so far
2. Interesting and challenging missions.
3. Interesting magic system
4. Rare items and difficult to obtain.
5. Interesting Pvp
Problems:
1. Poor balance Some classes are better than others.
2. Toxic community and many racist people … for you to have an idea the developers will remove the monkey mob from the game because of that.
3. Bad market system (can improve many things)

Aberoth
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting a different result.”
Aberoth is what I like to describe as a hardcore PVP “grind” type of MMO, where your “results” are not guaranteed to come to fruition, or even acknowledged. Your very presence matters in this game, with a limited number of realms to house players in, you become a contender of resources, whether you are a new player or very seasoned at that- as this is what this game is- a game of containers and resources, where every mob and every instance of a possible resource being contested at any given moment.

WOW. The Steam Community completely failed this game. This is the reason these games don’t exist - you try to make a game that does new things, and the gamers flood in, play for 10 minutes, then stamp a negative review on a game they shouldn’t have been playing anyway. Why would you play a game you’re conceptually opposed to, and not willing to learn? You were told from the start that this game has open PvP and stiff penalty for death. If you can’t stomach that, why are you here? That’s a freaking core game mechanic! Why kill progress for a niche group who desperately wants something like this to grow? At least 90% of the games out there are happy to cater to your childish mentality, where death means nothing more than a free teleport back to town and fully restored health.
