Xsyon - Prelude
Long time player’s review of Xsyon
Buy To Play No Sub - I say this here because a lot of people do not understand this.
This game has been in early access for 10 years. It’s been worked on by pretty much 1 person for that long, before early access they had a team but they seem to have cut that down since releasing it into early access.
I’ve played this game a lot. There are 2 servers PVP and PVE. PVP server is pretty much dead and really no reason to play on it as it does not have anything that would support PVP play.

THis isn’t a game that has you learning everything in a couple of hours. This game is a GRINDER. IF you want to buy it make sure you realise that you need to put some work into it to enjoy it. It’s NOT for people who have no paitence.
Read the latest reviews. Players who have invested more than a couple of hours into this game come to realise how enjoyable it is. The screenshots show what you can achieve but that won’t happen in a couple of hours. Maybe a couple of days or three if you join an active tribe or put in the work.

Zero-based World-从零开始
first of all try to ignore most of the negative chinese reviews, nearly all of them didn´t even play longer than an hour
i mean it´s an “survival” game where you can tame monsters and stuff, how are you supposed to review something complex when you haven´t even walked 5 meter
no damn survival game is fun in the begining, the fun starts after you figured out how to use your brain
So i started to play again after few months have passed and since we are still are anticipating the english release.

Boundless
3500+ hours in and counting… I think that means I like it! lol
Edit: Over 6000 hours now and still love it!
Don’t feel like reading? Consider checking out my video describing Boundless in broad strokes ^^
The Game is officially released but is still being developed!
Like any good MMO the game is still being added to, balanced, and improved upon. Updates oscillate from going to the public test severs one week and then to the live servers normally the next week so that 1-2 updates come to the live servers each month.

Edit: I’m adding a new review now that I’ve been putting this game on hold/maintenance mode, as I’ve reached my endgame in terms of content (highest tier gear, comfortable in terms of economy, and having a base i’m satisfied with). My old review is still available below.
At the time of writing (9 Jul 2021), the devs hasn’t communicated anything for several months now, and there’s no news about the latest update (nor is there any significant update). I’ve put the game down for about 3 months now. However, the servers are still up and the players are still playing (although to my knowledge the player count is getting smaller), which is questionable for an MMO.

Life is Feudal: Your Own
In one sentence: After three years this game is a spectacular monument to failure.
Played this game from the time it was first released as an early access game on steam up to the current date. Over this period I experienced first hand how it was evolving and where it was going. Played on public servers as well as on my own server. At times it replaced my real life which is sad to be honest.
I really liked this game because it had lot of potential. However it seems that after every update it became worse and worse. I was hoping the devs would first adress the issues of the game in order for every asset to be functional. I was reporting bugs, errors, malfunction and hoped that with the next update it would be fixed. But no. It never happened. Instead each update brought assets to the Clusterfuck and with that came more issues.

I absolutely love this game. I am on a non PVP server and we are usually close to full every evening. I was unsure about the game the first hour or so. I’m used to Rpg’s where you wander around killing stuff to level up and craft when you get tired of leveling. This game is completely different. It’s all about building and crafting. It’a about wandering around a beautiful country looking for the things you need to make food, tools, armor, houses, keeps, weapons…basically anything and everything.

THE SKIES
After having played for quite some time, the game really grew on me! I’m having a great time traveling the wasteland and looting, hunting monsters, and building up my clan, as well as questing. Now for the pros and the cons:
Pros:
The graphics are pretty nice. The wasteland vibe is pretty well embodied by the setting and types of equipment you can use.
There are quite a few types of weapons to choose from at this time, though I wish there were more.
There are vehicles. You get a motorcycle early game, so traveling doesn’t take forever.

First of all you’ll see I’ve put in several hours already, most of these negative reviews played for 10-30 minutes at most. Definitely needs some work, AI isn’t very smart, bit buggy and some FPS issues. But after playing for a few hours it’s kind of grown on me. The robust crafting system and funny moments in quests add good flavor. For a free game it’s got potential.

Wurm Unlimited
11/10 Would milk male Bison again.
Wurm….oh where do I start??!?
So, I’ve played Wurm Online (The MMO version of WU) And have had Amazing stories in the living, breathing world. Good and bad, of course. Was it worth it though? Yes…So much yes. Especially with the friends I made. (hey! :D)
If you’ve played the game,.. Well, WU is basically WO…With full customization at our control.
Wurm is a Sandbox….For me, it’s “THE” Sandbox. And now that it’s released it’s own stand-alone version, where I can mod the game to my liking, It’s trully - Finally - The game i’ve been waiting for.

First of all, I changed my review from negative. Why was it negative in the first place? Well… I won’t comment on the UI or graphics, these you get used to in an hour. I won’t comment on lack of sane controls because you can set up key bindings in a way that you don’t need the context menus at all (it will take you 8+ hours of trial and error to understand what you want, but still). What I will comment on are first few days of the game. Those will kill you! Will make no sense whatsoever! The crafting will feel restricted, has not much to do with what you know from real life. The steep learning curve everyone talks about is just an unfamiliar set of recipes that are supposed to force players to socialize and buy resources from each other (e.g. you need metal or specialised tool to make virtually anything, even if it doesn’t need those in real life) as well as to prevent so called grievers from creating tons of disposable characters just to spoil someone’s fun. That last one is why they made the experience so hard and it’s one of developers' conscious decisions. I hate it. I think there are better solutions. It makes the player feel useless. It makes gameplay a grind and a chore. Game would gain a lot if it was dealt with differently. And the combat system? Oh, man… It’s unbalanced, it’s melee weapons oriented, it’s unrealistic in it’s attempt to be deep. There’s only one ranged weapon (a bow: short, normal or long) and it’s not only silly in the ways of physics (like a minimal distance to shoot) but also greatly underpowered (took you two days to fully train on a practice target? - great! - now use ~60 arrows to kill anything even though in real life you’d only need one). Unarmed fighting is useless, you have to run from any kind of enemy, including cats and birds. For first few months you can’t ride a horse (because apparently your whole life in the rural medieval times didn’t teach you anything) or sneak around (because, once again, grievers). Your mileage may vary from server to server but this is what vanilla feels like.

AfterTheCloud
The Story
After a pandemic decimated the world, destroying businesses and governments, conflict, hatred and fear increased year after year. A new World War began – people had had enough of the fighting and arguments and wanted an end to it all.
The Year is 2050. After a pandemic decimated the world, destroying businesses and governments, conflict, hatred and fear increased year after year.
A new World War began – people had had enough of the fighting and arguments and wanted an end to it all.
The missiles flew. People hid. The missiles landed, destroying city and city.
And then it stopped. Suddenly. Missiles stopped mid-air, vapourized by some unknown force.
Military forces around the world claimed innocence.
No-one knew what happened.
And then they arrived.
Gameplay
AfterTheCloud is a third-person open world RPG. As the player, your mission is to explore the world and solve the mystery of what the alien invaders are trying to achieve.
Starting out in the wastelands, you travel across a range of environments from destroyed cities, abandoned towns and rural forests, searching for clues and finding other survivors to help you.
The game is heavily story-driven, drawing inspiration from HG Wells' War of the Worlds, as well as classic post-apocalyptic RPGs such as Wasteland (1988).
Combining puzzle solving and a traditional shooter/looter, AfterTheCloud has elements to entertain any type of player - whether you like shooting aliens, or just solving a complex mystery.
Will To Live Online
It’s like DayZ mixed with Vanilla WoW. When a player dies, they don’t lose their character which is awesome, giving the game an RPG-feel which many survival games fail to give. Having different unique classes, experience points, skill points and talents also makes this game a bit different from other survival games that I’ve played. Still… bullets hurt and even the highest level players are not invincible gods.
Pros:
- The game is difficult to the point of frustration at times, making the game hardcore as hell.

I’ve just picked this game up and I’d like to give it a honest review.
To be honest, when I first launched the game, I wasn’t expecting much, given it’s an indie with a very small $14.99 price tag. And boy was I wrong! Considering I am a big Metro / S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fan, from the first moments of gameplay, I felt right at home.
Firstl of all, as someone who’s been to the Ukraine before, I immediately admired the authenticity of post-Soviet era surroundings.
Gameplay felt good and graphics were pretty. Well, almost pretty. The character models and animations looked pretty crappy and unpolished and character creation seemed pretty bad. However, given this game is in its Alpha state, I have good hopes for the developers to introduce better models, animations and a more feature-rich character creator.

Gloria Victis: Medieval MMORPG
IMPORTANT FOR POTENTIAL BUYERS :
Don’t let yourself be fooled by “the average steam review” rating, a lot of positive reviews come from players with 60 hours or even less (surely not enough to really see all the mechanics of the game, let alone fully understand them and see all the flaws), I’ve also seen a lot of negative reviews “mysteriously disappear”.
I’m fairly convinced that the right “average steam review” rating for this game should be “Mixed” or even lower.
PROS :
-It has (HAD imho) a huge potential, could have been a gaming milestone in the hands of a better development team

Basic Review
-
The devs seem competent, as proven by the fact that they made a game in Unity that could have smooth large battles of ~200 players at the same battle site, even if the battle site is a castle!
-
The devs either lack experience at managing an MMO or they want to manage their MMO the way they do. Specifically; a) the game is borderline pay2win and may become more so in the future, b) when a studio is making money from a cash shop and not the content of the game, we end up with an MMO that lacks content. Unless future expansions are also buy2play (GW2 model), then Gloria Victis will end up like SWTOR. That said, the game for the time period I played it (December 18 - August 19) received multiple content additions, c) some items at the cash shop (specifically the nation transfers) create problems for the community and balancing between nations.

Wurm Online
The hours in kind of speak for themselves here…. so I’ll pro and con this….
pros:
You can modify everything in the game visually. If you don’t like the mountain, you can mine it down to the ocean level and turn it into a lake. If you don’t like the lake you can back fill it to become a mountain. You can make a lotr moria style underground mine city, a king arthur style castle, a church, a whatever you want.
There are no classes, you are what you decide to do. Want to make armour? You skill it up, be it cloth robe mage armour, leather armour, chain mail, full plate, dragon armour, ect. You want it better? Improve it yourself or take it to someone who is proficient in making said armour. Same with weapons, making bows, arrows, houses, fences, gardens.

I’ve played this game for 10+ years prior to it’s introduction to the Steam Community.
Let me first start by saying this game is not for everyone!
Wurm Online is a very slow paced game, it is best paired with someone to talk to, Netflix or another task. You will spend time and real effort into everything you do in Wurm and is not for the faint of heart in this manner.
If you are hoping or expecting anything to be quickly achieved or obtained in Wurm Online, this already is not the game for you!
