Distant Dials

Distant Dials

Distant Dials is a science-fiction MUSH (multi-user shared hallucination). It’s a multiplayer game requiring the player to create parts of the experience with others.

Distant Dials is a game relying on dialogues taking place in 2875. The player is a human who shall through discussions with others or with an IA, understand his current state and the state of mankind in this era. He will maybe reach another level of understanding allowing dialogues with 9 other players on issues of the past leading to where humanity is right now.

Reign of Darkness

Disclaimer: I have over 255+ hours into this game and truly enjoyed this passion project. I have been power leveled, done countless dungeon grinds, tanked, dps, healed in groups. This is a critical review from an experienced player who has taken a 5+ month break and come back with a fresh character. I have also supported the developer by purchasing in game items.

As of 10/16/2020 I could not recommend this game to any new player. Between the not so friendly leveling experience to low player base. This group centric game just misses out on the party experience. There are not many active players to support leveling from 1 to 100,to even consider leveling with others, via a dungeon. Plus there is not even enough quests/mobs in the world (Outside dungeons) to get you to 100, if you went solo.

AS OF 12/14/2020

As Ive played this over the year I had grown blind to what this game offers and ignored red flags with the games developments over the span of my playtime. Currently the devs are working hard on the game to push out lots of content rather than balancing and bug fixing. As more Content is released the less polished the game looks from when I first started playing with fresh Awe-struck eyes.

The quests are dull, unoriginal, and lazy, with the dialogue for them being the most bland and uninteresting I’ve ever come across in an mmo. The newest quest additions become a game of “Where’s Waldo”, looking for a hidden object in the open world. These quests tell no story and seem to be there just to be there so they can advertise “Many quests” When in reality there are no more than 35ish lackluster/ boring quests in general. Lore and story are no where in sight and tells no actual story as of right now.

Rock Paper Sock

Rock Paper Sock

This is such a charming game, you can explore an enviroment as an adventurer and fight using rock paper scissors which is hilarious! The characters are adorable and the game was really relaxing and chill. It is a bit of a grindy game so it was perfect to listen to a podcast or lecture in the background while playing this :)

An MMO in a SokPop universe could be something special and that is coming from someone who wasted over $100 on their half-baked games, but instead, I just had the most uneventful 7 hours of my life. I probably could enjoy the game if it had at least a few more basic features beyond just trading hits and increasing flat stats, with so many characters in the SokPop catalogue, you would think some of them could be made into quest givers and enemies. The only cool thing about the gameplay is that loot table is based on what the enemy is wearing, so if they have a weapon in hand or an armour, they can drop it as loot. Beyond the lack of RPG features like stores and quests, the game has some technical and design problem, such as not being able to press letter C, additionally, the enemies can get stuck on terrain making them immortal.

Streamer Dancefloor

This is so cool and I still haven’t scratched the surface of fully utilizing it. I was lucky enough to be part of the beta and it’s been a staple part of my stream ever since. All of the avatars, dances, animations and effects for donations and bits gives a whole new incentive for interactivity for my viewers. Along with multiple saveable camera angles, the ability to green screen it and customizing your backgrounds with jpg or video keeps things from looking static. Diverse with customizable entrance/exit points, easily edit where people dance. The integration with Twitch and Streamlabs is quick and easy and I’ve yet to run into any issues. The support for this has been amazing as well with fast updates and patches withing hours of reporting an issue, few as theres needed to be.

Absolute must for any DJ/Musical Artist doing a livestream! Saw this on Stickybuds' stream and immediately bought to implement into mine. Crazy fun and boosts stream engagement tenfold. Also has a super easy to use interface and the application itself is highly customizeable. The dev also has a bunch of video tutorials on their website which make setting it up a breeze. 10/10 would hiiiiighly recommend!

Legends of IdleOn - Idle MMO

DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME. THE DEV IS EXTREMELY MENTALLY UNSTABLE.

EDIT 2: Okay so just a heads up. The Dev (LavaFlame2) is extremely extremely fragile and if you leave a bad review and finds out who you are he will ban you on everything he possibly can and all your friends. After i spoke to him on discord he then blocked me. Banned me from the discord and sub Reddit and then banned all of my guild members. He took this review very personally and now attacked me and my friends because i gave my honest thoughts about the game and how i feel about it in its current state. Dev has been late with every single update he has ever released is usually on holiday not actually working on developing the game unfortunately. Make sure not to spend money on the game as odds are he will be giving up developing this game very soon (just like his last games he has done the exact same thing with).

First, let me start off by saying that I am having fun in the game. I am. However, the game has a lot of issues which means people who traditionally enjoy Idle Games… probably aren’t going to have much fun.

An Idle game, traditionally, relies on a specific gameplay loop. If it gets this loop correct, players become hooked. Not a lot of idle games get this gameplay loop correct.

What is that loop?

1. Lots of easy levels in the early game.

2. Each new system introduced is a new avenue for gaining power and clearing gameplay.

Dragon And Home

Dragon And Home

A game built to desire the hungry fiends awaiting Hytale. In it’s early stages it has compromise, aspiration, beauty.

Those not worthy to grind, shall formally fall under as “lackluster and lazy” those who do not aspire to strive as well.

This game is in no shape perfect, yet describe to me a game that is? We see games like these as, “another minecraft ripoff”

I see a game like this as the future. Plenty of people whining, crying, to a what? 10 man Dev team? About how “oh the healing is the worst, the servers suck, it’s too much, it’s too hard” nonsense. Write a review on life while you’re at it, nobody can bug fix that.

– edit after holloween patch –

The latest patch has gone live and the old review no longer applies so I must change it.

The game is still bare-bones. The content is still balanced around the lv 20 cap so it is natural. What IS there is fine.

– THE BAD –

Here are what I think are still the problems plaguing the game:

  • vigor is still a problem

Vigor (as previously described) is the system used to gate certain activities. The initial iteration of it had vigor attached to harvesting. T1 materials such as stone, herb did not cost vigor. T2 materials such as copper, flax cost 1 vigor. T materials such as iron, cotton cost 2 vigor. This system incentives hoarding materials. The new system attached vigor to crafting gear (weapon and armor).

Eldevin

Eldevin

This is a indie MMORPG that has been around 8 years in the making. It has launched in November 2013. For a small team of artists, programmers and developers, they have done an amazing job with the game.

What I like about Eldevin:

You start off as your character - and Eldevin has a classless system, so you can choose/switch what class you’d like to be - from Warrior, Templar, Assassian, Ranger, Mage, Prophet or even a mixture. You gain talent points every time you level, and you can use those talent points in the tree of the class you wish to use. You also obtain points to increase your health, melee, mage, range etc.

Real player with 1356.5 hrs in game

I do not recommend this game because it has deteriorated into vanity updates for money. Mainly with half baked releases of content, such as a barely there guild system. Their development cycle for any content is massive and hunted cow studios interaction with the community is very limited.

A lot of the player base left for numerous reasons and when they first released on steam their population increased due to curious people. This did not last and they rapidly lost the new people who checked the game out. Getting dungeons on the small player base is very hard. On average you are talking 100 odd players over 3 servers and they are mainly the hardcore holdouts that are left hoping. They use a lot of asset reskins to put out vanity. This game if you were to play, get to know the small pop and hope to find someone willing to let you tag along on dungeons.
