Im gonna be real, i bought this game for like $2.49 …less than a big mac on doordash. And i had a blast…this game is pretty cool and fun. The only downside is that it’s really, really short.

All the powerups and tools feel real nice to the touch …relax.

I do recommend, this game, it certainly beats out a lot of $60 titles right now. Alright i’ll see u fellas in the ground, digging, mining for fake ass fugazzi diamonds. Im out

Canary in a Crater

Review is based on Version 1.03

It is a fun little game. Controls are solid and upgrades are useful. Achievements work and are simple enough to get.

You could probably finish the game in a few hours, definitely within a day if you’re trying for that. This is a GREAT game if you’re busy and would like to play a game for 20 minutes before work and feel like you accomplished something.

Game play is a simple loop. You dig down collecting upgrade orbs and treasures. Sell treasure. Pay for upgrades and resources to get down farther where higher priced treasure is. This can be a bit ‘grindy’ but that is what this style of game is meant to be. If you are not into that style of game this might not be for you.

Canary in a Crater is a clone of Miner Dig Deep, but it’s graphics are far better and in my view super cute! ^_^ Movement is smooth, but seems slower than Miner Dig Deep. There are upgrades and things in this game that Miner Dig Deep does not have, but I did not play enough to see them myself so I can not comment upon if those aspects make the game overall stronger then Miner Dig Deep.

The developer seems genuinely into improving the game and making it better then it is and is open to critical feedback.

Mines of Mars

This is a game I really, REALLY want to give a positive review for. If there was a neutral button I would have gladly picked that over a negative review on this game in particular.

The developer though small time is still trying to finish this game the problem is that there are some things that just are NOT well balanced in this game. At the beginning of this game everything is a slow and painful clog to get any material back to the surface, if you started this game with say the lv 2 visor and boots, the early game would progress at a FAR smoother rate.

yes, i can fully recommend this little gem of a game.

the graphics are nicely crafted, sound is decent, the music is very fitting and relaxing, the story is probably not that special but at least it is there and the whole game is spiced with that amusing humor.

there’s lots of digging to do, caves to explore, tons of valuable stuff to mine, lots of upgrades to craft and the occasional boss is waiting to be killed. if all that digging got you tired there are a few minigames to play and some other stuff for you to fool around with before the next shift starts.

Although I’ve never made it all the way to the bottom, I’ve really enjoyed this game! I’m ready to take a break from it, but may come back to it later. I love the simple mechanics, but I do have one suggestion. I’ve noticed the rocks and resources are in the same places for each new game. If you could find a way to randomize each new game but keep the numbers and zones of resources and rocks essentially the same, you would have a truly world-class game. As a retired developer/tester, I can appreciate the effort that goes into software. If it’s infeasible to add this feature, I understand totally. I salute you!

I like mining games, and I didn’t think this one would keep me going for so long but 21 hours later and I’m still pottering away in my mine. Aside from some minor quibbles (while a stone will push you away if you’re only a little close to it, this same mechanic doesn’t happen on lifts from what I can tell and lifts don’t work after lvl 1000 - can’t tell if this is coming or if this is a feature of the game), I enjoy this. Wish it had some achievements, but that’s just me, lol.

Mine Trap Reborn

Mine Trap Reborn

Mine Trap Reborn takes place in an old abandoned mine. As the miner, you must clear each level and progress- but be sure to watch out for the blobs! Play through 130 levels, 30 in classic mode and 100 in arcade mode. Classic mode sticks close to the game’s namesake; Minetrap, a game which existed in the 90’s (it does not exist anymore). Arcade mode is the new, flashy version, complete with earthquakes, lava, dark levels, wind, coins, overly dramatic music, alternative objectives, crumbling levels, bosses, and more! While in theory the game is simple, it is quite easy to end up in a bad position and die- there are death messages designed to enhance the user experience and provide encouragement for level progression. There is also word of a hidden minigame, maybe you should hang out on the main menu…

How-To

It is recommended one plays Classic mode before attempting Arcade mode. Arcade mode is much more difficult.

Kill blobs by digging traps, getting them to fall into traps, and then filling the traps in. Different blobs must fall different distances to be killed, or you can auto-kill them by dropping blobs on other blobs!

Generally speaking, the blobs must fall the following number of “levels”.

Green, 1

Light Blue, 2

Red, 3

Yellow, 1

Light Purple, 2

Dark Purple, 3

Objectives Include:

Clear all enemies, collect coins, mine amounts of gold, FFA, and survive a certain amount of time.

Featuring:

The world’s most interesting main menu (can’t really claim this, but it is rather mesmerizing)

Steam Achievements

Steam Leaderboards

Steam Stats

Large amounts of splats

Large amounts of sass, in the form of over 125 different motivational messages

Shaders

Gameplay modifiers

Overly-dramatic awesome music (looking at you, levels 49, 50, 99 and 100!)

Controls:

Keyboard and mouse is best, but can support most controllers

Movement: WASD

Dig: J

Fill: K

Throw dynamite (only works on dark levels): space

Pause/Unpause: Escape

Classic Controls (can be found in options) set the game to use the old control scheme from the now non-existant game.

Movement: Arrow Keys

Dig: D

Fill: F

Throw dynamite: space

Pause/Unpause: Escape

3 hours disappeared; I’m not sure how. But now I need to sleep before work.

If you liked ‘Motherload’ for the zen mining; you’ll probably like this.

Ohhh this games takes me back to the time of Motherload. (the flash version, not the steam version)

I just love the ambiance and the music is very good!

Every time you go down it is the question of will I be back before my fuel runs out? Every dive is a hunt for riches that you don’t want to interrupt to get fuel, but you have to. And in time as well because else your haul will be lost forever!

Upgrading this makes it easier to get huge hauls. Content wise I think the price is a bit steep but the game is very fun to play nontheless.

Mistaker

Mistaker

I had high hopes for this game, looking at the screenshots and the description on the store page. It reminded me a lot of the old school Apogee platformers like Commander Keen and Crystal Caves which I loved playing in the nineties. I struggled with it for about forty minutes, and while I do think it has a lot of potential, I must unfortunately give it a negative review, based on the small part of it that I was actually able to experience.

  • Jump controls are floaty and imprecise. I never felt like I had tight control over when my dwarf would jump, and where he would land.

Gold Rush In The Oort Cloud

Gold Rush In The Oort Cloud

a strange game i’m not sure i’ve ever played something similar to it.

on one hand - a typical platformer, where you jump and shoot; but on the other hand - its space with asteroids, and their gravity where you can jump from one asteroid to another, and this gravity influences how fly your bullets - and it really makes the game special, not similar to others.

  • Dinos eat all of the gold out of your bags of dirt.
