Diggles: The Myth of Fenris

Diggles: The Myth of Fenris

Very surprised Diggles/Wiggles has appeared on Steam, but VERY happy it did!

This is an unique game; nothing really compares to it then (20 years ago), and since then no game has been published (to my knowledge) that comes even close to it. So i almost immediatly bought it (again).

Didnt play Wiggles for years as the original sadly wasnt compatible with ‘newer’ Windows-version. (Could play the official Demo a bit longer though.)

Although graphics is a bit outdated and gameplay is quite slow, the game concept is so good, it was and still is the best game i ever played.

WTF!?! Who’s feet do I have to kiss for finally bringing this game to Steam!! If you ever played and enjoyed, Oxygen not Included, and the new early access game, Hammerington, then you will like this game as well. I even purchased those aforementioned games in the hopes to fill the hole this game left in me decades ago. While a bit dated on graphics (released in 2002), the game still has its same charm and is still very playable. By the end of the game, your dwarves will be riding around on hover boards, and brandishing light sabers. How can you go wrong with that? Thank you

Gem Rush

Gem Rush

This is the digital version of the best selling board game…Gem Rush.

I highly recommend this game for all ages as not only a challenging enough casual game, but one with enough complexity to make it incredibly fun and enjoyable. You can pick it up and leave it anytime, and resume whenever you like. It is multiplayer, and you can play up to 7 players, of which all can be yourself or you can assign bots with 4 differing strength levels. This game has much grown on me, become my weekly gameplay. I admire the “Labor of Love” in the sense that the developer continues to update, polish and refine the overall game as years pass. I would give it a try, as it is well worth $10. 😊

Good Game

This is a board game that has made a faithful reiplementation into a digital form. As a board game, I’m going to say it is not something for people who don’t particuarlly like board games. This game avoids many of the fiddily bigts of setup and tear down and rules checking

Boulder Dash Deluxe

Boulder Dash Deluxe

A classic game updated for the future.

However, it looks very scary. Playing it, I could say that as a child I would have played this a lot, but as a grownup it’s not something that I would recommend. It’s past it’s prime and not updated to compare to other games today.

Alchementalist

Alchementalist

Alchementalist is very early in development and as such, some features may change and images are not representative of the final product.

Alchementalist is a procedurally generated rogue-lite dungeon crawler. Use the power of the elements to craft your own spells and create outrageous combinations of elemental effects, altering the very terrain itself! Delve deeper into the mines to find materials and grow into the most powerful character you can. Take on dangerous foes, learn about the secrets of the Ember-mages and challenge yourself to reach the deepest layers of the mines seeking the Ember-source itself.

Explore the ancient ruins of the Ember-mage mines, searching for the fabled Ember-source. Fight dozens of unique enemies, each with their own crafted spells and tactics, requiring strategy and reflexes to defeat. Encounter more and more dangerous foes as you venture deeper into the mines in your quest to find the Ember-source. The multi-tiered mines are partially hand-crafted, partially procedurally generated, guaranteeing each run is unique and exciting!

Find and mine elemental nodes by blasting them away with your magic. Each elemental node will provide different materials based on what spell type is used to destroy it, allowing you to pick and choose what materials you take away from each node.

Use the materials you’ve gathered to craft multitudes of spell upgrades or even completely new spells! Tailor your magic to exactly how you like to play. Change the target of the spells, add splash damage, modify spell effects, even make spells change the very terrain itself, the possibilities are endless.

Hidden deep within the secret lore of the wise, lie tales of an ancient order of mages. Theirs was a life lived in the depths of the earth and they delved vast subterranean mines, plumbing the ancient rock for the magical elements that were formed from the bones of the world. One element they prized above all others. They called it the Ember-source and they craved and treasured it, for it was beautiful, powerful, and addictive.

It was from this desired element that the name of their order came to be: Ember-mages. No one living knows why or how they vanished from this world, but vanish they did, and today their magnificent caverns lie in ruins, with only death and danger inhabiting them. Magical experiments and powerful abominations guard their secrets against those who dwell above. However, their tales and the seeds of truth that may be contained within have always attracted the brave and the foolhardy. You consider yourself both, and you have vowed to find the truth behind the veil of legend. The journey will be long and black and many dangers await. But, perhaps, at the end of the descent, when you have passed through much toil and weariness, lies a treasure beyond reckoning.

The Ember-source beckons, Alchementalist.

Melvor Idle

Melvor Idle

Game is heavily runescape-inspired idler with some active elements to it, especially the latter/end game dungeons. You can minmax your combat stats with different skills. Ex astrology/agility, Create majority of your own gear as you progress or get some of the endgame equipment from said endgame dungeons. Plenty of different skills and a great ui for an idler.

It’s really a promising title that just came out, and dev has promised more content in the future, which is admirable. If you enjoy idlers/clicker style games this is definitely one of the better ones and i highly recommend any fans of either runescape or great indie loveprojects of idlers to check this out.

I love idle games on mobile devices. I happen to come across Melvor idle and seen it’s a Runescape idle game. Instantly brought back all of my past fun playing Runescape! Of course I downloaded it immediately! All of the skills, items, and attacking concepts are Runescape based except it’s set a skill to train and let it do it’s thing. Now obviously it isn’t quite Runescape in the sense of graphics and mechanics of running around skilling/killing/exploring. They seem to continuously add content to the game and I personally haven’t had any issues with the game.. Everyone has different setups/phones/factors that could pose a possible issue as with everything software. Give it a try, worst case just refund it!

Caverns: Lost Sky

Caverns: Lost Sky

I am enjoying this game a lot! The caverns themselves are fun and exciting. Tunneling to new caverns is slow paced, but relaxing. The game has improved frequently and the devs quickly fixed a couple bugs I was having.

Gameplay tips:

1. Use stat points in the beginning on strength for capacity.

2. Save often.

3. Prioritize crafting pick axes and then weapons before any other items. Always carry at least a few spare pick axes because they break fast.

4. Find a torch before tunneling to fully appreciate your tunnels.

Real player with 10.2 hrs in game

It’s very satisfying to dig and tunnel to discover massive unexplored caverns with fancy chests, resources, and to awkardly encounter what seems like a family gathering of many challenging enemies.

You never know what’s in each cavern you’re tunneling into. Each cavern is wholely unqiue in it’s layout, size and what’s inside. Some caverns are a lot more valuable than others or substantially more deadly. The game will keep you on your toes when you hear the creepy noises of the powerful and quick enemies or when you have to carefully navigate around treacherous plant species.

Planet Centauri

Planet Centauri

This is a very entertaining game worth its full early access price. I am sure you already know what it reminds you of but it has its own charm. Some key advantages it has over -those- games you are thinking about is that the torch can be placed on hotbar to help you see in the dark areas without having it selected. This means you no longer need to place a thousand torches just to see where you are digging underground at the beginning like in Terraria. You get to capture pets in this game too and they can level up and learn passives. A few of these monsters can be used as mounts. You can put these pets into special pet houses where they will earn xp overtime. Decorating inside of their houses with the proper furniture will boost the rate. Monsters have tiers so finding the higher tier ones will get higher tier passives usually or more HP/attack bonuses. Put a male and female together in house and they will produce an egg granted they are same kind of monster. They will produce egg easier when they love their home more I think (represented by heart meter)
