The Dwarves of Glistenveld
It has been a while since I posted this review and much has changed since then. Having played the game now for a total of 300+ hours (and there was me saying I don’t get much time to play games), I have explored many of the game modes. My favourite right now is the Skirmish mode where you can hand-craft your map options, such as the number of enemies, their initial strength, the map size and style, etc. I am currently working my way up to more and more difficult settings to see how good I really am. My other favourite mode is the cavern mode (the game’s sandbox mode ) where I have also spend many hours. In this mode you can slowly build your base to ever increasing size while improving your tech tree. The current tech tree is already in place for the upcoming next chapter of the game and it allows you to build a railway network so that your miners don’t have to carry everything back to your base, improve and automate your defences, build automated farms for farming roots and mushrooms, light up your neighbour hood with lanterns, build cooking stations and much more. I have also played with the map editor and will be uploading my own hand-crafted map very soon. ‘hwill’ has uploaded a new map to the workshop which I enjoyed very much. I must add a comment.

This game, is absolutely fantastic! This RTS adventure strategy game is about leading a tribe of Dwarves trying to take back their homeland from the goblins that have ran them down underground. There are so many things that you find out during every level, there are nice challenges such as the achievements and the schematics that you have to find to advance with technology, there are song hidden choices through your first play through (such as when you meet Fishbeard’s first guard) it’s amazing, it’s so replayable and enjoyable for sooooooooooo many hours even when there is only 6 levels at the time of writing this. Along with the mechanics in this game are so nice and fluid such as the base building part, and the class switching system, the AI is pretty on-point, it’s not one of those games where the AI struggles with some of the commands that you try to give it, in this game, it just does it immediately!

! That Bastard Is Trying To Steal Our Gold !
Well, we can throw dynamite in this game. Usually throwing dynamite under your feet would be a stupid idea but hey, this is a video game. And yes, it gets boring after 5 minutes.
Beside that this a logical game with a bit of platforming where you need to gather all of the pot items (whatever that is) and get back to the entrance after that. You have a limited amount of dynamite that you need to use to detonate dark blue blocks in order to gather items or find a way back.
Not much more to write about this one, really.

This is a fairly austere looking indie puzzle platformer that requires you to collect bags of gold in a two-dimensional upright grid based playfield by jumping around and blasting obstacles with a finite amount of dynamite. This limited resource adds a strategy layer to an otherwise unexciting game.
The visuals are not what I would expect in this kind of game. I think the designer was trying for a puzzle game “feel” in a 2.5D action game aesthetic. The underground cavern background is nice, but the rectangular playfield is suspended in the air like a bunch of stacked blocks in an ant farm. It would look better If it was attached to the ground and background as if it was hewn out of the earth. It would look equally better if it was surrounded by a border like a browser-based puzzle game. Trying to do both (or neither - I honestly can’t tell) fails on many levels. The graphics are downright jarring.

Cave Digger VR
Creeper, oh man
So we back in the mine, got our pick axe swinging from side to side,
Side, side to side
This task a grueling one,
Hope to find some diamonds tonight, night, night
Diamonds tonight
Heads up, you hear a sound,
Turn around and look up, total shock fills your body,
Oh no it’s you again,
I could never forget those eyes, eyes, eyes,
Eyes, eyes, eyes
‘Cause baby tonight,
The creeper’s trying to steal all our stuff again,
‘Cause baby tonight, you grab your pick, shovel and bolt again,
And run, run until it’s done, done,

Before all of the DLC’s arrived i loved this game , it was so simple yet so addicting
if your bored and want to play a quick game , go for it
but as of recently it makes you feel inferior to not buy a DLC , and on top of that the DLC isnt worth it.
it would be worth it if this game WASNT a demo of a paid demo. like having more ways to spend money like upgrading elevator speed , and how long you stay at one level , or a “refiner” and for every upgrade of your refiner each ore gains a bit more in cost . Or a minecart mini game were you are in a mine on a mine cart , there can be parts were the minecart is speeding and then slow parts so you can collect jewles and options to change you path\turn a couple times, it could be a nice and better twist on the regular old underground VR rollercoaster and it can be one of those game you make everyone try. this idea seems a bit iffy but you could even add a horror mode were the player is equiped with a flashlight (with actual shadows and limited field of light) and pickaxe in a huge cave and has to either mine their way out or find enough coal to start the mine cart or something like that. before a monster gets them . there could be places to hide and stuff like that.

SantaCraft
I’m a big fan of Milkbag Games. They make fun, relaxing games with a lot of thought and creativity in them just for the player’s enjoyment! Santacraft was a lot of fun to play. I was hooked and couldn’t stop. My desire to completely clear the map will probably send me back into the game very soon! Music, characters, and pop culture references are all on point!
EDIT for 2021 update: Love all the new stuff added, including a way to keep building! Thank you so much, Owen and Matt for making SantaCraft even more fun!

A perfectly witty and wholesome Christmas game just in time for the holidays! Definitely worth the $5!
On top of being fun for me, I’ve found that it is a great way to teach my 6 year old to use a mouse as he finds controllers too difficult and has given up on other games like Minecraft. This game is right up his alley with the cute characters as well as incorporating the crafting and building that he loves to do!

Gold Rush: The Game
The loans are so broken 50% interest even if you pay it right back. which you likely will do because the scroll wheel wont let you get a even number like FS with $5000 increments no its 21245 and 32339. not only all that you can only take one loan so if you dont get enough money the first time you haft pay double back immediately too get another loan to get what you needed with the first loan which has now stole all your money at a net gain of 0 other than that its a ok if not somewhat glitchy game. but really for a game aiming at realism 50% interest is not only unrealistic but not even allowed at real banking institutions even illegal.

I personally hate making these styles of review, but in order to give my honest opinion I see this as fitting, in all seriousness this game means a lot to me being one of the first games I ever played on PC, so I cherish it quite a bit. (Love the soundtrack, brings back memories for sure.)

Gold Rush In The Oort Cloud
a strange game i’m not sure i’ve ever played something similar to it.
on one hand - a typical platformer, where you jump and shoot; but on the other hand - its space with asteroids, and their gravity where you can jump from one asteroid to another, and this gravity influences how fly your bullets - and it really makes the game special, not similar to others.

Dwarfs - F2P
Dwarfs F2P is the free version of the full game Dwarfs!? in which you take control of dwarfs and need to dig, dig and dig some more. Originally got this to get the achievement for KF1.
Pros:
-Gameplay is rather fun. Controlling various little dwarfs throughout the game digging for gold and overcoming obstacles such as lava, water and large spiders keeps you on your toes while playing.
-The free to play version offers quite a bit of content for being free. The full game can be bought through DLC which aren’t too pricey either.

Let’s be honest here. We all got this game so that we can unlock that awesome axe in Killing Floor.
Making me play this game so that I can get something in another one- good job Tripwire, you cunning game developers you!
But I must say after I’ve played it for 3 hours (going through all the tutorials, codex tips and actual game playing till I get the achievement for the axe) I found out that I really like this game. It has funny dialogues, interesting premise and overall a good theme to it. Who doesn’t like magical underworld realms, where dwarfs fight gnomes and mine gold?

Hydroneer
This game has given me many hours of enjoyment. I have followed the development closely and had a ball with all the updates. The creative update has given me many more hours of playtime.

Hydroneer is one of those games which, on the surface, should actually be fun, and easy to play. However the problem is, that while sure, it CAN be fun in spurts… it’s more frustrating than anything. What’s more, it’s as if the developer simply doesn’t either have a clue how to fix the issues that players have… or has become so invested with his own goal for the end game that he simply ignores the issues.
The number one issue this game has, is tied to its physics calculations. Which, if you know anything about the game itself, or what it claims to be, is a MAJOR problem. A problem which isn’t really being addressed. The developer regularly posts streams about how he’s making entirely new sections of the game… and yet never touches on the problems with physics.

Miner Meltdown
I throughly enjoyed playing this game with my friends. It’s a qwearky game that gives you and your friends tons of laughs. This is a great game to play while waiting for all your friends to play a AAA game. Tje creator of the game is always adding new skins to the miners which is really neat and it’s also around holiday events. All of the weapons and items are quite fun to play with, I really enjoyed using the shotgun for up close and personal and the rocket launcher to clear out those pesky miners from a distance. The main map is quite huge which allows you to roam a bit and build up some precious gold to get those awesome weapons and items without the other team right on top of you. Oh, speaking of the map, the background images are very cool to see and the music gives you that 8-bit feel. As a fun for a laugh or to get you blood pumping, I recomend everyone to get this game and play with your friends especially for the low low price.

Ever since the alpha testing party back in June 2016 it’s been thrilling seeing the progress in development on this game. Back then this game was very early into it’s development and was a long way from what you see today in the game. One thing that hasn’t changed is the competitive feel to the game. Something about swinging around from a rope with various weapons at your disposal brings thrill do a 2d platformer and Miner Meltdown is no exception. With the pricepoint of this game you simply can’t go wrong.
