Diggles: The Myth of Fenris

Diggles: The Myth of Fenris

Very surprised Diggles/Wiggles has appeared on Steam, but VERY happy it did!

This is an unique game; nothing really compares to it then (20 years ago), and since then no game has been published (to my knowledge) that comes even close to it. So i almost immediatly bought it (again).

Didnt play Wiggles for years as the original sadly wasnt compatible with ‘newer’ Windows-version. (Could play the official Demo a bit longer though.)

Although graphics is a bit outdated and gameplay is quite slow, the game concept is so good, it was and still is the best game i ever played.

WTF!?! Who’s feet do I have to kiss for finally bringing this game to Steam!! If you ever played and enjoyed, Oxygen not Included, and the new early access game, Hammerington, then you will like this game as well. I even purchased those aforementioned games in the hopes to fill the hole this game left in me decades ago. While a bit dated on graphics (released in 2002), the game still has its same charm and is still very playable. By the end of the game, your dwarves will be riding around on hover boards, and brandishing light sabers. How can you go wrong with that? Thank you

Gem Rush

Gem Rush

This is the digital version of the best selling board game…Gem Rush.

I highly recommend this game for all ages as not only a challenging enough casual game, but one with enough complexity to make it incredibly fun and enjoyable. You can pick it up and leave it anytime, and resume whenever you like. It is multiplayer, and you can play up to 7 players, of which all can be yourself or you can assign bots with 4 differing strength levels. This game has much grown on me, become my weekly gameplay. I admire the “Labor of Love” in the sense that the developer continues to update, polish and refine the overall game as years pass. I would give it a try, as it is well worth $10. 😊

Good Game

This is a board game that has made a faithful reiplementation into a digital form. As a board game, I’m going to say it is not something for people who don’t particuarlly like board games. This game avoids many of the fiddily bigts of setup and tear down and rules checking

Alaska Gold Fever

Alaska Gold Fever

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1748760/Kings_Helper/

It’s 1896 and recently something unbelievable has been discovered in the cold and wild fields of Alaska. It was something special and precious, something so valuable that entire kingdoms fell over for its beauty… GOLD!

Thousands of adventurers wander into Alaskan forests, mountains and grasslands to get only one thing - even one gold ounce. You are one of them and your goal is simple - become the wealthiest man in the world!

Explore & Survive in the unforgiving environment

Alaska, as breathtaking as it is, is not the most welcoming place in the world. As a gold miner you have to be well prepared. Take your warm clothes, food and proper equipment in order to survive at least one day. Blinding blizzards and heavy rains will put you through the various challenges.

Fight your way and defend what’s yours

There are many dangers in the wilderness - wolf packs, bears and, of course, people who won’t be as humble as you and will kill anyone for gaining some golden nuggets. Equip yourself with some knives or a gun, survive the night and be victorious!

Dig, mine and sell!

Search for caves and caverns, dig through the hard rocks and get your gold. Don’t forget to equip yourself with good quality picks, dynamite and building supplies, or your mines won’t be easy - no one wants to die because of collapsing ceilings.

Take care of your dogs

You will have a dog sled at your disposal while traversing the open world of Alaska. Those good boys need food, warmth and love from their owner. Don’t forget about customizing their equipment!

Equip yourself

Equip yourself with the necessary equipment that will allow you to find gold in any area. Go to the store and buy everything you need for a gold digger’s expedition. Rope, dynamite, food? Take whatever you need!

Go on a treasure hunt

Take the treasure map in your hands and go on your journey. Remember that it will be dangerous, so you need to get the necessary tools! On your way you will meet many dangers, but don’t give up because the treasure waiting for you is worth your effort!

Build mines

Build your mines, expand your mining tunnels and look for hidden gold mines! Don’t forget about the supports in the mine to make you feel safe in it. Get the right materials and expand your tunnels. Create your own gold mine!

Mine deeper

Create unique mines and dig deeper and deeper, expand your mines! Set up a track and go on an amazing journey in search of gold!

Planet Centauri

Planet Centauri

This is a very entertaining game worth its full early access price. I am sure you already know what it reminds you of but it has its own charm. Some key advantages it has over -those- games you are thinking about is that the torch can be placed on hotbar to help you see in the dark areas without having it selected. This means you no longer need to place a thousand torches just to see where you are digging underground at the beginning like in Terraria. You get to capture pets in this game too and they can level up and learn passives. A few of these monsters can be used as mounts. You can put these pets into special pet houses where they will earn xp overtime. Decorating inside of their houses with the proper furniture will boost the rate. Monsters have tiers so finding the higher tier ones will get higher tier passives usually or more HP/attack bonuses. Put a male and female together in house and they will produce an egg granted they are same kind of monster. They will produce egg easier when they love their home more I think (represented by heart meter)

Canary in a Crater

Canary in a Crater

Review is based on Version 1.03

It is a fun little game. Controls are solid and upgrades are useful. Achievements work and are simple enough to get.

You could probably finish the game in a few hours, definitely within a day if you’re trying for that. This is a GREAT game if you’re busy and would like to play a game for 20 minutes before work and feel like you accomplished something.

Game play is a simple loop. You dig down collecting upgrade orbs and treasures. Sell treasure. Pay for upgrades and resources to get down farther where higher priced treasure is. This can be a bit ‘grindy’ but that is what this style of game is meant to be. If you are not into that style of game this might not be for you.

Canary in a Crater is a clone of Miner Dig Deep, but it’s graphics are far better and in my view super cute! ^_^ Movement is smooth, but seems slower than Miner Dig Deep. There are upgrades and things in this game that Miner Dig Deep does not have, but I did not play enough to see them myself so I can not comment upon if those aspects make the game overall stronger then Miner Dig Deep.

The developer seems genuinely into improving the game and making it better then it is and is open to critical feedback.

CorePiercer

CorePiercer

This game is well balanced, well done, the gameplay is really cool.

The idea of drilling the basement is very nice to me. No crash or bug when I play but sometimes a little trouble stopping my train in the station lol. I love to control my machine with the mouse !!

Note: 8/10 therefore

After I played this game for 23 hours : I just can’t stop playing it .. Going deeper and deeper ! !

Real player with 549.0 hrs in game

An interesting experiment. The player will take on the role of the driver of a huge drill. The whole point of the game is to go down as low as possible, get a certain amount of resources, return to the surface and improve your drill.

Animal Doctor

Animal Doctor

its not what i expected. you dont get to run your own vet practice. you dont even get your own house or anything. very short game. not very fun.

Real player with 4.8 hrs in game

The devs have apparently never seen an American farm or talked to a real vet. The hillbilly music playing constantly in the background isn’t bad, per se (it’s pretty good, for what it is), but I don’t particularly like that style of music. And not everyone who lives in the country is a hillbilly, for gods sake. So why that music? If they added some alternate tracks, I’d be okay with it.

But the main problem is that it’s goofy. No vet would send an intern to scrounge around in the forest for “healing herbs” (which he can’t even identify) or let him be sidetracked into becoming a delivery boy for the local farmers. He’s ON THE CLOCK. Not to mention the fact that farmers don’t generally leave clumps of goat cheese and bottles of milk just lying around the farm to collect later.

Nice Idle game. Progress is fast enough and premium currency isn’t needed to enjoy the game.

I like that most of the clicking you can do to speed up progress isn’t just button mashing.

Mines of Volantis

Mines of Volantis

3 hours disappeared; I’m not sure how. But now I need to sleep before work.

If you liked ‘Motherload’ for the zen mining; you’ll probably like this.

Real player with 13.4 hrs in game

Ohhh this games takes me back to the time of Motherload. (the flash version, not the steam version)

I just love the ambiance and the music is very good!

Every time you go down it is the question of will I be back before my fuel runs out? Every dive is a hunt for riches that you don’t want to interrupt to get fuel, but you have to. And in time as well because else your haul will be lost forever!

Upgrading this makes it easier to get huge hauls. Content wise I think the price is a bit steep but the game is very fun to play nontheless.
