Diggles: The Myth of Fenris

Diggles: The Myth of Fenris

Very surprised Diggles/Wiggles has appeared on Steam, but VERY happy it did!

This is an unique game; nothing really compares to it then (20 years ago), and since then no game has been published (to my knowledge) that comes even close to it. So i almost immediatly bought it (again).

Didnt play Wiggles for years as the original sadly wasnt compatible with ‘newer’ Windows-version. (Could play the official Demo a bit longer though.)

Although graphics is a bit outdated and gameplay is quite slow, the game concept is so good, it was and still is the best game i ever played.

WTF!?! Who’s feet do I have to kiss for finally bringing this game to Steam!! If you ever played and enjoyed, Oxygen not Included, and the new early access game, Hammerington, then you will like this game as well. I even purchased those aforementioned games in the hopes to fill the hole this game left in me decades ago. While a bit dated on graphics (released in 2002), the game still has its same charm and is still very playable. By the end of the game, your dwarves will be riding around on hover boards, and brandishing light sabers. How can you go wrong with that? Thank you

Cattails | Become a Cat!

Cattails | Become a Cat!

There are two kinds of gamers: those who can enjoy life sims, and those who cannot. Some people need the game to show them “this is what your goal is,” and others are very happy to invent their own goals regardless of whether or not the game gives you one. If you’re in that latter category, then by all means, I recommend this game to you. Especially if you like cats. Otherwise… you’ll probably find yourself growing bored right after the tutorial.

Although I feel like this was pretty ingenious–of course you have no goal at first. You’re a housecat that was dumped off into the middle of nowhere! Your first few days should be spent learning how to survive. THEN you can come up with something to do. (And the game provides you with a main quest a few days later, so there’s that.)

If you haven’t gotten Stardew Valley yet, get that instead…but check this game out after you’re done with it and wait for a sale.

Presentation:

Great music. Decent pixel art for he environment. Although I’m not a fan of the character portraits. I would have preferred it looked like the stylized digitally drawn characters in the main menu.

Main Story:

What you can consider the main story is the Temple at the near center of the map that requires you to gather unique resources and items from all over the map to “restore the balance” and revive the Forest Guardian. Gamplay wise it’s a standard affair. What makes Cattails unique is that there are little puzzle rooms that you have to do after completing a bundle. Half are decent at best puzzles and the other half are boring combat trials that require a key that can only be received by having good relations with other cat colonies. There 6 bundles with 4 milestones- for completing the first, third, fifth, and last.

GEM-ALERT!

just bought it and played 7 hrs straight (with many more to come)

if you like games like “Crashlands” then this is the right one…

a bit more “pixaleted”, a bit more EA (but with awesome updates so far as far as I can say that because of the 2 patch-logs i saw so far)

BUT THIS IS SERIOUS FUN FFS!

Combat can be tricky, you need to kite like hell or you die, but again, if you liked something like “Crashlands”, youre used to the fact that this is a core gameplay mechanic (and it woudn´t be very fun otherwise)

9th Dawn III

9th Dawn III

9th Dawn III is a great hack-and-slash dungeon crawler/RPG with a lot of content. The game has a semi-open world concept with limited access to areas related to the main story. There is a predefined path to progress in the game, but the number of optional dungeons gives a lot of freedom. I enjoyed the storyline, even if it is a clichéd “save the world from evil” scenario.

You can definitely tell that the developers put a lot of attention to detail in this game. There is a huge amount of items, skills, monsters and general things you can do in the game. You can go fishing and make a meal out of your catch, or you can go mining and forge a new weapon etc.

Real player with 183.8 hrs in game

9th Dawn III is a 2D pixel take on a huge open world filled with smithing, jewelcrafting, alchemy, cooking, taming monsters, a card game along with the usual dungeon crawling and loot that are familiar for everyone. The animation and art for this game are it’s weakest points, which as an artist I hate saying. On the plus side, everything else is so damned good that you will get past the look of it pretty damned quickly. It is singularly my only “complaint” about this game, and even there the dark dreary textures that seem to blend into each other are vastly outweighed by amazingly implemented gameplay mechanics, a fun little story that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and a plethora of crafting minigames and card minigames that will keep you entertained for hours.

Bomber League

Bomber League

A bomberman a little more complex than usual.

Choose your character who has his own special skill, make your choices strategically because you will need it to hope to win in this great Bombers tournament!

#### Characters:

Each character has his own special skill, a skill that he can only use at specific times by earning enough points.

  • Agent S.: Drops a smoke grenade to smother the bombs in the radius.

  • Ramboum : Launches an atomic bomb that sprays absolutely everyone in its path, beware, it’s more than deadly!

  • Icy : throws a modified water bomb. Beware, in reality it’s nitrogen and freezes everything in its path, even the blocks are not safe.

  • Raiden : fascinated by electricity and lightning, he created a bomb that could paralyze all his enemies who would cause him even the slightest bit of trouble.

#### Items:

To add a little more life to the field, we have a few items that might be interesting for anyone in the middle of a fight!

  • Rocket launcher: Shoots and destroys all the blocks in its path until it explodes and projects a long flame perpendicularly.

  • Recharge Bonus: Allows you to recharge your special ability faster.

  • Speed Bonus: Allows you to move at the speed of light.

  • Mines: Be careful where you walk, one wrong step and it’s the end for you because even the terrain could play tricks on you.

  • C4: a little technological gem allowing you to make a good racket and good damage whenever and wherever you want.

  • Shield : Protects you from a deadly explosion…

CryoFall

CryoFall

I HAVE mixed opinions with the game, on the one hand it seems to me an excellent game with very good mechanics in most cases (not all, some are grossly absurd) I like the customization of the character that is not extensive but for a 2d game it is good, a large map that invites you to discover it, but now come the negative points that unfortunately are many:

1 / some mechanics do not make much sense, things like artificial firewood logs have a relatively high cost in the early game phase for the small amount and the time they last to burn, in terms of the medium, wild creatures with absurd damage, A javali takes 1/4 of your life with a tier 4 armor, armor and durability system too short, I understand that it is a game that encourages crafting but they pass in terms of the durability of weapons, armor and several other things.

Short version

A pretty polished game for an Early Access title. PvP are pretty much a full-fledged game at this point, PvE however still needs some late game contents. Download the demo and try it for 8 hrs and judge it for yourself.

Long version

GRAPHICS : I gotta be honest, my first impression of Cryofall is not that great. The character and animation felt kind of “cheap”, like the type of designs you often sees in Freemium mobile games. There’s a variety of avatar faces to choose from, but they all have the same default “idle” expression. They’re by no means “ugly”, just a tad bit uninspired. The environmental, structure and creature designs however, looks great. You can tell the artist puts a lot of time and effort into it, plus the character design started to grow on me after a couple of hours of gameplay. So, eh. It’s alright.

my play through with all achievements done (first two didn’t unlock from glitch though): https://youtu.be/U2Lj9B9pZbo

Really fun platformer with some cool mechanics on how you can manipulate the world definitely look foward to the full release all the mini games could be a ton of fun with friends. The first mini game both the achievements glitched for me though I beat it and did it without the developers cheat and didn’t get either of those achievements. I’ll definitely (try to donate since it’s in a foreign currency I’m gonna have to try and figure that out) to the kick starter and I hope others will as well for the full release!

he game is short but good, the creators recreated the old game with a bit of topron stuff, at the same time I can say that it is worth recommending metreoidvania, but it is a pity that it is short and you have a feeling that Spiderwork games has abandoned all work on this game, a bit simple story but a pretext for complete manipulation of objects, just a combination of useful and pleasant, this time without hindering things, making new in programming who do not understand everything too much can learn something, also a bit bothered me that only support for controllers and buttons for the keyboard were shown do not appear, I hope it will be thrown in the finished game, I wish the creators to finish the game from the kickstarter campaign as soon as possible and that the game will be very popular
