ASTRO AQUA KITTY

ASTRO AQUA KITTY

Surprised this doesn’t have a higher rating. Maybe people are disappointed because they are comparing it to the first game and this game is very different. The first game was great because it has these crunchy controls with old school arcade-paced levels. This game is not like that. Unlike Milk Mine Defender, where you can only go left and right in an infinite loop, these are open maps where you have to hunt around and collect specific things. Also unlike Milk Mine, the powerups are not temporary but are items which can be collected and upgraded. Personally, I love it. It’s like if Star Fox was a 16-bit rpg with all the little side-quests and boss battles. But if you were expecting a continuation of Milk Mine, I can see why it would be disappointing.

Now I have finished it, I can say it worst its price. It is a very lovely sequel and a quality product for an indy title.

ASTRO AQUA KITTY is such an improvement compared to the previous one.

Now it is an Action RPG shoot-em-up with classes and multiples weapons. An immersive and even more cute artistic direction, a minded and polished level design that increase in size level after level and give you various tasks, all served by very good musics.

Devs made it with great care and you can feel it.

Just finish the game and loved it. Other than bugs like how we can’t go in the power castle I haven’t seen any other bugs it’s fun if you give it a chance. oh the Reincarnation Requirements after 3rd Gen i can’t see it for some reason. I found another bug where I can’t reincarnate as a wolf.

There has been a patch since my review that will likely invalidate it. However I haven’t had time to go through and try the game again. I will still leave this here for comparison to the current game and see what’s changed and what still needs polish/refinement

Only reason I currently recommend the game is because I’m a sucker for monster MC and can see some potential here.

However, that’s all it has going for it, and it barely even does that, let’s break down what the game has.

Pros:

Reincarnation system- unique from other rpgs I’ve played, offers the promise of different playstyles and advancement.

Gaia Beyond

Gaia Beyond

Gaia Beyond is a handcrafted 2D Action-RPG in space.

-multiple save slots, quicksave and quickload, autosaves.

-open world

-quest with multiple solutions

-ship building, upgrade-able weapons

-fight stations with your ship

Sure we’re fans of the genre and bound to like the game more than the usual fare, but those looking for an original and thrilling, handcrafted open world 2d space shooter, this will not disappoint. Gaia Beyond introduced a world with characters I actually cared about, and combat gameplay I could get behind. This game really does have something for every sci-fi shooter fan: Good writing, characters with depth(you get to meet the most spaced-out guys in the galaxy), huge amount of side quests(some with multiple solutions), factions, intimidating ships, upgrade-able ships and weapons, mining, trading, nice OST etc. It was not a very demanding game. You were just a simple nobody mining and shooting your way up, trying to make your way in this seemingly peaceful mysterious space. While all the ships were actually flying in the game world in real time, most of the time it was quite relaxed. Some fights were tough when I didn’t upgrade or choose my guns properly. It played especially good on big monitor(this game has 4K support). No other 2d space shooter I’ve ever played has impressed me like this one. Maybe Starsector has better combat than this but that’s the only thing it is better. I’d played 3030 Deathwar Redux , Star Valor, and Starcom Nexus, this game is better. After playing for around 30 hours , I doubt that I had reached even halfway of the main story, this game is loooooong. Yuki, one of the game writer, said the game is still a bit rough around the edges, but I could see that they were updating and patching up the game almost monthly, and they were quite active on the forum answering questions and acknowledging bugs, so I would not worry about that at all.

I would recommend this so much, but…I’d wait until the main quest is extended by at least 300%.

In a nutshell: Great game but I’d wait until the main quest is extended by at least 300%. Don’t bother grinding unless you really want to, regardless of main story.

Long review: This is a very cool 2D “Galaxy on fire 2-ish” space action RPG game where you explore, mine, hunt and upgrade your ships and weapons. Kind of like Zelda / Diablo in a spaceship and a huge map set in our solar system in a dystopian future.

Amborettio

Amborettio

Amborettio is an interesting game with a unique story behind it. I was impressed with the details in the backstory and I enjoyed collecting materials to build the required tools for the game. For the price, I would recommend this game to everybody who is interested. The solo developer has completed impressive work with this game at a fair price. I look forward to seeing the future games that this developer publishes.

I will keep this short and right to the point.

I took this game for a quick spin to test the tires, and I have not seen 5 hours go by so fast!! It has been a long time since I have had a game grab me right out of the gate and keep me!

It is simple to learn and very easy to play, no button mashing needed… 4 directional movement- 2 buttons for skills and a 3rd key for a random area buff/skill that gets offered. Plus, all key binds can be remapped as well.

One of the first things to catch my attention was when I fired up the game I had a full screen available … ( I run an Ultra wide Monitor 3440 x 1440 ) and this game supported it!! That in itself is rare for a game, not to mention this is just released in Early Access!!

Okay i think i have played enough to drop a comment on it.

Here are the things i love and enjoy;

-So many loots that might even take more time to collect than actually killing mobs

-Fast and smooth yet sweaty gameplay with lots of dodges (dark souls sim)

-Progression feels smooth even tho it’s still on early access

-Gambling feature to get higher items or relics (crying sim)

-Various skill combos and new builds as the dev updates

-Dev constantly releases new updates including new features, items, relics and most importantly bug fixes

GEM-ALERT!

just bought it and played 7 hrs straight (with many more to come)

if you like games like “Crashlands” then this is the right one…

a bit more “pixaleted”, a bit more EA (but with awesome updates so far as far as I can say that because of the 2 patch-logs i saw so far)

BUT THIS IS SERIOUS FUN FFS!

Combat can be tricky, you need to kite like hell or you die, but again, if you liked something like “Crashlands”, youre used to the fact that this is a core gameplay mechanic (and it woudn´t be very fun otherwise)

LandTraveller

LandTraveller

See the full review here: https://saveorquit.com/2021/01/14/preview-landtraveller/

The simplest explanation is “It’s Minecraft in Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past’s perspective.” Also, there’s a story mode with a linear plot in the procedural sandbox world, and you play as catgirls. You’ll probably enjoy it around as much as that elevator pitch appeals to you.

It’s SNES-inspired sound and graphics aside, LandTraveller is an “and the kitchen sink” dabbler in many different genres, including some born after the 16-bit era, and not all of these ideas play well together. LandTraveller wants to have the base-building of Minecraft or Terraria, however, it doesn’t want to let you actually use those for fighting bosses like in Terraria, and in Story Mode in particular, bases are almost entirely just a storage bin and crafting bench. Why bother customizing something you only see for 5% of the game? LandTraveller wants to have difficult twitch combat focus like a roguelite such as Binding of Isaac, but it has old SNES controls instead of twin-stick shooting, making the game character too difficult to control for some of the high-precision combat it demands. RPG mechanics mean that level and gear can render enemies that were one-hit-killers toothless, further undermining twitch-based action focus. In fact, since movement speed is also based on RPG-style stats, and there is no “run” or inversely, “slow down” button, a slow character (bears) might find it impossible to evade attacks, while fast characters might find platforming or just plain fitting through the one-tile-wide doorways nearly impossible, as it’s extremely difficult to line up on a single block when your character is only a couple pixels narrower than a block.

This review is for Story mode using the beta version with the latest updates. You can opt into this version from game settings in Steam.

Seems like a great game so far. I’ve run into a few bugs but overall it’s been pretty enjoyable - moreso than I expected.

There are plenty of open world crafting sandbox games but this is one of the few that is also a complete RPG and didn’t just contain a few RPG elements. There’s an Explore mode that leaves the story out. It also has multiplayer, which I haven’t tried yet.

Great adventure game; perfect way to employ my older son (8) for hours with an activity that requires brain, thinking, reading etc as opposed to just numblessly staring at Youtube.

We played the Hebrew version which was perfect for him since he can’t read English.

Hardly any guidance was required from my side as the game is very intuitive and the kid was carried away into hours of playing it (from time to time he came to share with me his experiences and adventures from the game).

Go get it, it is definitelly a covid-19 must have!!

Excellent!

The ultimate saving for our children. I encountered this game during the Covid-19 lockdown period. We have 3 children (ages 11,9 & 4). After going crazy for a few days in the house, the children were introduced to the game. They immediately started to play TOGETHER which was just fabulous! They set with the Challenges and riddles AS A TEAM which we really liked.

It is just wonderful to watch all 3 of them play together trying to unlock the quest.

Highly recommended!!

ScrewUp

ScrewUp

A lot of people have given negative reviews because the game changed quite dramatically, which actually was a good thing because it became more original. Also, the devs very quickly addressed the main issue of it needing combat for items.

But yeah, we were all confused and lost when version 0.4 launched, as it was a completely different experience, and none of us had a clue what to do.

Right now there is no story, no tutorial, no guide and completely bonkers monsters. But it’s a survival game, not an RPG.

Real player with 77.0 hrs in game

After doing a live stream on this game for 5+ hours I fell in love with it, I really hated it at first because players kept joining our co op session and killing us, after a while they stopped joining and we were able to craft explore and survive together, The game information says it’s online Co-Op but it’s not. it’s more like Co-Op PVP because you can’t set up a private session for just your friends. The crafting is easy once you get used to the menu however there are a few things I would like to see changed like when you hit E to loot a box and have to press I to close your menu, Why not E to open and E to close? The game in my opinion is well worth $10 Dollars maybe even $14.99 I had a few building issues when you build at the beginning you have to follow the quests and if you over build without the quest it doesn’t count and you have to do it over. that’s one thing that could be updated, I love the fact if you do die you can run back to your stuff, sometimes you lose things but it’s a good thing you get to get something back instead of starting over. some items are hard to find if you don’t bother looking things up which I didn’t because I was streaming the game and didn’t want to bother with it, I absolutely love the game mechanics and the layout of the game, hopefully they keep updating things and adding new stuff. I would like to see a way to sleep to make it morning faster so we don’t have to work in the dark as much. overall this game rocks in my opinion good job Developers this game is a winner in my opinion.
