Deadly Cosmic

It’s a short but very cool game, I liked the creatures and the mystery in the plot, I also liked the little moments of humor. In fact I wanted the game to be bigger because I was very involved, but it makes sense for the price. From my point of view it is a game that worth it!

Loved the premise of the game, and the graphics definitely give it that unique feel and add to the creepy vibe. I had a little trouble with the perspective, especially when there was a creature just off screen that I could no longer see because of the change in perspective, but you learn to maneuver and function quick enough.

Took me a while to find and operate the toilet… longer than I would like to admit. Overall, I would definitely recommend playing through this one, it is worth it!

Here’s some gameplay if interested (first stream terminated with no warning and I had to restart the stream)

Lighthouse Keeper

Lighthouse Keeper

This is not a game but rather a narrated story from the life of a lonely lighthouse keeper. You get to follow his actions, thoughts and obsessions. The narrator’s voice expresses how it feels to be stuck in constant solitude quite well. You can also feel the nervous tension and a slight bit of insanity caused by the endless loop of mundane tasks. The music and the sounds complete the unsettling atmosphere, the writing is good, and the visuals are unique. It’s short, takes about 10 minutes to finish, but still offers an interesting experience. I really like it. :)

A short, narrative-driven title with a pretty cool art style.

This is more of a visual novel than a game, as there are only two simple interactive moments mixed in with the narration. What you do or don’t do in those moments is what lands you one of two different endings.

The voice acting is really good, in my opinion. The actor successfully conveys a feeling of obsession, mental exhaustion, and a touch of madness. Music and sound effects are also good, and add to the bleak, lonely atmosphere.

At first I was confused about this games connection to the Fast and Furious franchise but after a second third and fourth playthrough I have started to uncover the fascinating and quite frankly genius subtle world building and lore and I have finally come up with my theory to solve this games story In Grounded you play as Dominic Toretto in purgatory after a street race gone horribly wrong leaves him in a coma Elizabeth Warren chases you around your own personal purgatory because much like in real life she is the Devil of the fast and furious franchise and comes to personally take Dom to the afterlife in order to get revenge on him for banging her husband in the deleted scenes of fast 5 The goal of the game is to collect and smoke six blunts in order to unleash weeds mystical healing powers and bring Dom back to life each blunt is located in a differnt room and every room is a nod to one of Doms wacky adventures in the Fast and Furious movies Spawn = Fast 1, Medieval = Doms final showdown with Evil Doctor Heinzenstruber in his secret doomsday castle, morgue = Paul Walkers death, Bedroom = Letty’s Exclusive 5 dollar onlyfans show, Bathroom = Dom saving Mia from the Scat club in fast 7. after smoking all the blunts you come back to life but due to the Weed being a little too stanky Dom accidentally begins ascending into godhood however this catches the attention of Jesus and realizing he will soon be outmatched Jesus decides to trap Dom in an eternal vaporwave hell which is where you wake up after smoking all six blunts in the game this is where Dom remains until Fast 9. I look forward to seeing how Dom escapes this eternal hell in Fast 9. all in all this game is a short but sweet game to tide us over and get us hyped for Fast 9 coming to theaters April 2nd 2021 and although the connections are a little more abstract I think this game is a must play for any Fast and Furious fan.

This game has thoroughly changed my life. It’s not just a horror or meme game, but a honest reflection about modern society. The main character grows up a single parent house, your dad, Mark Zuckerberg, left you when you were still a baby on his way to the convenience store for a pack of a cigarettes. Still heartbroken over this incident, your mom, who is Elizabeth Warren, has set up 6 cigarette altars in hopes that one day, your dad will return home to you guys. Like your dad though, you also have an uncontrollable cigarette addiction, so you can not resist grabbing a smoke from the altar. Warren is pissed and goes super saiyan.

Short version: You can die in the tutorial. Hardcore! 10/10!!!

Long version: This game is the long lost cousin of King’s Field, if it was a sci-fi title made for the Virtual Boy. As such, those looking for shiny graphics and twitchy gameplay should stay away: the game’s unique art style looks blocky (although in exchange it works with a toaster, if you can read this you can play it), it’s a turn-based dungeon-crawled that demands patience to be played.

The sound effects are okay, nothing special in my opinion, but they do their job. The music though, it’s something else: It perfectly conveys the nightmarish, claustrophobic survival horror scenario that the author wanted to convey.

Laser-focused, ultra-minimalistic dungeon crawler. Think id’s mid-to-late 00s mobile RPGs (Orcs & Elves, Doom RPG, Wolfenstein RPG) their slim frame further stripped down of tissue so that the mere bone of combat, resource management and exploration remains. There are no crutches here, nothing placed at one’s disposal is superfluous or optional - one really must master what mechanics there are. Tutorial mustn’t be skipped.

The presentation is just as spartan yet equally put to just the desired use, minimal wireframe visuals supported by excellent soundtrack conveying this desolate, claustrophobic feeling.

Don’t let the time fool you, I got lost and wanted to map it to write up a guide later, and yeah I definitely glitched out a couple times. Even so, it’s a good horror exploration game, fast-paced, heart-pounding, creepy as fuck. Trite, but fun! The art is fairly hideous and if you’re epileptic DO NOT PLAY, you will have a seizure in no time, but I really enjoyed it!

9/10 would scream and curse at ghosts / demons slaying me again.

Usual walking around, key search, avoiding traps.

It can be played once.

The only negative I can point out is that for me, the game regularly crashed at the start of the “Basement Layer 2” level, it took 4-5 attempts to play through this level.

Spirits of Carter Mansion

Spirits of Carter Mansion

The idea for the game was good, execution not so much. The directions were really confusing (North, South, East, and West instead of Left, Right, Up/Down Stairs, Down the Hall, etc.) and there seemed to be no rhyme or reason to it. I felt like I’d be upstairs and then the next thing I know I’m staring down the basement stairs somehow. This wouldn’t be too bad if there weren’t so many different directions to go in. I feel like if I really wanted to try to figure it out I’d have to take a pen and paper and physically draw a map, and it’s just not effort I’m willing to put in. The way the game is laid out makes the layout of the mansion really unclear. When I downloaded this I was looking for something fun and a little challenging to play through, but instead it feels like I got something that was going to require a lot of work. If you’re into that sort of thing I think you’ll like this game, but if you are like me and are just looking for a game to casually play, maybe try something else.

The idea of this game is pretty alright but i think the execution just made the game all too confusing, the hand is a little unnecessary and it doesn’t really add anything to the gameplay. The directions you can go in should be labeled as left right etc.. or the actual action you are performing like: “go up the stairs” “go down the hall” “go into the room on the left” and once you know the locations it can be instead of “go to the room on the left” it can say “go into the pool room”.

The game seemed interesting enough we just got really lost and it took away from the fun of the game especially since the same image is used for multiple different rooms.

This game is honestly grinding on your nerves…

Slow movement, confusing quests & scripts, the energy limit that basically soft locks your game and forces you to start over from the previous save once you used up the energy and hence unable to proceed through triggering conversations.

You can’t talk to the NPCs in the game when you have no energy left, or do any actions other than entering different rooms.

The game is also quite buggy in times where you have scenes suddenly being jerked across the screen before settling down and allowing a go at the minigames.

Murder House

Murder House

From start to finish I knew I was going to love this game. At first it was just the pure novelty of a game that looked like something I’d watch an older family member play through while hiding behind a blanket as a kid. It only took a few minutes into actually playing the game to realize it would in fact make me FEEL like that kid too. The primitive textures and models give off such a familiar yet uncanny feeling. There’s so many horror games that look “conventionally” better than this, so why am I so off put by the appearance of the polygonal bunny man? Beyond the ps1 era influence, the atmosphere is just spot on. I was seriously impressed by the prologue because it was such a good representation of some vague nightmare I’m sure we’ve all had at some point in our life. After that, the main chunk of the game is where Puppet Combo’s love for Old School horror becomes so much more evident. News Reporters. VHS tapes. A Creepy House. A Psycho Killer. What more do you need? Even more terrifying than the visuals and set up though is the audio. Sometimes a sudden spike in distorted sound will be used as a mere jump scare (which I have nothing against), but what really gets you will be the distant drips and drops in the basement or the wind blowing against the trees outside as you cautiously avoid your predator. The lofi nature of these sounds just really get at your nerves, like nails on a chalkboard, but for some reason it just sounds so damn cool.

If you’re about to read this, let me first state that I actually did have fun with this game. I played it with 2 of my friends and we took turns controlling the player character,

! Emma, and we did enjoy the experience. The game also greatly captures exactly what it was going for in terms of ‘scary VHS 80s horror’ and it really does look like an old video game. It also had some genuinely scary moments that caught me off guard, and it was a fresh breath of air as compared to the typical indie titles that emerge.

As in many of the “true” reviews this game is pretty lame. Basically an old console minimalist-style FPS with minimal interaction and basic Wolfenstein 3-D knockoff type graphics. While playing the game I even went through a lot of pain making maps for each of the levels until I was surprise that the game either was never finished after level 3 or the game has a bug in which upon completing that level the game is over and simply returns to the main menu with many of the screen layout missing and no explanations that the game was over…I tend to lean towards the latter. The same developer turns out other factory-mill run of FPS', a couple of which I picked up for about $0.50 but truthfully I think this game needs to be pulled from Steam…
