Conquicktory

Conquicktory

Conquicktory is a minimalistic turn-based strategy focused on top-level decisions in your civilization’s development. You’ll control the diplomacy relations with neighboring countries, declare wars, plan the key strikes and distribute funds to the peaceful/military issues. Your subjects will do the rest of work - there is no need to deeply micromanage all the aspect of your glorious growing empire.

The game map has 3 views:

1. Military view. If you see a spear with a flag over one of your cities, it means that you can create an army in it. Simply touch and drag from it and you’ll see the army path. Army will capture cells around its path. The same dragging way is used to plan the movement of your existing armies. Also you can see the cells defense ratings on this view. Cells are defended by nearby armies, cities and forts.

2. Diplomacy view. Here you can select a country and see its current enemies (red) and allies (green). You can select a country and suggest a treaty to it, or declare war. Also here you can answer the treaties suggestions from other players

3. Economy view. You can see how much each of your cities brings to you, and set the funds spreading to war, peaceful growth and treasury. You can fund new cities and fortresses in this view.

Game features:

  • easy control mode which lets you focus on the top-level questions of you empire

  • simultaneous moves, which are performed once all the players have issued orders

  • challenging AI, which does not cheat but can make clever moves

  • spectator mode, where you can relax and spectate how the AI play (and try to guess the winner)

  • prebuilt maps of the world, continents and countries, which you can conquer

Entertaining, comprehensive, and educational game, though it’s underdeveloped. It has potential to be great, but needs some more work to get there. I recommend it if it’s cheap, but I ask the creator(s) to improve this game, or they won’t get better ratings.

Basically, there’s a reason this game has “mixed” reviews, but it’s still a good game.

Quarantine: Global Pandemic

Quarantine: Global Pandemic

A good game to pass the time.

The game is very realistic.

And the game has several ways to win against the so-called Covid-19. Unfortunately, the game bugs from the standpoint of 2024, the numbers jump around wildly and you can hardly continue playing the game! But as I said, it’s fun!

But you can also freely choose whether you want Christmas / Easter / Thanksgiving / Mother’s Day / Father’s Day / Halloween

whether you let it fail or not.

Nice game, it needs some polishing and rebalancing but still worth it if you like political games.

Sublunar

Sublunar

YOU WILL BE THE GUY , IN FUTURES , IN SPACE I MEAN SUBLUNAR. AWESOME.

Real player with 11.4 hrs in game

The interface makes the text-based Sublunar more confusing than it needed to be, but once you know your way around it’s a pretty average ‘risk management’ game. In order to complete the level, you have to dominate the region with your faction by completing quests, and as you progress the game will introduce more randomized elements. The tutorial is not very helpful which is part of the problem, I would recommend highlighting the buttons for the player because they are hard to find on your own. Generally speaking, to play the game you have to go to any city, select a quest, and then you have to make sure that your crew meets the stat requirements, including potentially mandatory gear and weapons. Some of the missions have an element of “luck” because you can’t see the secondary phase, but you can eliminate it by asking people in towns for information, assuming the city is under your alignment. When you start a mission you will have a choice of a faction, it’s not purely cosmetic, it affects the frequency of certain events and items in the store.

KingSim

KingSim

Alright first that 12 hours is probably 4-2 hours off, I used steam remote play to play the game for some of my play time, I believe the game was left running well I was doing other things, I find this convent as I can return to the game where I left off with my phone, but it dose inflate the hrs on record. It’s likely closer to 8 or 9 at the time of this post.

Kingsim is a game of choice and resource management, it’s ment to played much more then once, likely you won’t reach the end on your first attempt unless your very lucky, but dieing in this game is an achievement, and you can save at any point. I find this game really fun and have played it quite a bit and I still haven’t gone on all the paths that are in the game. I’m trying to avoid spoilers in this review, so it’s been a bit akword writing, next I guess I’ll address some things from the negative reviews that are here

A very fun, but very short game. A lot like Long Live the Queen but less VN style… Sort of. You can marry monster girls, or humans if you’re into that sorta thing. I married a mermaid and summoned an adorable Cthulhu to spread joy and death across the world.

There are very many possibilities but the game generally ends around 10 days and then you can go into an endless sort of sandbox mode where the only thing to do is conquer or make peace with your surrounding neighbors.

Honestly I’d say my 3 hours was worth $10, but I really hope to see more content from the devs for this game soon. There’s a lot of possibilities yet.

The Battle of Polytopia

The Battle of Polytopia

I would like to begin with the disclaimer that I received Polytopia for free as I had the privilege of beta-testing it before its Steam release. However, I do not believe that this influences my view of the game in any major way that would impact my review. I also had prior experience with the game in its mobile form prior to its release on Steam.

Polytopia is simply a brilliant game. Midjiwan created a masterpiece that is continually refreshing and new, yet challenging to master. The AI is just punishing enough on higher difficulties to encourage thoughtful and deliberate gameplay, yet lenient enough to reward clever strategic moves. At no point have I felt like the game was too arbitrarily challenging or easy, instead it has consistently maintained a delicate balance in terms of difficulty (unless you happen to be stranded on a 1x1 island with no resources in sight, which although rare, is quite tragic). The game is also super approachable for beginners without much experience in this type of strategy/resource management genre. I think that honestly anyone from any skill level can thoroughly enjoy Polytopia.

Real player with 52.9 hrs in game

I really do recommend this game after playing for about 11 hours. It’s the first time I play a game like this, but to my understanding it’s quite a lot like Civilisation but much simpler (and cheaper). Like all games, there are both good and bad things to this game. Let’s discuss it.

Firstly, I’d like to adress the negatives. Multiplayer mode is not that fun, in my opinion. Pass & Play works if there are two of you, but even then it’s a little tiresome to wait for your turn. I tried playing with 2 friends and it just took way too long. I haven’t tried online multiplayer because I don’t know anyone who owns this game. You can play with strangers as well, but the waiting time to fill a server is too much. That’s not really the game’s fault though, that’s just because not enough people have bought this game yet since it’s new.
