Die Again: Prologue

Die Again: Prologue

Die Again brings us a post-Apocalyptic setting where anyone who dies near another human being will possess their body killing the original “soul” that was in that body.

I simply love this concept. I don’t want to spoil the game but the creator has achieved to introduce a very interesting plot and some cool side events around the day to day of the characters that makes you think about the problems of it’s world. For example: How do you know this person near to you is still your partner and not someone who has possessed it’s body and wants to kill you? or other things like the fact that every sick or old person should live alone to not possess another body if they die, but do that person wants to die?

Game was pretty good.

The music was good, the gameplay was nice, but sometimes a bit repetitive. There were a few bugs as well, but they weren’t bad enough to list in detail. As I said, some of the levels were a bit repetitive, but I think that mainly is because the whole concept needs some work. I feel like the circle could be a bit smaller, and maybe some new things could be added to the mix, such as a bigger variety of enemies with different abilities and properties, like with armor or maybe even an occasional mini boss. Otherwise it’s a pretty solid game. I hope the developer continues to work on this idea and refine it.

Disclaimer: I received this game for free due to subscribing to the creator’s Patreon. As such, I have been able to provide feeback during the game’s Alpha build using Discord.

Let us get one thing out of the way; despite the game’s old school 8 bit art style and focus on turn based tactics, this game is NOT XCOM. There is no over watch, as you are on the clock and speed is your security. Your success is based on your tactical decisions, not by giving your Cold Harbor fire team some cool gadgets. It is turn based tactics boiled down to a more simple form, with some random events thrown in for added variables. There are also tools at your disposal to give your soldiers an advantage, which you will need.

Black Powder Red Earth (BPRE) is a neat little strategy game that is worth checking out (if you find it on sale).

I personally love the aesthetic, atmosphere, and presentation—easily the strongest point of the game. This is further helped by its influence of the graphic novel the game is based on.

The gameplay of BPRE is divided up into three modes: Raid, High Profile Attack, and Exfil. The mechanics all work the same between all the modes, however, the scenarios you’re put in force you to change your playstyle in order to succeed. In Raid, you might be moving methodically checking all of the buildings for the HVT, while in High Profile Attack, you may be constantly risking your men by moving across buildings to exfil, complete with a healthy amount of butt-clenching moments. You’re going to have to take risks in this game, it’s just a matter of weighing the losses.

Resistance

Resistance

The command gave the task of downloading information from the servers of the impregnable enemy base at any cost. How to do it? First you need a good plan. You need to be as close as possible to the borders of the enemy and to land in a safe place. Turn off the air defense system and call for reinforcements. Together with reinforcements, you will need to capture the command post and download information from the server. Then leave the enemy territory.

On each segment of the path there will be traps and obstacles, strong points of the enemy. Using different weapons you need to complete tasks.

If you grew up playing Medal of Honor and other similar games on Play Station 1, this game will certainly take you right back to those golden days.

It is still in early stages so a few glitches and future changes are to be expected. Over all the game is fun, the shooting is done well although here and there, there are some of the terrain issues interfering with the shooting. But I’m sure that it will get sorted out in future patches.

The movement is fun, kind off like a mixture between most other major FPS games like the older CoD’s and MoH’s, and games like the original Quake games and similar other games. Again, a few minor terrain interferences and some of the enemy movements and animations can be improved, but nothing major and of course I’m sure they will be sorted out as future patches comes out.

I stopped playing FPS games around the time Battlefield 4 became really big. It got too intense! The maps got too big and there were too many players in every match. You can’t spawn without being F*%#ed by a tank or chopper… I missed the simpler times of fast “Arena” based FPS games like the older call of duty’s. That’s exactly what GRUNT1914 is! The maps are small but big enough to snipe in and although some of them are still a bit buggy, they feel fast and smooth. The guns seems to be accurately modeled after real guns from this era, however the sounds of some of the guns can still improve!

Tactical Combat Department

Tactical Combat Department

Definitely recommend this game. As many have said, it takes inspiration from games like SWAT, Doorkickers and Xcom. What I find most unique is the shooting system that doesn’t work on a % chance based on stats (like most turn based games). Instead it randomises where the bullets go based on the weapon and experience of the shooter. Think doorkickers in this aspect, meaning you may hit something between you and the target, or even hit something behind them. The unique part comes in this being a turn based game using that system. I personally haven’t seen something like that before.

Good game! It’s an innovative tactical game with Swat theme in turn based design. You can work with 5 members in your team. In this game is interesting weapon fire system. It’s based on skills of your member and accuracy of weapons. But projectiles fly from weapons, you can hit other civilians or your team member. This is good!

Price is very friendly and fair! Recommended!

If you like Doorkickers and you want to play another Doorkicker’s game, play Doorkickers. If you want to play xcom or big turn based strategy with base building play Xcom, Xenonauts etc. But if you want to play something new and interesting, play this small but interesting game.

Over last two years, this game has grown tremendously. Great community and sportsmanship by the majority of players. Best advice …. ask a good player online for some helpful tips and communicate during game play!! Look me up, always willing to assist gameplay. “firedawgsr” goes by firedawg. Peace!

Contractors is extremely underrated. If you like fast paced shooters you’ll love this game.

There’s a long list of modern guns with a wide variety of modern attachments. There’s also a list of WWII guns with some WWII attachments like bayonets and scopes for the sniper rifles.

You can slide in game if you crouch when you are sprinting and you can also hop to peak over walls.

There’s mod support and a huge list of custom maps so that you can play on your favorite COD/Halo maps.

Pretty much every, if not all guns can 1 tap someone to the head, allowing you to pull off crazy outplays and clean pistol kills.

Invasion Machine

Invasion Machine

This game has great potential, but only if it is supported, hence my ‘recommended’ review. Considering this is the work of a single developer it is very impressive!

At the time of writing last edited (Jan 2021), it’s a fun sandbox, missing a campaign, but the core elements are great.

Combat feels very well designed, with troops accuracy varying with movement and stress, and their survivability varying with cover and position. Troops will retreat or flee, seek cover and find their own lines of sight to enemies, which is great, but at this stage in development, the AI is just not able to babysit them effectively. This game expects you to micromanage your troops in contact to avoid them going splat too easily. There are locals that require aid and an interpreter to speak with and you can even call in an attack run from an A10. Brrrrrrt!

Real player with 21.9 hrs in game

Don’t normally leave reviews, but this game merits mention.

Invasion Machine is a realistic strategy-tactical game set in an unnamed middle-eastern country after the invasion is complete. With outdated gear (though advanced compared to the insurgents you face) and few men initially, you have to begin the process of stabilising your little patch of desert, by suppressing the insurgency and military remnants and growing support for your movement through social projects and aid distribution. Against you, an insurgency seeks to keep the support of the local populace and eventually force you out of the region, and command is breathing down your neck to stabilise the region.
