I’ve been searching for different space simulator games, and this game is definately on the list of REQUIRED games to play. It’s one of a kind in it’s simplicity, and is the absolute answer to “asteroid 3d”. Other games introduce many mechanics that make them their own, or more specially categorized, but this game is alone in ACTUALLY OFFERING “asteroid 3d” flight mechanics. use a game controller, and get used to using the “radar” to change direction towards your objectives right away. (you can’t see anything out the window for now,,, hopefully windows vr will be a plan, so you can at least look to each side,,,, and of course your top will be a good reason to start rolling so up is front)

So, after less than 5 hours, I’ve finished the tutorial… and the game, since so far, the game IS the tutorial.

Yet, I recommend it for anyone who enjoyed Lucasarts X-wing/Tie-fighter as a kid and the piloting part of KSP.

Here are a few pros and cons :

Pros :

  • The innovative realistic piloting system

  • The animations (bullets, missiles, explosions, …)

Cons :

  • The lack of rewarding feedback (U will never know if you’re hitting an ennemy ship until he has 0 hull point).

  • The absence of a campain mode (so far !)

GunWorld VR

GunWorld VR

Best weapon mechanics I’ve ever experienced in a VR game. A lot of you will be comparing this to H3VR, I played both of them, and thoroughly enjoyed them. I don’t care what anybody thinks, nothing simulates the weight, feel and kick of firing a weapon better than Gunworld. It can feel a little clunky because it really tries to simulate the weight of carrying a weapon, and trust me, that shit is heavy IRL.

This is a pretty fun little shooter. huge selection of weapons and attachments. you can spend hours trying out all the weapons and just getting a feel for how each of them work. the interactions on each weapon is pretty cool, there’s so many of them. fire select, safety, load, unload, chambering, clearing, mag release, turning on and off attachments, down to even being able to individually load single rounds into a mag or chamber. the physics feel good and the SFX arnt too bad at all.

This game is fucking awesome. I don’t really know what to say about it but this game feels really good, its fun, has a nice community, mods. the game feels realistic but very easy for anyone to pick up and improve, most of the technology in-game actually exists irl, but in-game its very simplified

great game, tons of amazing modded maps and planes. if you like any flight sim get this. its controls are super easy to learn, understanding weapons may take some time but you will learn it pretty fast if you just watch a couple videos and play with them yourself.

A great game with a great community. If you get bored of the main game, you can go into both mapping and modding. Both can be just as enjoyable as normal gameplay, and people on the official Discord will help if you have any problems. Absolutely recommended.

UPDATE the devs have been constantly updating the game adding multiple levels and changes that make the game far better than it was on my original review. the belt issue is pretty much completely solved allowing much easier reloading while moving and snapping to your hand for drawing your handgun or magazines. the new courses and target implementation is fantastic and the tournaments are a welcome addition as it really does help simulate some of the stresses of an actual competition. all in all im very happy with the game and all the improvements that have been implemented as well as how responsive and active the devs are to suggestion and criticisms from actual competative shooters like myself.

This game is pretty fun, but it’s not worth $30. The gun mechanics and handling are super clunky compared to Hot Dogs, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, which offers extremely easy movement while still being able to operate every function on the firearm. The movement in this game is really hard to get used to as well, I wish they would offer different movement options like armswinger and let you remap firearm functions to the touchpads instead of buttons. The levels are great and there are a lot of them. There should be an option to mute music, it gets really annoying after a short period. I do like this game, but again, not for $30. H3VR has been $20 for like 5 years now and it’s the most realistic shooting simulator available. The only thing this game has that H3VR doesn’t are the different 3 gun courses, but with mods you can set up your own courses with targets anywhere you want, and that’s eventually going to be in the vanilla game with the ability to save your courses. If you think this game is awesome, please check out H3VR. It gets updated almost weekly and has hundreds of different firearms and explosives and attachments to customize firearms, it’s so much fun and never gets dull.

Warplanes: WW1 Fighters

Warplanes: WW1 Fighters

I’ll start by saying it’s a REALLY fun game. Lots of missions, lots of planes, lots of upgrades. Well worth the price. however, there are several really annoying things about it. This is all in the campaigns.

1. planes with gunners are DUMB. I’ll line up right behind an enemy plane for him to take out, and he’s shooting way off to the side at some dumb thing in the distance. Enemy bombers RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU about to take out your base and lose you the game? That’s not a priority for him, he’s wasting ammo at a plane way off to the side in the distance. Strafing run lined up with a clean shot for him at AA guns? doesn’t matter, he wants to shoot the damn balloons until the AA guns kill you both. I don’t know what criteria is used to decide what he shoots at, but it’s way off. There’s only one plane on the screen and he’ll find one off screen to shoot at. jeez, it’s aggravating. He also likes to overheat the gun failing to lead a plane, then when it’s lined up nicely, he’s got an overheated gun and just sits there missing the clean shot. His stats are absolutely maxed out too. This is the BEST he gets.

Updated Review:

If you’re coming to this expecting a faithful sim of wrestling one of these kites through bouncy air – well that’s not what this is. That game deserves to be made, but this is something else.

While there is HOTAS support, using the default VR controller to grab a virtual stick is unique and perfectly efficient. It’s actually a very well-done control system. And.. your other hand is free to grab a flare gun. OMG the flare guns. No they’re not for just taking out barrage balloons. Tired of eating lead from a bomber’s defensive guns? Blow him up with a flare from below. Enemy fighter suddenly zooming at you and you can’t get your nose around? Quick draw that flare gun and bust one in his ass as he’s going by. It’s actually hilarious fun.

I think I am the player who has been playing this game for the longest time ever (most of them spent on building stuff in creative), and I did enjoy it and had high hopes. But still…

Abandonware

Several serious bugs exist, including one that makes airships pretty much unplayable.

The Devs have been informed of those bugs for months but no action was ever taken.

They also stated on Discord that the May update is going to be the last update, so consider it officially abandoned.

Severe Lack of Content

A very good game.

Important notes:

Movement:

Movement on the ground for wheeled/tracked vehicles is generally pretty good, the only issue i tend to have is the velocity being canceled completely by trees/random geometry such as rocks. Movement also feels very slow/tanky however i think that fits the game just fine. Sea/Air movement works perfectly well, though i couldn’t get a walker to work.

Building/UI/Keybinding:

I have a few nitpicks about it, namely with not enough keybinds/options for keybinds in the building menu, and not being able to press esc to exit out of some menu prompts. There are some bugs here, as you might guess from an early access game, but aside from the occasional incorrect mirroring, it works just fine.

I pirated this game from Google, but after playing it for a while I decided to just buy the game to support the developer bcs this game is just super fun, after just 40 hours of playing this game I can say I love it the designing of the hull and turret is simple but is still fun, I’ve already made about 20 tanks just from WW1, the only problem with this game is that it’s empty and lacking a lot of other features that I would like in the game, I understand that it’s only made by one person so I can wait for as long as possible so that he can improve this game a lot, so I’ma just list the problems I have with the game:
