Heliborne Collection
This is a shortened version of a longer review I wrote of the game - Steam didn’t have enough room for all of the gushing praise I have for Heliborne. This was written in August of 2018, but I’ve adjusted it to account for recent updates.
Heliborne is a helicopter action game similar to World of Tanks or World of Warplanes, but with no real micro-transactions (skins can be purchased, both with real money and experience points, but they are purely cosmetic). Players are introduced to a series of NATO (primarily American) and Russian helicopters, beginning with piston-driven craft that handle like flying barges armed with simple machine guns to sleek modern attack choppers with guided missiles. Each chopper handles differently and mastering their unique characteristics is a lot of fun. The flight model is definitely more arcade than sim, but each bird has real heft and momentum in flight. Getting from point A to point B (or, should I say, LZ 1 to LZ 2?) isn’t terribly difficult, but doing it with style? Coming into a hot LZ at speed to drop troops under heavy fire? That takes a little bit of practice. A basic understanding of the physics Grand Theft Auto was able to figure it out fairly quickly.

Arma 3
i have around 4500 hours in this game over around 2 year ( yesss, i got addicted over lockdown ) and have had both good and, well, bad times, however no matter what this game has been alot of fun, from spending 2000+ hours learning how to fly a hummingbird to spending alot of hours learning how to CQC in altis life.
this is not a game you can just play and understand in a few mins, you’ve got to put time and effort into it.
theres a variety of modes to play and alot of downloadable mods that can make the experience best for everyone depending on what you want.

One of the best purchases for video games i ever made. While yes the engine is a little bit buggy at times, this game is by far one the best wartime simulators around. Arma 3 has provided me with many hours of enjoyment either playing single player or multiplayer. The editor is a fun, great and enjoyable tool with many possibilities. This game has pretty much infinite play ability due to the modding community and the Steam Workshop. I can go on forever with many positives…
In Short:
Buy Arma 3

Battlefield 4™
Battlefield 4 is a really fun game to play has lots of vehicles, maps, and guns u can choose from. I recommend the premium edition because of the maps and easter eggs, guns, camos, and all other cool stuff. There will be days when u will die inside because of the little bird farmers playing farming simulator, but it’s still the best battlefield game I have probably played. Because of all the things u can do in the game, like go to the moon with a bike in silk road, Kill tanks by ramming into them with a C4 bike, camping with a 40X scope, and shooting enemies to another part of the map, and when u hit someone u will feel something special. Playing with friends is another fun thing to do, like flying with a transport heli, killing anyone u see with an M134 Minigun shooting 6000 rounds per minute at them while listening to fortune songs. Another fun thing to do with ur friends is to, get a vehicle on top of a tower, on the map of shanghai. I could keep on going with all of the things u can do in battlefield 4, but I’m too lazy to type them all out. I would give this game an 11/10.

I played my first bf ever(bf4) this year(2021) because all my friends were playing it to get hyped up for 2042. I fell in love with this game. It is so much fun with such great pacing and weapon action that I really can’t compare it to anything else. It’s truly a legendary game. Since I started playing bf’s, I also played hardline, bf5, bf1, bad company 2, and most recently 2042. When 2042 flopped I had a bf shaped hole in my heart. I have, in the last two weeks, returned to bf4 and I don’t even care to play anything else.

Squad
Awesome game in itself, but sadly it is infested by powertripping wannabe squad leaders who will micromanage your every step and/or instantly kick you out of the squad whenever you are trying to play the game, they often even want to dictate what role or weapon or even what scope you can use, its really REALLY hard to find a good squad with a good squad leader who lets his teammates play the game.
The most amusing part of it all is that these squad leaders are usually the worst casual boomers who have no gamesense or aim whatsoever, if they make bad calls thats on you not on them :D

Squad provides an interesting balance of resource management and combat. Often in firefights you feel like you’re in the middle of a much larger battle; at the same time, very realistic damage models for vehicles, bullet penetration, etc. leave you often having to work around larger threats in your area. This has also led to some really cool impromtu mid-game missions, such as protecting a tracked Abram’s tank and then providing cover for it while we advanced down a street in Fallujah. There’s also a limited but active modding community adding cool content such as “hardcore” game modes, “star wars” battles, and night-vision fights, along with the ever-classic zombie game.

Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead
Definitely one of the best simulator games this platform has to offer. Besides DayZ mod you can do so much more like Wasteland (base building and pvp gamemode), make custom missions, player made maps and playing around in the armory with your friends in an online server. Pretty good singleplayer, although I think the multiplayer with all it’s gamemodes is where this game truly stands out. If you missed out on the hype and still want to play DayZ mod, I would highly recommend Overpoch by CCG. Either Taviana or Chernarus are both great maps for this mod. Taviana being the best in my opinion.

Brought it for DayZ
Played for at least 2000 hours (Steam didnt count most of it due to me not launching it through there)
Most of my time spent in this game was playing dayz epoch, which is hands down my most favorite game (or mod, whatever) of all time, it is basically DayZ (google it if you dont know what it is, which in that case you must of been living under a rock) with base building, YOU CANT GET ANY BETTER!
I also played all of the single player campaigns and DLC campaigns, which are good and all, but not the best story.

Mutant Ops
Read the Review First
In no way is this “mutant ops” unenjoyable so this is going to be a weird jump back and forth between the good and the bad. Let’s just start with the bad, and my own pretentious manner as I restrain myself from saying that this isn’t a game. I feel that it’s to elitist of a statement. Because this is technically a video game, but it’s only about an hour of that experience.
The Graphics
It’s quite jarring to see how much a difference in quality this game is, as if the company decided that instead of collaborating with their fellow laborers, they’d give everyone an individual task. The opening cut-scene is of such notably higher quality, that it makes the game just look odd, I’m sure that this game’s polygon nature makes it look odd to begin with; I see nothing wrong with the style. Perhaps I’ve fallen for the trap of this season’s art style as the video game industry falls in a rut similar too Cartoon Network’s “Cal Arts” debacle. All the shows looking kind of the same whether it’s because the teachers are teaching a single art or everybody’s being inspired by the same piece. Everything starts to blend together, it’s obviously intentional because it seems to be working. Where Adventure time may have been original and charming in it’s art, everything started to fall inline. If one were to take a look at the pilot episodes for Steven Universe and Regular show, you’d see a much different concept. But then came Uncle Grandpa, Wander over Yonder, that show about the Peanut and the Pickle, Sanjay and Craig, Star and the forces of Evil, Over the Garden Wall, Gravity Falls, Craig of the Creek, OK KO, and Mao Mao Heroes of Pure Heart: All ooze some similarity that has allowed it the seat that was once filled by the Geometric style artistry of the previous animation era. Yet here we are where Mutant Ops is taking into account the look and popularity of games like Valheim, Hydroneer, deep rock galactic, Inscryption, or any of the countless indie horror games that look for better or for worse the same. And I dig that shit up. I don’t know why it just looks so good too me, maybe it’s reminding of a better time. A time long before Covid where my evil withdrew, before Trump the fool who seeks to return to the past, before someone flung the the portal open to critical race theory and I understood true sadness. Evil me be like “I like video games.” The truth hurts sometimes but also sometimes the truth is nice and truthfully I probably bought this game just because of how it looks. I mean fuck people still play Minecraft and that shit got into Super Smash Brothers. Fuck you Sakurai I wanted better characters, because my opinion is good and right. I feel like after 2 DLC’s I only like 3 characters. While showing this game off to some friends, my friend Slime pointed out, (and no, this is not a paid advertisement from Crunchyroll) something quite interesting, it would seem, to the unresearched, that the games assets were made by different people, due to their difference in appearance and detail. That perhaps this underpaid group of programmers did not communicate properly before providing a segmented quality of a game to their corporate overlord. However, with a little research and understanding, one would find that it’s harder to find any sort of free asset on the Unreal Engine vs others, and that only 1 animator is attributed to the project, along with the fact that most of the crew are fresh out of high-school. Which admittedly gives this game a charming bias. Yet still, it’s hard to imagine that one person designed all these assets, as they are vastly different in quality. The streets, buildings, enemies, guns, humans, cut-scene, cars, and other vehicles all have a different level of quality, perhaps our designer has been working on this project all the while working on their own skills. As if one is no longer the same version of ones self from any given day to another. Seeing as this game is still probably being worked on, when it’s finished I’ll probably go back and play it, and maybe even change the review to a recommended to help all the idiots who don’t read the reviews first, but I’m not going back and rewriting this shit, I mean, look at all the stuff I’ve already put into it.

This game has a lot of potencial. As a constantly improving game, I am adding some ideas, and I hope they get included in the game.
-
Balance changes: Late game, some weapons are OP, and some are garbage. For example, P2000 ans Little Devil, they both cost the same, but one is useless after wave 40. Try to balance the weapons, so each one has a meaning to exist.
-
Make the game harder (or add easy, medium and hard modes), running in this game is game changer. There is no monster faster than you, so the game starts to get boring after wave 40. Some ideas are, add a boss round every 5-10 round, decrease the running speed or increase the monster speed and health. Also, you could make opening spaces cost money, so there is more trouble early game.

Delta Force: Black Hawk Down
a fun old game with flaws. it has a lot of crazy features like animal attacks. on levels where you’re in africa for instance there are alligators/crocodiles that swim around in the water and lay on the banks of rivers. if you come too near them or aggravate them they might attack you, even while youre already fighting other humans. i dont think you can drive any vehicles in this game, but you can use the gunner’s position on humvees, blackhawks and rhibs. the levels are all pretty linear but you usually have a decent amount of room to maneuver. this game is somewhat realistic in that on the higher difficulties you die in one or two shots and most enemies die with the same number. there are also civilians in this game. some cry and hide, some throw rocks at you, some yell insults. theyre pretty hard to distinguish from the enemies. usually the only way you can tell a civilian from an enemy is by what theyre carrying. one cool thing about the delta force games is that the helicopters are done similar to certain counter-strike maps in that you can walk around inside the helicopter while its flying and you arent strapped into a seat like in a battlefield game. the delta force games also have the coolest scope system ive ever seen in any game.

You’re probably familiar with the budget tactical shooter series called Delta Force. Black Hawk Down is the 6th installment of the series and inherits all the good things about the previous titles and executes them pretty well. Unlike the previous titles all your campaign missions take place in one country: Somalia.
The Visuals.
BHD has it’s own engine and runs at DirectX8, 4:3 aspect ratio resolution. I managed to get it up to 1200p, it refused to go above. All widescreen solutions stretch / cut off the screen. Considering that it’s budget titles made in 2003 the visuals are fine. Decent textures, fine poly count and nice drawing distance (like in every other DF title). Framerate is unlimited. Game is compatible with pretty much all Windows versions.

Grunt1914
If you grew up playing Medal of Honor and other similar games on Play Station 1, this game will certainly take you right back to those golden days.
It is still in early stages so a few glitches and future changes are to be expected. Over all the game is fun, the shooting is done well although here and there, there are some of the terrain issues interfering with the shooting. But I’m sure that it will get sorted out in future patches.
The movement is fun, kind off like a mixture between most other major FPS games like the older CoD’s and MoH’s, and games like the original Quake games and similar other games. Again, a few minor terrain interferences and some of the enemy movements and animations can be improved, but nothing major and of course I’m sure they will be sorted out as future patches comes out.

I stopped playing FPS games around the time Battlefield 4 became really big. It got too intense! The maps got too big and there were too many players in every match. You can’t spawn without being F*%#ed by a tank or chopper… I missed the simpler times of fast “Arena” based FPS games like the older call of duty’s. That’s exactly what GRUNT1914 is! The maps are small but big enough to snipe in and although some of them are still a bit buggy, they feel fast and smooth. The guns seems to be accurately modeled after real guns from this era, however the sounds of some of the guns can still improve!
