Iron Conflict

Iron Conflict

Iron Conflict is a Real Time Strategy game which is solely focused on multiplayer. Fighting in 10 vs 10 battles, you and your teammates each take 3 types of units with you and battle it out. Either wipe the enemy out, or win Victory Points by holding points.

With Wargame / Steel Division vibes, with a hint of Men of War, wrapped up in an XP / Gold grind of War Thunder, you start with a limited selection of units to choose from, but eventually upgrade and unlock new units for your pleasure. You can spend in game currency earned from battles to equip your units to make them stronger, faster or more lethal.

Ok let it be said, at the time of writeing this review this game is in a early access Beta test you buy into for 15 bucks in exchange for a founders pack of goodies. However dont let that put you off. This game combinds elements from several games, World of Tanks, War Thunder, Total War Arena, iv seen people make comparisons to men of conflict.

Iron Conflict is a Real Time Tactics game where you control 3 units on a team of 30 untis with 9 other people on your team. At the time of writeing the game currently has 2 maps and 2 game modes and will most likely have more in the future. The 2 game modes are capture the enemy base, and for those that play world of warships or war thunder, capture flag points on the map, first 1000 points wins. Matches are Quick and getting back into the actions quickly is as simple as spending a small fee on repairing you vehicles after the match (yes this game has repair times like war thunder, but they are cheep and quick if you dont want to pay.)

This game is a pure example of what is wrong in the “Steam Greenlight” independent game industry. And mostly, what kind of trivial mistakes, the dervelopers, are doing in the process of developing an “indie game”.

First, about this “game”. It’s suppose to be a MOBA type FPS but the “game” is in this stage practically from the beginning with no actual or visable updates. The only visable change was the changing of the name of this “game” from RiP to AXYOS. Yes, I know that the “game” is in “Early Access” but it’s not, even, in an Alpha stage. I keep saying “game” with quotation marks because there is no game at all. Yes, the “game” looks like in the screen shots but that’s it. Only nice characters models, some weapons and some textures made with the UnReal DevKit. And that’s it!

The game itself? Great in appearance and has potential. However, that says little as many great games have been ruined by their publishers. And while in a single player game, that may not matter, in a multiplayer game, it is fundamental that the publishers understand the importance of not harassing their userbase. This review will not even touch how the game is at this point as with no players, you cannot adequately test a competitive multiplayer game.

This review will go briefly over what happened that I have to state the above:

i Decided to Write a new review, the old one will be here for anyone who cares, but do note the original words i typed was like few weeks ago or more. so updates come out and balances arrive, the game as it is today is alright, some things are still unacceptable however thats how all games are, its gonna have that one thing you do not like, but the game can be enjoyable and the dev’s have been trying hard that ive seen to make it as balanced as possible.

Pro’s and cons as of now with fresh perspectives:

It’s not a good game. But it is a fun game. And that’s what’s important right?

Most of the reviews seem to cover the gameplay pretty well, so I mainly want to talk about whether or not players who spent more money or have been playing longer have an advantage. Is the game pay 2 win? Yes, definetely. But I didn’t spend any money on the game and I have no problem wiping the floor with 90% of the players I come across, whether they are paying players or not. And there is nothing that affects game balance that cannot eventually be earned for free. Some would call this more of a “pay2skip” system where you can pay to accelerate your progression.

After over 1200 hours this game needs a proper review. I started this by accident one day when I was bored around a year ago. Now because of this I can’t play other games cause I have no time left for them. I will give you some facts, good and bad, all mixed up as I go so hang on with me. This will be a long review, very very long. (I even hit the max character amount so had to shorten it)

When you start the game, it will be hard. You will be playing against bots at first and even they will slaughter you. If by luck you get matched against a long time player you will be shouting CHEATER!! No, he is not cheating he just understands the game mechanics. When I first saw another player play like that I wanted to be him. Now after all this time people who seemed like gods at the time are cannon fodder, at least some :-)

What are the differences between WoWS and SO?

That is a huge question… So a Huge Comparison wall of text is Incoming. But hey, at least it is better than “Oh mah gawd __ is obviously better!” without anything else? And there is a TL;DR.

To open: I was a part of the first wave of WoWS CBT (Prior to the buy-your-way-in) and had been a part of the Closed Alphas for WoT and WoWP. I played until SO came out in November of last year and have been playing SO more than WoWS since then other the odd WoWS match now and again or the the occasional “Lets do Warships to get an event ship” sort of thing (ARP Haruna, Kirishima, etc.). Since then, I now have 1,355.2 Hours in SO. So I’ve a bit of experience playing both games for some time, and am familiar with the business practices/trends that WG has shown since Tanks came out.

I will be honest and objective !

The game is undeniably fun to play regardless of your " usual " game y’re used to .

If you play with your friends most of the time i can tell you for certain , you’ll have a good laugh try it out !

The game is easy to learn , hard to master ( which isn’t a bad thing at all ! ).

The Art-style isn’t the usual , TF2 Wanna BE or something , its kinda unique

It has controller support , and many languages too !

The Weapons might seem unbalanced to some people , but the variety makes it just fine until the devs

I’ve been playing this game since late beta and heres why its one of the best in my opinion:

  • Its not pay to win and will never be.

  • Can be played either competitively or casually and both are fun.

  • Can be played in different play styles depending on your preference.

  • has one of the friendliest communities out there.

  • Playing customs with friends is super fun.

  • Devs are super friendly and care about the community.

  • The cosmetics are so good.

UPDATE: Now that I have 170+ hours in the game and Parallel Space has stated that there will be no major changes to BSA until full release, I think it’s time for me to give an update.

Simply put, the effort put into BSA’s weekly updates has been phenomenal. The team at Parallel Space is extremely responsive to community feedback, and the weekly updates (that have since stopped for now) provide enough new content or changes to keep the community excited. Parallel Space stated that they wanted the community to shape the game, and I personally believe that they listen to our opinions (much to the chagrin of Hades' Star players).

It’s only right that I update my review from Early Access to address the state of the game as it is now. As always, if you’re the type of person who immediately gets furious when they encounter a mobile game in the world (regardless of how well designed or deep it is) then this isn’t for you. That’s okay, there’s plenty of other games out there.

If you’re still here, this is my pitch:

Parallel Space is very good at taking familiar genres, cutting to the heart of what makes them fun to play, and polishing that experience to a mirror shine. Their games reward patience and thought.

Fun little time waster, but has a few obvious problems.

1. Can’t make it full screen, so you get a very small windowed game

2. On exit of the game, it says “exit Battle Copters?” Battle Copters is a free to play game on Android, which makes this feel like a cheap ripoff OR a crappy port. Basically I feel like I wasted 5 bucks for a game that is the size of an Android game on my PC able to handle ultra mode in 4k….

Otherwise, great game, lots of fun!

NAVYFIELD

This is the father of all naval games, yes it may be grindy but that’s all MMOs.

Pros:

FANTASTIC ship customization(no custom paints or skins but you can fully customize your weapon load, ammo, etc)

Friendly graphics that are still appeasing but easy on low end PCs

Great sounds/music

Sim-cade gameplay (combines realistic and arcady style of play) You can choose if you want to set your gun angles by ourself instead of the auto aim function, along with things like belt armour, deck armour, etc.

Huge selection of ships in which some can be remodeled into more powerful or different ships of it’s class (ex: The Admiral Hipper CA can be remodeled to Prinz Eugen)

Do i enjoy the game? YES!

Old vet since start of the game and played nfeu later on. Now back thanks to steam.

Pro’s

  • arcade style battles (quick)

  • low demands on pc requirements (to low for todays standards)

  • diverse community

  • games 24/7 cause people from the whole world are in 1 server (does have lag when chinese play )

  • for old players its mostly the nostalgic value that counts.

Con’s

  • The game is so old that you cant run fullscreen unless you force it through your monitor

  • alot of crashing (not for me personally)
