Urizen Frosty Plus The New Warriors
Lucky me gets to write the first review for Urizen Frosty Plus The New Warriors. This expressive word salad of a title is certainly interesting, but unfortunately more effort was put into the title than the actual game. This is a 2D retro pixel platform brawler where you take your choice of retro pixel “warrior” and bash up various undeads and ghosts and things through traditional 2D retro platformer hack and slash kind of stuff.
This game was launched almost 3 months ago and has zero reviews. So kudos to the developer for not using fake/compromised accounts to write fake positive reviews. I see that a lot, it’s bad. In a similar vein, while this was slapped together with the godawful abomination and insult to all that is good and right in gaming, GameMaker Studio, it’s not a template flip, that I can see. The vast majority of GMS games on Steam are simply copy+pastes of tutorials, demos and templates. It really seems they made a genuine attempt at a video game here (with 54 different sprites to choose from and 69 levels, apparently), they just didn’t really know how to or have the budget to hire proper developers. A+ for effort, though.

The Bounty Huntress
Killed the troll to get the yellow key. Troll drops the yellow key, I grab the yellow key, it disappears completely from the game and I cannot progress anymore. This happened 4 hours into the game. I am done with this game for good. This is not really a final product, a ton of stuff needs to be improved.

Unique Gameplay Elements:
The core design of this game features a unique twist on world progression and game difficulty. The player can choose to take on any area of the game at any time in any order. Defeating bosses will grant the player a new weapon and increase the player’s maximum weapon energy. However, the player is not the only one to get more powerful with each boss defeated. All enemies will increase in power level, this effects their health and damage but also their behavior. Enemies become smarter as the game progresses!
Not only do enemies become more difficult but the stage hazards do as well. Hazards will deal more damage, have altered behavior and generally are faster and tougher to deal with. So tackling different areas of the game at different points of progression can yield a very different experience for the player. On top of all that, bosses also power up similarly to enemies. So the order in which you fight the bosses will matter a lot in terms of difficulty. With this system, the game won’t get easier as you progress like a lot of similarly non-linear action games do.
These features also allow for great replayability!

Terrene - An Evidence Of Life Game
Welcome
I am someone who grew up with a lot of (actual) floppy disk games and stuff like that. Back then there was no such thing as DLC or updates to keep someone coming back. A game had to be hard but fair and stand on its own merits in order to make it worth a purchase. Think about any time you have been playing a roguelike, RPG, JRPG, ARPG, or Action game and have received a big upgrade, character gets stronger, you feel stronger. This is what I am trying to convey here. In order for a game to feel worth it to me I need to feel like that game respects my time as a gamer, this is even more important the older you get.

This game was unexpectedly immersive. It also weaves together a few different genre styles in a very cohesive way.
You play as an astronaut tasked with collecting resources from a procedurally generated planet. Your main hub is a static station in space; where you park your spacecraft, store resources, and upgrade things.
From there, you use your spacecraft to travel back and forth between your hub and the planet. Your ship is equipped with weaponry, and that’s where the shmup aspect comes in. You’ll be tackling asteroids, and a good variety of enemies ranging from small to boss-level.

Adventures of Chris
Adventures of Chris
Adventures of Chris is a 1990s inspired platforming adventure with great humor, a awesome soundtrack and amazing artwork. While it draws a lot of inspiration from the classics, it manages to do its own thing with style.
What might look like a simple platformer at first glance will soon prove to be a hard but fair gaming experience depending on your difficulty settings and will give you a storyline that is easy to love and dream oneself into.
Gameplay
You start off with a fun intro, followed by a helpful tutorial that both teaches you the controls and explain the story further.

I discovered this game randomly on YouTube, and I really do hope more people find it.
On the face of it, it looks like a simple platformer, with a gimmick of a portly protagonist, and I was a bit worried at first that this would just pick on that element of him. And, well, it does. But it does it in a way that allows the eponymous Chris to rise above it (pun intended), overcoming his own insecurities to become a hero that those around him didn’t think he could be. And the platforming is anything but simple.

Jonah Weingarten’s Ninja Brigade
The Story
Musician Jonah Weingarten wanders the streets at night after a show. An arcade hall catches his eye and he decides to stop there. The arcade station Ninja Brigade captures his attention. But suddenly he is drawn into the arcade station by insert any reasonable science fiction term. Now he is the main character himself and tries to finish the game to return to his world.
The World
The world of Ninja Brigade is set in ancient Japan and features various places. Among them, the castle and landscape of the Edo-jō, a dark cave that has fallen into oblivion, a sinister graveyard forest that turns into a mountain plagued by winds, and even hell itself (in which the final boss could possibly be placed).
Onification
The special thing about Ninja Brigade is the onification of the world. Onification is the infection with demonic energy, causing the world and its population to become unbalanced and even more savage. However, Jonah can use this energy to unleash his inner Oni.
Skills
Jonah Weingarten’s Ninja Brigade is a 2D action platformer in the style of a Metroidvania. Jonah can learn new abilities during his adventure to be able to face the dangers he is confronted with. These include not only the insidious world itself, but also its inhabitants, the Yokai.
Combat
The world of Ninja Brigade is home to a wide variety of Yokai. To defeat them in action-oriented battles, Jonah uses both the speed and agility of a ninja and the strength and brutality of an oni.
Bosses
Each region is guarded by the largest and most vicious Yokai. Defeat this one to advance and steal some of its power. But be careful, always be on your guard and don’t get distracted by their various features (the ones related to combat).
Society
Single-player survival game in a small northen town, with elements of horror.
Take on the role of a military survivor of the nuclear apocalypse who must take care of the survival of his bunker neighbors. Explore the radiation-contaminated city, destroy monsters spawned by anomalous energy, and improve relationships with local factions.
The city awaits you, stalkers!
