Reading Simulator

It’s worth the dollar I got it for, and not much more. Not to put the dev on blast or anything, it’s certainly a good effort, (I know how particular unity development can get!) but it could use some additional polish. The book’s hitboxes are absolutely incredibly finnicky at best, and that motion blur honestly made me a bit sick. Really the biggest thing the game needs is an options menu, to disable motion blur, adjust the bloom of the lighting, turn off the music, that sort of thing! But hey, for a single dollar, it’s a pretty solid frontend to read project gutenberg books from. If you’re feeling particularly ambitious, you could even add some sort of interface to let the user pull in pdfs from their files on disk! Keep up the work, Reading Sim dev!

As a book lover, I really loved the ambience of this library and the selection of classics I could find! There is definitely room for improvement, so I’ll start with that.

  1. It’s hard to find which books can actually be read. I ran around randomly clicking books I saw and only 20 of them were readable (even though there is at least 100). So maybe a shining or glowing function that happens when you hover over a readable book would cut down on that.

  2. It’s hard to tell what books are available. A library catalogue that can be pulled up would help. When you select the book you want to find, an arrow could point at it until you read it.

The Chatters Show Free Version is not a game, it’s a software application that’s erroneously been uploaded to Steam as a game. It’s designed as a free/demo that allows Twitch streamers to make quizzes or something.

Regardless, not a game, so I cannot recommend this to gamers.

Game Theory At Christmas

Game Theory At Christmas

✱This game requires internet to play normally

✱The English of this game is made with Google Translate. My apologies.

In order to participate in the game competition, let’s make a game with the theme of Game Theory. Originally thought so, but due to various complicated reasons. In the end it became a spoof game.

Because the game operation method is very intuitive and simple, I won’t introduce it here.

The game contains a total of six non-zero sum games:

1. Guess the mean 2/3

Enter a number from 0 to 100 .The one who enters the number closest to the average 2/3 of all people’s numbers will get 1,000 coins.

2. Dollar auction

Enter a price of 0~1000 to bid for some coins. The person who bid the highest price wins the bid, but everyone has to pay their bid.

3. Traveler’s dilemma

Enter a number from 0 to 2,000 coins. The one who enters the smallest number will get the same amount of money.

4. Prisoner’s dilemma

All members cooperate, all get 1,000 coins, one betray, traitors get 500 coins, plural betray, all lose 500 coins.

5. Free rider problem

Choose ignore or resist, ignore loss of 300 coins, resist loss of 1,000 coin and terminate the round.

6. Ultimatum Game

Enter 0~500 twice to decide how much money distributed to others. If someone refuses to distribute, you will lose 1,000 coins.

The game will revolve around the above game. The accumulated star coins or snow coins can be used to upgrade characters. Each character can have different effects according to the level. Only by fulfilling the conditions of the level can you advance the plot, so you need to adopt a strategy that can meet the conditions of the level without losing too many star coins and snow coins.

Some levels require the character to reach a certain level to pass the level, so when you are stuck in a level, you can replay the previous level and accumulate star coins to upgrade your character.

Chinese Parents

Chinese Parents

Chinese Parents is an ultra-lite puzzle RPG. There’s a child, and you schedule activities to develop that child’s characteristics (IQ, EQ, Constitution, Memory, Imagination, Charm and Face). This gives you currency to play a minesweeper-like puzzle, which in turn gives you currency to buy new skills to schedule. Rinse, lather, repeat.

The gimmick behind the game is that, after passing the final high school exam, the game loops and you start with a new kid who gets passive stat boosts based on your success. The boost is fairly modest and is mainly determined by your career path and whether you married your high school sweetheart. But, after playing through a few generations, the stacking gains traction and skills become easier to purchase sooner, leading to a better career later. Just like real life.

A review for curious non-Chinese speakers:

This is a turn-based game in which the aim is to guide a Chinese kid from birth all the way to the dreaded College Entrance Exam. Along the way, you’ll have to decide which personal attributes to develop (through playing a light-puzzle game), decide what to study, who to hang out with, and try to balance the expectations of your parents with your own happiness (slack off too much and you’ll provoke their ire, study too hard and you could suffer a nervous breakdown).

Freddi Fish 2: The Case of the Haunted Schoolhouse

Freddi Fish 2: The Case of the Haunted Schoolhouse

BOO!

On a serious note though… I played this when I was of age, and really enjoyed it more than the first one; still enjoy playing it for whenever I want to have some nostalgia.

Another point and click cult classic. This game is more intended for children, as the game is very short, depending what you need to do and where to go.

This time you take a visit to Freddi and Luther’s school house. A ghost is haunting the school and stealing kids toys in the process. Who is the ghost and will our fish heroine and silly sidesick capture it?

Unique things about The Case of the Haunted Schoolhouse:

• It by far has the most songs. It seems like half the characters have a song to sing. Seriously, if your kids (or you) like to sing along to things, this is the entry to get

• There are several different items you can use to build your trap. Which configuration you get each time you start the game is random

• It seems to use more dark colors to highlight the whole “haunted” aesthetic; this leads to some of the prettiest backgrounds in my opinion

Frog Fractions: Game of the Decade Edition

Frog Fractions: Game of the Decade Edition

Many of my friends may describe me as scholarly, educated, a menace to society. In all my years of education not one person, teacher, computer program, textbook, or any other form of education has compared to Frog Fractions. While I once thought I was talented in the act of mathematics, Frog Fractions proved me wrong. In a simple 4th of an hour, I have gained more knowledge than ye average scholar over a lifetime. Luckily this piece of knowledge is free to all, although it is clearly best with the ten dollar expansion, a hat for said frog. It is beyond the simple humans comprehension to describe the experience and knowledge in a four hundred page scholarly article. Please spend as much time as possible in this application, not only is it educational but a gift to humanity as a whole.

Before discovering this game, I was arrogant. What could some silly frog teach me about fractions? Of what use could this game be if my typing skills are already godlike?

How wrong I was.

Thanks to Frog Fractions, I have found a whole new level of understanding. It has unlocked the latent power of my amphibian brain. Name any fraction, and I can calculate it in my head. When I type, I type so fast my old keyboard couldn’t keep up so I had to have one custom-made. This review took me two seconds to type thanks to the skills this game has taught me.

I was here

I was here

The most boring game in the world. Completed the Europe section at easy, normal and hard (which turned out to be not really that hard), but the Commonwealth Of Independent States section at easy level is the most difficult and the most impossible, with facts that offer no clues as to the city concerned at all and the photos don’t really give you much of a clue either, the photos are always of some random buildings that are not very well known or that no-one knows about.

Don’t bother wasting your money. The people at Okinawa Sunrise have absolutely no clue at all about what makes a good game. This is just about the most worst game in the world.

Super Seducer 2 - Advanced Seduction Tactics

Super Seducer 2 - Advanced Seduction Tactics

Super Seducer 2 can be seen as an excellent combination between an amusing and interesting game. I find it to be an upgrade of the first game in the Super Seducer series.

The nature of the game is unique in which I cannot simply give a number of reasons to play it based on important game elements.

Game review: Super Seducer 2 is a tutorial game that gives you advice regarding social interaction (usually for sexual or romantic purposes) with as consequence that the topic of story cannot be addressed since there is not a real story but more a series of scenarios with possible instructions. It is up to the player to select an option among multiple ones in order to achieve the goal of the scenario. In these options there are 3 types of answers: the correct ones, the bad ones (they are incorrect but they do not stop the scenario) and the dead ones (which put a complete stop to the scenarios). The last category has obvious examples and thus it is not unlikely that the player would wish to explore those choices which is proof that the makers do not take themselves too seriously, which would otherwise make the FMV games less pleasant. I found the game to be a good source of information and of memorable laughter so I would really advise to players to play it if they either seek council for social interaction or if they simply want to test their knowledge and have fun with it.

Super Seducer 2 is finally out on Steam!

This game try to expand the first one, so i give a brief description of Super Seducer.

Like the first game it’s a “dating simulator”. The structure of the game is very simple.

In the main menù you can choose between various chapters.

Each chapter is a movie with a real life possible scenario in which you meet women.

In this movie there are some interruptions in which you have to choose between various

possible action or responses. After your decision the next scene will be influenced by your action.

Playing History 2 - Slave Trade

Playing History 2 - Slave Trade

25 hours into this riveting game and I’m still finding more and more things to experience and learn. I love how they implemented childhood games into this educational experience such as Tetris, made me feel like a kid again but now I get to oppress a lower class of society.

I feel as this game has allowed me to become closer to my white roots and really bring out my inner white European. In my 25 hours I have learn so many things that have helped shape me into the human I am today and I think this game is a must pick-up for anyone looking to further their education and to become close to their family tree. For people of colour I also think this would be enjoyable as it may help you get a grasp on how us white people felt the many years ago when we felt the need to oppress the coloured people, I guess we felt threatened in a way and perhaps this can help you understand why. And also give you a view from a slave trader, something no black person would have experienced back then.

Real player with 24.6 hrs in game

Before anything else. The developers removed the tetris with slaves portion of the game so if you are buying it to be edgy, don’t bother.

Now on to the game. Playing History 2 is supposed to be an educational point and click adventure held together by a bunch of little mini games that teaches you about various aspects of the transatlantic slave trade. It’s meant for children so obviously it can’t really get anywhere near the truth of the subject and the end result feels very whitewashed even if that’s not the intention.
