Vugluskr: Zombie Rampage

Vugluskr: Zombie Rampage

In this video I take a look at Vugluskr: Zombie Rampage, a third person zombie shooter.

Don’t get me wrong this is a very low quality game…. but…. I enjoyed it! It’s the level design that won me over. You need to activate these zip lines to complete the level and find the keys. Each zip line requires 15 crystals to activate so you need to play the levels cautiously so you have enough crystals to get out from where you put yourself. It’s quite fun.

Now for the low quality parts… pretty much all the rest. There is nothing (that I have encountered) that was game breaking apart from when I hit escape to try to find options for key bindings only to discover it just leaves the game if you do that. I had to start my video again. :( There’s no jumping, poor shooting animations/sound effects, poor menus, etc, but it was fun and that’s ultimately what it’s all about. So if you don’t mind games that look cheap but play well your in for a treat I think, a cheap one too at $5 USD. Anyway, take a look at the video to really see what it’s like.

Darksburg

Darksburg

I’m writing this review for everyone who is thinking about picking up this game, but isn’t exactly sure yet.

At first I want to give a rough overview about the game and talk about positives and negatives after. Darksburg is an isometric cooperative 4 player game, thats heavily influenced by Left 4 Dead, Warhammer Vermintide and your typical ARPG title or even MOBA.

At the point I’m writing this review we have 3 different gamemodes: coop survival, last stand and PvP.

In the coop survival mode you have to get from point A to point B while defending yourself against hordes of attacking zombies and special infected, finishing different tasks like finding wooden planks and nails to repair a church door.

+============+

Updated based on ‘Going Rogue’ update.

This update is literally a game-changer! The new mode is a loooot of fun, with every single character receiving some great quality of life updates. It used to be ‘Varag is meant to be able to tear people apart’, well… you got what you asked for - now he can! Dolorosa has been an amazing addition (the 5th playable character), with some of the best CC in the game, which you need when there are now hordes of zombies coming for you.

In previous updates the hordes just kind of waited sometimes for you to come near, now they seek you out which feels much more zombie-horror-survival. There have been some minor art improvements which I love (though I am biased as I already love the setting) and oh so much more…

It was a fun experience. I encountered some small bugs. Sometimes, it felt like enemies die without me hitting them. Also, the game could minimize. I think it is because I have two monitors. However, I did not become bored.

Return Of The Zombie King

Return Of The Zombie King

I’ve enjoyed this game so far. It is very much a casual game, but it’s the right kind of casual, where I can play it on a whim to kill a few minutes, set it aside if a level is frustrating me, then go back later and see the trick that eluded me at first. I really like the minimalism of saving your jumps, combined with levels getting frantic and jump conservation being the last thing on my mind as I plow through the stages. The upgrades make traversing the routes increasingly interesting and give incentive to go back and see which levels turn out to be good coin farms with new abilities unlocked.

Return Of The Zombie King is a satisfying 2D runner with simple controls and gameplay mechanics that make you feel like you’re making progress on every run. Your goal is to collect coins, die, upgrade and repeat to make your way back to your kingdom and retake your throne. I finished my first run in 7.1 hours to give you an estimate of the game’s length. It may be slightly more or less for others, depending on their skill level.

If you’re an achievment hunter, you may be tempted to not buy ears or eyes to get all the achievements in one run. I’d advise you not to do this! The levels (particularly the pixel art backgrounds) are so beautiful that I somewhat wish there was a photo mode, so you really don’t want to miss out of that! I’d recommend a second playthrough after finishing the game for the first time, so that you can really appreciate the beauty of it on your first run.

Agony Online

Agony Online

Agony Online is the world’s first ever mix of MMORPG & Battle Royale on a monumental scale that is made by independent developers that want to play their own game. Players can choose to join Battle Royale, or continue playing the Horror MMORPG. The massive 30 Mile / 48 Kilometer apocalyptic island explodes and burns with hell fire killing 100s of players not quick enough to make it to the safe zones.

Discord:

Join our Discord and talk to the Dev Team today! https://discord.gg/8sZdvQD

Story:

Hell has risen and taken over the world, the last of humanity is in hiding. Your family was killed and your child was tortured to death by demons. Satan then cursed you with immortality so you can never leave this Hell on Earth. You kill yourself, but after dying, you always wake up somewhere else. You find out that you’re a part of a prophecy to team up with others like you to destroy Satan in a final battle to save the world.

Movement Information:

In Agony Online supports both WASD & Point-Click movement, whatever sits your style.

10,000 Player Battle Royale Information:

  • All players that register for Battle Royale are teleported randomly across to a 40km/25mile size Battle Island which slowly explodes and bursts into fire as the island becomes unstable.

  • To get weapons and armor, players kill zombies which drop randomized gear. Alternately, treasure boxes spawn which you can also obtain random weapons/armor.

  • To get higher grade gear, you can either hunt players and steal their loot, or kill bosses which also spawn.

MMORPG Information:

  • Upon launch, level cap will be 30, then as the game progresses with more players, we will raise the level cap as we release more content. PvP will be heavy in this game; guilds can declare war and battle anywhere in the open world. With our World War system, every weekend, all guilds fight over an area in a “King of The Hill” style battle. The winning guild that holds the position wins, that guild controls the tax rate across the world and collects all the tax money.

  • Main Story Line: Your body was dragged from a fire into town, you woke up the next day and went back to search for your family, you found your daughter’s body torn apart with your wife still dying. She points to a hill outside before she dies. Satan murdered your family, when you kill one of his possessed vessels, he laughs and curses you with eternal life - now you wake up somewhere every time you die, never escaping Hell on Earth to be with your dead family. Join others like you to get stronger together and save the world that Satan has taken over in a final battle.

  • Side Quests: Story lines can be very boring, we smash the skip button the moment we see it. In AO, we made quests full of memes and jokes.

  • Maybe a crazy homeless guy with crazy eyes wants to order a pizza with gumballs on it and him and his pet cat discuss bitcoin investments.

Mystery Swords

Mystery Swords

Just like the first basic trash title by this ‘developer’ called “Space Adventures” this is nothing more than a game template, an asset flip, a base foundation to start making a game. A bare bones start a thousand miles away from being ready to sell.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANPeSfFbGrg

Just more lazy trash by another lazy guy who wishes he was an actual “developer”. Running a photo copier on a book doesn’t make you an author, and what this guy has done definitely doesn’t make him a “developer”.

Hard to be a King

Hard to be a King

Hard to be a King ( Realm Guardian ) is a voxel strategy game.

You will play a role in a fantasy world and become a lord, rule the land, and protect your people. Assign tasks to everyone. Gathering, hunting, farming, keep your people stay away from starving. Crafting, constructing, build a stronghold to resist the dead army.

Terrain

The terrain of Realm Guardian is voxel based. One kind of cube correspond to one kind of resource. You can DIG a cube to collect its resource ( miner ), or consume resource to BUILD a new cube ( builder ).

Environment

Deer will eat plants when they are hungry. If there are no plants to eat, they will starve and die. So do wolves. As the bottom of the food chain, Plants will keep growing in a slow rate. Of course if men kill all the wolves and protect deer, all the plants would be ate, and deer finally die for starving. Besides, water is another problem. Wolves from different packs may fight for the only water source. ( Don’t worry, human beings won’t fell thirsty because the author didn’t finish this function :P ). Just like the true nature, sun raise up and fall down every day ( Seasons are in planning ). Deer are more active in daytime.

The King

The king won’t do most of works. All he has to do are rebalancing resources, assigning works ect. The King can talk to one to assign task for him. Of course it will break their current work ( The author feel unhappy when he worked in a game company, he interrupted by designers very often )

Realm

Flag banner to claim regin. Flag more banners to enlarge the realm. Most of works ( e.g. mining, building ) can only do in realm. Banners would also support population limit.

Peasants

Peasants would sleep when they are sleepy ( If free bed exists ). Peasant who lack of sleep will get low work efficiency. Nighttime also bring bad influence ( So does author, he hate overtime work ).

When peasants in danger, they will run into the safe area the king designed.

Professions:

  • Chamberlain could report to the king and auto assign tasks to civilians

  • Builder could build blueprints designed by the king

  • Chopper could cut down trees and carry logs into storage

  • Craftsman could craft items or stuffs

  • Forager could gather food or small items like cobblestone in from forest.

  • Hunter could hunt for animals, loot their body

  • Miner could dig redprints marked by the king

  • Smith could forge metal items

  • Tailor could make cotton into complex items

  • Chef could produce processed food

  • Farmer could farm the land and harvest crops.

  • Archer, ranged soldier

  • Infantry, melee soldier

Food

In the early stage of a game, most food come from foraging. But in the middle stage, farming becomes more important. The meaning of chefs are procduce food which support more energy. Especially food would be rotten as time goes by, produce dried food is also a good choice

RollerCoaster VR Universe

RollerCoaster VR Universe

When done well coaster rides can be excellent in VR. Some are outstanding in my view such as Epic Coasters, the excellent indie Ghost Town Mine Ride & Shooting Value, and the indie horror fun Creep Rides. There is an awful amount of naff out there as well. So it was with in trepidation purchasing RollerCoaster VR Universe for less than two quid.

Its not perfect. Some notable issues which I cite with a constructive view are: Shadowy artifacts in the background (mountains etc.) that break immersion by shape shifting, objects such as long grass on the track that appear in your truck (particularly on the ghost town zombie ride), the many objects adjacent to track appear to contrived on occasion. Some rides are better than others, the ocean track could do with more to see (i.e. undersea buildings, caverns etc.), and the zombie track I could feel would benefit from some of it going inside (a building for example) for part of the ride.

Real player with 3.0 hrs in game

Six coasters for three bucks is a pretty sweet deal to be honest and there’s a lot of variety here. Zombies, dragons, an under the sea ride, even space. The city one which was just added today feels a little rough around the edges, but it’s certainly the most creative ending I’ve seen on a city coaster.

Overall, it’s worth three bucks now, and with a little love and smoothing out the rough edges it will be even better. Hopefully the future updates will include more dynamic soundtracks, and hammering out any pop ups or random floating objects like the coral at the start of the underwater ride. Ditto running over the poor fishys. Seriously though, it’s a solid start and most of the rides are at a pretty relaxing pace, so it would be perfect for those who might usually shy away from VR coasters.

Pixel Survivors

Pixel Survivors

So, despite what the game has to offer, as well as any entertainent value it has.

There is one major issue which makes this an “ABSOLULTELY NOT IN A MILLION YEARS!!!” review.

Granted if the details I mention are changed I will gladly change my reveiw to a recommended because this IS a pretty fun game. (As long as you like games that last about as long as a single game of solitare per play)

The issue I have with this game is simple,

You can work on your game for years, have whatever grahics or machanics in it you want, you can even make it actually more entertaining than the price would lead you to think if you know what you’re doing (and no this game is not entertainment value wise worth more than $4 by a long shot) but N-O-N-E of that matters if M-O-S-T your players can’t even get the game to E-V-E-N R-U-N outside your splash screen that says who made the game in the first place.

Disclaimer: This game was provided by the developers and all my opinions are based in the early access stage of the game.

Pixel Survivors is a very nice strategy video game wich reminds me the classic Age of Empires, but this time in 8 bits! The idea is to grow up a little civilization on an island and avoid to let them die.

Strategy games are not my favorite ones but I like this one because it’s not so complicated like others and it’s fun.

The game has a very intuitive interface, anyone could play this game with no need of reading a lot of tutorials. In some way seems to be too basic the tutorial, but for me is just what I need, of course always could be improved. The rest? Well, it’s practise. Also has a complexity, maybe I’m not good in this kind of games but I lost the population several times and only once I could reach 10 people. I sail trying an army! I hate the winter. Kills all the chickens! So, you have to carry on the economy of the game, provide shelter and food. I suggest expanding in a foresting tower, a barn, and a chicken pen at the beginning, because you’ll need a lot of stone and wood for houses then, wheat, barley, etc. Try to focus on the economic balance, and don’t forget the medicinal herbs and.. the graves! Yes, you have zombies here, and that’s fun. The use to kill the population if you don’t have a proper army.
