Hammerheart
Great start to an early access game! The combat is fluid and exciting, and your tactical decisions make all the difference. I especially appreciate the research and effort into providing a historically accurate experience, all around (finally, Vikings done right!). The devs are very responsive to feedback, and have already implemented a couple of suggestions I had. The amount of content is pretty meager at the moment, but that is expected as the game is still very early in development, AFAIK.

Quality game. Developer has clearly paid a lot of attention and passion to it. A good thing to support, a developer who has put in a lot of time and effort into bringing about something like this. It is about as historically accurate as it can be, and the developer, Bennett, is reaching out to reenactors out in Europe for advice over the era. He seems rather knowledgeable on the subject, and I highly recommend that this game be purchased.
As it is still in development, I would like to include that it also has more room to grow even better. Will update this as the game updates.

Unsung Kingdom
It’s a very classic JRPG story that I always love. Graphic and character art are nice. For a free game, the gameplay is smooth and doesn’t have any bugs (Some believe that free things mostly have bad quality but this game is an exception). U can feel that this game is really made with love. If this game got localized to English, I think more people will enjoy this story even though it’s a short one. My only feedback to the dev is the counter window opportunity that last only like 1-2 seconds. Way too fast. Seems it was set for mobile phone (tap action) rather than for PC (mouse and keyboard). I try to hit the counter but most of them time, I always miss it even when I already dragged my mouse as fast as I could.

I waited for the english translation but I forgot about it being released so I started playing today :/
So after maybe 3 hours I completed the game. The only sad thing is that I had Sound Bugs during battles.

Morstairs - Part I : Oath of Fealty
Work in progress !
Inspired by a deep love of Baldur’s Gate as a starting point, Morstairs is a Real Time with Pause RPG set the troubled Kingdom of Loralia.
It is heavily in developement and no release date is planned until the game is perfect.
But you can still show you interest by wishlisting the game !
I am no longer able to work on this game full time, so I am releasing a demo, just to show off, I’ll keep working on it at a slower pace and will update the demo with improvements !

Dreams Of The Elements
Met the dev at a convention, purchased the game before returning home to play it. So far I am having a blast, but I will make another review or update this one after finishing it :)

E.X.P.L.O.R.™: A New World
Really cool and fun dungeon crawler.
The visuals and interfaces are clean and easy to understand. Gamepad support is great and many details like targetting, minimap edge markers and item comparison are just done so well, you really get a sense fort he dev’s passion for this project.
I hope to see more from this dev and I relly hope that this game gets the attention it deserves.

An interesting little blobber.
“E.X.P.L.O.R…” is a true labor of love from developer Beem media. If you’ve played any other classic blobbers (EOB, Might and Magic, Grimrock, etc) you’ll get the picture pretty quickly. Some things that set E.X.P.L.O.R…apart are that it is a much faster playing type game. No grinding, no heavy stat management, no 100+ NPC’s to keep track of. It’s a fairly light playing game, but a good choice if you are in between epic RPG’s and want something a bit quicker to play in between. The gameplay and graphics are much nicer looking in the actual game then what the trailer video depicts. Visually, it’s a hybrid of a cartoony-comic style and traced looking caricatures. I’d say the closest comparison would be to “Sword and Sorcery”, but much simpler gameplay. Progression seems to be fairly quick in the game and will keep you playing a while without getting bored. As I’ve gotten older, incessant grinding has been a turn-off for me in games. “E.X.P.L.O.R…” does a good job of mitigating that problem.

Beastrun
Nice game, good idea and potential genre. It became a part of my screen now since you dont need to do anything during battles.

really great game and concept! I don’t play many games for nearly this long
I wish the progression was unlimited somehow though.. it seems lightning spam covers most top spots? I have one concept strategy that may work but I don’t think the math will add up properly to counter lightning in the end… unlimited progression would just mean that, it would take an exponential amount of time to counter meta strategies (i think?)… (maybe a constantly shifting meta?) just a thought though, it may be tough to implement

Irongate Arena
Continue your family legacy into new and exotic lands, but first prove yourself a worthy commander to the men who have pledged fealty to you. Battle in the proving grounds where humans are not the only fighters trying to knock you on your ass! Will your reward be glory or death?
If you have the strength, journey through the desert where if the heat doesn’t kill you, something or someone venomous just may. If you have the will of a warrior those deadly and toxic creatures may join you and take up your cause of vengeance.
To make it in the harsh, icy, North you must be a wise in deploying the right strategies to defeat your enemies in the Arena. Vikings, elves and witches can be so cold, but not cold enough to turn down a little coin to join your ranks, if the price is right.
Put your team skills to the test and push their limits in order to survive the Inferno. Hotter than Hades itself only the most vile creatures dwell here, along with the strongest arena fighters. If fear has not run your men out, then you may stand a chance, otherwise see yourself cut down by powerful beings capable of wielding great strength and abilities.
You must have strategic cunning when facing Lord Asshat, so that you may reclaim honor to your surname. Will your become the champion your father was or will you fall before your enemies?
Legend of Utorepia
A feature-length retro RPG developed by imayui , in Japan. (First released in 2014)
It is a work that respects the RPG of NES and pursues NES-like.
You can experience a new adventure that is not just nostalgic such as walking on the field of the world map, capturing various dungeons, getting a ship, and crossing the sea of the world, with a mysterious story and world view that goes beyond nostalgia.
story
As the Last Hero, you will be ordered by the King and set out.
You ask, “Where should go?”, The King just says, “Well … isn’t it the Evil King’s Castle? Go to the Evil King’s Castle.”
With an ambiguous purpose, you will travel around towns and dungeons, solving various incidents , and gradually step into the core of the story.
Cannibalistic otters, a great floodgate, bizarre monster swarms, mysterious night theater, a ship traveling in the desert, deep tropical caves, three jinn, secret elixir, sleeping sick daughter … Let’s go to the world of Utorepia!

Right to Rule
Right to Rule is a game where you compete against other players by doing quests, killing monsters and gaining “Right to Rule” points, all with the goal of becoming the ruler of Drakenheim. The game is played in matches with a new victor each time, based on your progress in your game will determine your reward which will carry over via your profile. There will be many options for persistent profile progress for players to unlock, like cosmetics, emotes, even a fully customizable castle the player can decorate with things unlocked by playing.
You have many different options when it comes to taking over the vast kingdom. Pick one that fits your playstyle or try new approaches each time.
-
Fight your way to the throne using any or all combat styles including Melee, Magic, Ranged and Bard
-
Work your way up the political ladder by persuading, manipulating and bribing your way to the top
-
Gain an edge over other players by leveling up non-combat skills such as mining, enchanting, smithing, cooking amongst others.
-
Use these skills to complete a large variety of quests given by the people of Drakenheim.
-
Search all around the Island for hidden or secret areas where you can find special loot such as weapons, armor, spells, and quests.
-
Each game will be unique as quests and activities are randomly selected to be a part of each playthrough.
-
Pick a fight with tough bosses of many different types to win high amounts of Right to Rule and other unique rewards.
-
All players can attack each other at anytime, however that doesn’t mean you always should…
The city of Drakenheim has a handful of guards who will arrest you if you commit violence or, any crime for that matter, against anyone within the city walls. When you get arrested by the guards, you will be jailed and you’ll need to wait out your sentence, missing out on the experience and Right To Rule points you could’ve gotten in that time. When you die, you will need to wait to respawn. The higher your level – the longer the respawn time, so be careful.
You can embark on a quest, which will reward you with possibly special items, Right To Rule points, exclusive access to a previously unreachable area and any other advantage over your rivals. As previously mentioned, every match the available quests will be randomized, so you’ll always have a different playthrough each time.
Each match should last up to an hour, with you competing against multiple players, everyone on their own, each trying to become the ruler before you do. The player who becomes the ruler of The Kingdom of Drakenheim, wins the game.
When you win, you will get various unlocks for cosmetics and rewards according to what you have done in that match.
Siege of Avalon: Anthology
Really fun CRPG, as others have stated. Setting/Atmosphere is pretty on-point for representing a desperate band of defenders in an elongated siege, which only appears to be going further downhill. There are a lot of characters to speak with, most providing backstory or supplementary lore, with a few providing quests/offering to join your party after a certain point
IMO, you really have a good feel on your characters growth. Starting out as a complete amateur you have to take on what is essentially a suicide mission, which would have ended quickly had I not acquired the heal spell & prepared in advance, that sees your character fairly rapidly gain in proficiency in order to survive the coming perils. The AI companions have quirks (looking at you mage NPC that ran into a corner :P) but they do generally provide valuable assistance in engagements which would otherwise be extremely complicated, if not impossible

Imagine my emotion when i found this jewel in the Steam Store. Let me tell you it was a wonderful surprise. Even if the game has some issues about the combat pathfinding, let me remember to you all that this game has been released in the early 2000’s. I recomend this game to everyone who loves long epic adventures with a lot of interesting characters, and days and hours of fun. This game can be played with three different styles to choose, either you can be a warrior mastering the combat skills, or a scout and specialize in stealth and archer skills or a magician dominating all kind of spells. You will also find companions along the story that you can also equip and provide with items and armor and weapons and all sort of gadgets, they will be valuable partners in your adventure. Im very happy that i found this game again 20 years later after trying it’s demo version in the early 2000’s. I was starting to loose hope about finding it again. But now that i found it here, remastered and reforged i just cant’t stop playing it. it’s very similar to Diablo II, but let me tell you, this game is a masterpiece of is time, More dialogues, more stories, the characters and merchants you will find in this game are so numerous and complex, with stories to tell, gossips, and stuff. It’s very rich in every aspect. Please allow yourselves to play this game. It’s a rare wander.
