Castle survival

It’s just impossible at hard level. The game isn’t complete.

a fun simple game, but needs to be rebalanced. The enemy always starts with more gold than you i assume. Every difficulty the enemy was able to spawn more buildings than me. I was just barely able to beat easy and normal, but hard seems impossible to beat. You also earn gold way to slow to really be able to put up a good fight. besides those issues, this game could be fun for a short while.

Silmaris: Dice Kingdom

Silmaris: Dice Kingdom

Silmaris meets the bare minimum for me to recommend it; it took me about 12 hours to beat the game, then another 5 hours to exhaust all the various outcomes, or at least as many as I cared to see. After that, in my opinion, there is little to no replayability.

It was fun and an interesting story, with plenty of choice. I love the idea of dice rolls; its a good strategy and resource management game with (lite) elements of city/kingdom-building as well as the thrill of RNG. And yes, you will die plenty of times before figuring out how to best navigate the decision-making. For me, that adds to the joy of the eventual triumph. However, once you beat the game, you’ve probably seen all the events, and for me, the game is not enjoyable enough to replay after there’s no new surprises.

I played this game for a time and for me it was enjoyable. You play a ruler in a city surrounded by five other cities. Two of them are hostile towards you at the beginning. The rest is neutral. Trying to either subjugate or befriend them is your main goal then. For this goal you have a pick out of a varity of advisors at your disposal. Additional to this politic part you can solve missions on the map, which can provide you with artifacts making your advisors stronger.

Everything works via dices you use in the game. You gain them by either letting your advisors collect more or earn them in missions.

LONELINESS AFTER: Chapter 1

LONELINESS AFTER: Chapter 1

In this game there is a story. The story of one person who is … You can not even immediately determine where he is and how he feels. You can only safely say that he is not comfortable and even scared. Only the darkness surrounding him, strange sounds, seclusion from oneself - all this only aggravates the situation. But that does not happen, he should answer himself to a few questions:

  • Who am I?

  • Where I am?

  • What happened?

This person is called … He does not have a name, he only has himself as a physical entity. He will have to go through the world that surrounds him at this moment, meet with the danger, waiting for him in a motionless sleep, to feel the drama of history that people tell him around. A person seems to be familiar with the place, it evokes some memories, and each time new ones. A new place in the darkness that a person will visit will remind him of something. But, what do these moments mean? Are they real? The question is more than the answers.

The surrounding world is similar to the Middle Ages. A secluded little house, bridges, a small village … The surrounding is imbued with the atmosphere of the past and gloom. The darkness that comes after you. Once the bright trees, now only a contour in the darkness, adorned this world. But all life around froze, only darkness and horrors in it do not doze.

The game has an atmosphere of a dark place, sometimes frightening, which has its terrible and dreary moments. The player, feeling the situation and the proposed circumstances, can feel sadness, sadness, sadness and other feelings *. Difficult to move around the world the player faces dangers, key moments. The player can find items that will help in passing the game, are an integral part of the game. Not finding any objects a player may encounter difficulty passing. Carefully read and listen ** what is happening around.

  • You will not find direct answers in the game, only analytical activity will help you, as a player, to understand what happened.

  • You need to be very careful not to miss important things for the game.

  • Curiosity, immersion in circumstances - all this will help you to find the right decision.

  • Absurdity, complexity, incomprehensibility - all this will haunt you in the game.

  • Does not affect all players, only a certain percentage. The effect is not guaranteed.

** The text is partially, but quite identical to the soundtrack.

One Man Is Not No Man

One Man Is Not No Man

This game is surprisingly well done. The gameplay feels good and natural for most of the classes, and it definetly does challenge you. In conclusion to this quick review. I would like to say that alt tab crashes the game. Its still something you should try out though.

The Dark Legions

The Dark Legions

Probably the best medival Strategy game for it’s time (2004). This newer version contains some bonus stuff in the Story Campaign which were hinted in the credits. Also a lot of game crashing bugs have been fixed, but there are still some left. Awesome 20+ hrs story (or mby even more if you take your time), a few challenging bonus missions (if you are a new player, it’s advised to complete the Story mode first). If only this game gets all of it’s bugs fixed and also gets multiplayer in the future it will be the best medival Strategy game ever in my opinion! :)

A strategic top down game with lots of nostalgia :)

Pros:

  • A lot of possible units

  • Lots of upgrades to all units

  • Bot support

  • Variety in maps/play area

  • Good campaign

  • Good graphics for game’s age

  • Trading Cards/Badges!

Cons:

  • Could have more settings

  • Could include LAN gaming

  • Bots difficulty could be better balanced

  • Could include a map maker (this is a far fetched idea, but would be very cool)

Overall: Fun game to go back and play for a bit and remember the olden days :)

Brume

Brume

I’m completely smitten by this little piece of gaming art that was put on my radar by Rock, Paper, Shotgun. It’s Dark Souls dissolved to an extremely slim form. An intense, bite-sized soulslike dance of simple, obscure, but effective mechanics, jazzy visuals, stylish cinematics, moody sounds, weird camera angles and stiff legs. It deserves to be played by every Dark Souls fan and every Dark Souls fan owes it to themselves to play this. Scratch that, everyone should play this just for the vision Sokpop brings to the medium of video games. Have I mentioned I’m totally smitten by this little game?

Real player with 11.9 hrs in game

The premise of Brume is as simple as it is unexplained. You control a nameless character in a new and strange land, Why are you here? Who knows. Venture forth. There is no dialogue in the game, but that only builds the atmosphere.

As the game begins, the first thing that struck me was the askew angles used in the cut-scenes to build an unsettling atmosphere. It creates a vague feeling of discomfort and unease; of something just not being right. The muted colour scheme, low poly-count and soft soundscape create a beautiful little world to get lost in for an hour or two.

Fantasy Blacksmith

Fantasy Blacksmith

Original Review before bug fixes (Scroll down to see edited notes):

Now…where to begin. Well, first question that may be asked, is this game fun? Short answer yes, long answer no with a but. This game does something rather unique that hasn’t been done before (as far as I know), it allows you to play as a sword smith in a fantasy world where your goal isn’t to slay the big bad overlord or to plunder deep dungeons so that you may retire on a pile of “phat loot”, but to become the “best” blacksmith (sword smith as you only make swords) in the land. You can design your swords from various parts, choose which materials to use and then forge them into mighty swords from myth and legend. Sounds cool, is cool, BUT and it is a big but and I cannot lie…

Last Edited: 3/19/2019 for Patch 1.0.3 (see bottom of review for updates)

A game with quite a bit of potential despite getting delayed multiple times with no notice at all to the customers waiting (including release day, coming out over 5 hours late without any word) but if you are not a fan of Early Access games with a lot of bugs I would suggest waiting until a lot more work is done on this.

Current issues I have encountered:

Physics are more of a suggestion than a law in the world of Fantasy Blacksmith. The first thing that happened after I started playing was picking up the Thermometer, testing the current temp of the bronze ingot in the forge, “placing” them next to me, and getting catapulted across the room.

Ironsmith Medieval Simulator: Prologue

Ironsmith Medieval Simulator: Prologue

Summary: This game is fun and satisfying, but has a lot of functionality problems. It does crash, erasing all my progress.

This game is a lot of fun! Obviously it’s not a full game yet and the textures aren’t done and a lot of mechanics are very buggy. Besides that, game play is fun and satisfying. Completing a sword feels like an accomplishment every time, and it feels good to get reviews from random people who you sell your swords too. However, I have encountered an error every time I play the game. Once I reach the second location and make 2 or 3 swords, the game crashes and I lose all of my progress. Like I said, the game isn’t complete yet, but it is still really annoying. I may be an idiot, but I also can’t seem to find a way to save. Either way, it’s only a demo so there can’t be much left after the game crashes so it’s not that big of a deal.

After playing this game my overall summary is: This is okay, but it could be so much better.

Pros of this game:

1. It’s a good concept, and executed decently.

2. It adds more to being a blacksmith than “go make sword, get paid”

3. It isn’t super difficult to get a grasp of, and you can improve your ability to smith.

4. (This is my opinion.) I like the look of this game, it has a nice art style and it looks like the developer really worked hard making it.

5. The developer seems like they want to continue building and improving upon their game, which means a lot of my complaints about this game may be removed in the actual game.

This used to be an android game. I play this on my small windows device when i am on the train. It’s clearly a tablet game. Don’t think i would play this on my pc though. The AI isn’t a big challenge (at least if you know how to use combined arms with archers and knights). A good fun.
