Heaven Will Be Mine

Heaven Will Be Mine

This game is hands down the best game to come out this year.

i am a big fan of Worst Girl Games' previous release, “We Know the Devil”, a visual novel which Heaven Will Be Mine is the spiritual sequel to, and found it hard to believe that even this game could live up to the powerful writing and atmosphere of its predecessor.

And indeed, when i completed the first route i chose, (LT/CM), i didn’t find the game lives up to WKTD. It was a much more subdued game, in many ways, and much more drawn out, with a heavier, more explicit focus on ideology and worldbuilding. Even when i finished the second route i chose (S/MF), though i thoroughly enjoyed it, i found it hard to put the game on the same level as its predecessor. i did remember, however, that as much as i adore We Know the Devil, it took completing all four routes in the game for me to realise what a truly special thing Aevee Bee, Mia Schwartz and Alec Lambert had created. So, i stuck with it.

Oh man. I really feel like I’m not smart enough to write about this game. That’s a really cool feeling.

I didn’t particularly fuck with the first VN from this dev/artist duo, We Know the Devil, which turned out to be a detached prequel to this game. I was a little hesitant going in, but I’ve heard incredible things and a friend of mine in particular loved it (I bought it for them and they said it changed their life) so I figured, what the hey, it’s fighting robots in space, let’s try again.

Heaven Will Be Mine follows three girls in the last days of a pointless war fought in space, far separate (in more ways than one) from humanity. You play as one girl per playthrough as she confronts the other two through mission sorties—each girl is in a different faction, each faction has a different idea about what the future of the pilots and support staff in space should be. The real looming threat isn’t the Existential Threat they were sent up to face—it’s Earth.

So let me get this right I have max perception but I can’t see the Death Star, let alone powering up? (ENDGAME)

This game has someone that did not do any basic research.

The enemy sets up an ambush but you can ambush the ambush by having the enemy leave their ambush that has cover for them to walk into a hail of bullets from your ambush.

Ambush… take a drink.

When you are returning to base you about to be ambushed (take a drink) and after you kill the enemy your commander yells at you for defending yourself in war. (wAiT WhAt???? O_o)

TL;DR WISH THIS GAME WAS LONGER, MORE IN DEPTH. 7/10

This was a nice story, and definitely worth the money. But this isnt the first time I’ve played choice of games product (life of a wizard was awesome) so while I enjoyed the story, I was honestly a bit, unsatisfied. There wasnt enough depth in this game.

Spoilers

Any stat that goes above 4 (starting 2) ensures that you succeed every related option.

And with the scarce amount of stat increasing/decreasing choices, this results in very limited dimensions for character ability development.

Overall I liked the game,

The issues I have with it is that it is short and it took a bit to get the settings for the Steam controller to where the game was playable. I had no issues with the game other than these.

The story was typical but done well. I did not have any game play issue, it worked fine start to end with all the settings on maximum. I like that you can customize your weapon load to suit the mission and your play style, I ended up with several weapons I preferred for different enemy types.

I’m fairly new to playing shoot em ups (shmups) to actually be good at them rather than just credit feed my way through an arcade game. I wanted to get into ‘bullet hell’ shmups but the games are really intimidating. This game was recommended because the designer is an accomplished bullet hell player who made the gameplay the top priority - and made it so you can use the story mode to actually learn to play a bullet hell.

It’s been an absolute blast and the story mode really delivers bite sized chunks of training and the arcade so you can practice them and learn how to deal with the enemies.

This is the Bluesmobile of shmups. It may not look like much on the outside, but it’s got the cop motor, cop tires, and probably even the cig lighter. Great level design & bullet patterns, a ton of modes, leader board & replays, great shmup tunes, it’s all there. Great work, devs!

INSTALL THE R-18 PATCH FIRST BEFORE PLAYING. Unless you want the story filled with wholesome (READ : BORING AF) content straight out of a mainstream anime.

Screw wholesome, I want a WHOLE lot more. I grow tired of seeing tired tropes featured in the vanilla version of this game since I’ve seen them play out for over 20 years in all these similar themed Japanese anime. You WILL notice there was something off the moment you were called to the head honcho’s office since the moment was cut oddly short, TOO short.

MechaNika

MechaNika

Nika Allen is a seven year old child genius in world that she despises. Being a genius she has the capability to do what we can’t do when we are disillusioned about the way we live: Destroy it if course! I thought children were supposed to be untouched by the cynicism and bitterness we feel about the world today from our teenage years…

This is a point and click game where you will help sweet little Nika gather the items she needs. In case you miss this if you double click on Nika she will run like her life depended on it. The art is not anything to write home about. Despite the simple, drawn childlike style this is a game designed with adults in mind. In fact the choice of art style is good choice for MechaNika because it lightens the dark undertones and humour in the game. Give this plot to another developer and we would be reviewing a horror game not a short point and click.

Real player with 11.2 hrs in game

MechaNika initially presents itself as a cute children’s adventure game but quickly turns dark, as pervasive adult themes slowly permeate the game to an absurd extent. This is a point and click style game with simple puzzles and basic conversation trees. The art style and soundtrack play a stark contrast to the premise of the story; the protagonist, Nika, is a 7 year old girl with dreams of taking over the world due to her internalised conflict - that she tries to hide with a smile - for being neglected by all of the important people in her life.

RaiOhGar: Asuka and the King of Steel

RaiOhGar: Asuka and the King of Steel

This is a game that I want to give a mixed review of. Sadly Steam doesn’t have that kind of option,

This is a porn game. I honestly feel sorry for anyone that got this game and somehow didn’t know that you needed to get the uncensored patch from the Kagura games site. I am recommending this game because as a porn it is amazing.

So Kouta and Asuka are a couple that work together to pilot a super robot called Raiohgar and fight a evil organization. They go to a certain island to continue the fight and blah blah blah, really unimportant uninspired story. All that matters is that Asuka is blackmailed into a ntr situation where she has to follow the perverted demands of the men of the island.

H-Content (main focus) - pretty good, NTR really nice if you into that stuff

Time to complete - 2 to 3 hrs game play to unlock complete gallery

Difficulty level - easy, no grinding required you don’t get anything anyways go straight to boss and just remember to upgrade equip to kill boss in like 3-4 moves

AND OFC U NEED THE UNCENSORED PATCH - get it from kaguragames.com (official website)

Over all came for the plot enjoyed it as of a typical h-rpg

Mugen Souls Z

Mugen Souls Z

Mugen Souls Z, like it’s predecessor, combines the incredible/insane character development from Disgaea with a more straightforward combat system. Combat a bit like Neptunia or Fairy Fencer with a few added quirks like charm kills, buff/debuff giving crystals as well as ability to knock around characters.

Story wise it continues directly from Mugen Souls' true ending and the gameplay is essentially the same (with a few improvements).

Improvements from the first:

-Charming enemies is easier, while mood and stereotypes still matter the game will help predict results

Our favorite Undisputed God of the Universe, Chou-Chou, returns with her crew for a brand-new story revolving around the zodiac. Taking place immediately after the first game, you take control of the goddess Syrma, who meets Chou-Chou before the end of the first game’s events. Syrma is out to stop an ancient threat to her world that has recently awakened. 9999 levels of maniacal mishaps and ethereal adventures await Syrma, her crew, and hordes of Shampurus!

Starting the game is something of a chore. It follows on directly from Mugen Souls, and the ruler of the universe, Lady Chou-Chou, is tired of the little piece of space that she spent her last adventure obtaining. She decides to take over twelve more planets, but her plan quickly unravels when she’s accidentally transformed into a powerless chibi version of herself. Yes, this is the actual plot. More surprising, it takes up to two hours to get to the basic gameplay. This Metal Gear-busting figure includes countless cutscenes, a few tutorials, and a music video, but it’s by no means the end of your learning experience. You’ll keep being introduced to new ideas for a long time.
