Laruaville 7 - Match 3 Adventure
This game is actually quite a bit of fun. You do lots of different things. Mostly Match 3, but other things, too. Hidden object, solitaire, bonus games (beat the computer, cursed coin), and spot the difference. There are settings to play it casual, limited moves, timer and limited moves. The music can be disabled, and it is separate from the sounds.
It starts out, bam, no tutorial or hand holding. There are objects and hazards there that hopefully you’ve seen before. I would not recommend this for a first time player. Seasoned veteran, definitely. There is kinda of a story, but you know how that goes. It’s mostly those floaty people talking to each other and arguing over stuff.

Don’t let the dated looks of this game keep you from getting it (on sale, of course.) The plastic toy CG animation and Playskool color palette disguises a pretty fun and involved Match 3+ game (the in-game guide for the Match 3 gameplay is 14 pages long.) There’s nothing revolutionary here, but what it has is done well. Besides the Match 3, every so often you get basic solitaire levels, find the difference between two pictures, and hidden objects scenes. Not the most exciting features, but a nice break nevertheless. AND, as you play, bonus Match 3 levels open in a separate section.

SUBARACITY
I was always interested in this game when I saw it on the 3DS a long time ago but never went and bought it. It was lost in my memory until I saw it a few months back on sale and here I am reviewing it.
Subracity (I prefer the original, punny Japanese title of “Subarashi”) is a puzzle game that mashes match-3 and Tetris gameplay together into something that feels brand new. It’s harder than match-3 but easier than Tetris, I would say. By clicking on blocks with the same colour in the same vicinity, they stack into bigger buildings that can be combined with others to maximize your points. You have to be careful of running out of matchable blocks, because destroying blocks costs Mayor Points and you have a very limited supply of them. It’s easy-to-learn, hard-to-master game play as getting to the higher scores and cheevos takes practice and strategy.

Fun for what it is, but very limited. So limited, in fact, that I already wrote a guide which I expect to need no upgrading, based on less than two hours of play.
The core of the game is falling blocks of four types (three in casual play) which are defined by the type of base. Each has something on it, a person, a tree, or a building, and as they merge they level up to level nine.
At level ten they all change from their original type to a white base, and can only merge with (any) other ten. Clusters of ten can merge into higher numbers, but those are locked, creating a definite end to the game eventually. (NOTE: I attempted selling them to open up the map, but you lose the points for the building, so that’s not a viable strategy.)

My Downtown
so far so good.you can set your difficulty level (from easy to fairly hard) and the art style is nice. controls are nice and smooth. I would recommend this as a nice relaxed game or as a game that would be safe around young children.

Fun Match 3 game that rewards you with buildings for your city! Build it however you want. It’s all pretty standard, but still fun.

Laruaville 11 Match 3 Puzzle
This is a great Match 3 game. The story is better than most Match 3 games.
It’s every bit as good as Laruaville 7 and Cursed House, all by the same company. The mechanics are very similar with a few new additions.
The whole point of each Match 3 level is to figure out what to do. There is a hint system if you need help, and it’s good. Remove all of the gold coins, and the level ends. Interspersed between Match 3 boards are mini-games like Rush Hour, Spot the Difference, Hidden Object, Mahjong, etc. You can choose Relaxed, Timed, or Limited Moves. I prefer limited moves as it’s more like a puzzle.

A good game with just enough difficulty to make you think. If you’re familiar with their “Cursed House” series this is similar. I enjoy playing them all.

5 Star Miami Resort
I was a beta tester for this game. I enjoyed it then. The puzzles are challenging but not so much as to cause frustrations. I ended up going back and I’m currently playing the game again to get all the achievements which didn’t all transfer over from the beta.
This is another solid match 3 from RokaPlay. I enjoy it much more than like Hawaii Resort, for example. If you are a match 3 aficionado, I’d certainly recommend trying this. It has cute graphics and nice ambient sound effects. It’s what you’ve come to expect from Roka if you’ve consistently played their games.

Another solid effort. Fun match 3 game. Not timed, rather you are restricted by number of moves. Cute artwork, funny dialogue.

Triple Town
“Triple Town” is a unique Match 3 game where you build as big a colony town as possible by matching three or more objects. These objects can evolve into others by making appropriate matches (e.g. three Grasses make a Bush, three Bushes make a Tree…three Trees make a Hut…and there’s more after that! ;-D). Matching more than three items, or mathcing certain high-end items will gift you different goodies that improve your score or other parts of the game! What you’re given to place each time is random, but you can place these objects in any free space you want (with the objects melding where you place the last item in the cluster), so there’s more strategy involved than the average Match 3.

Triple Town is a game I’ve gotten a lot of value and fun out of, so the short answer is: yes, I would recommend this game.
There is something oddly addictive and yet very relaxing about playing this game. It is simple match three turn-based game, but the last item you place becomes the next tier up. So three bushes = 1 tree, 3 trees = 1 house, so on and so forth. It becomes a game about managing the precious space you have, and there is something very satisfactory and rewarding about putting in that one last piece and watching your board transform into a new thing you haven’t seen before.

Monkey vs Dino
Fighting games are one of the oldest pillars of video games that have been published for many years in various forms and shapes. From violent and bloody Mortal Kombat to Tekken and Street Fighter. But the issue in all fighting games is they are very slow to progress. Yes, the main thing in fighting games is to choose two characters and fight with each other. But the content of all these games would soon be boring for players who did not follow the game professionally. Another area that most fighting games didn’t take seriously was the story or single section, which in most games was not so strong that it could be considered a strong point…

Last Resort Island
Much of what I have to say about the game, I left on the level assessment thread in the Community Hub. I enjoyed parts of the game, others, I had to grind for hours to beat. Admittedly though, match 3 games are not my thing. I’d much rather be playing Solitaire. It would be good to disperse those levels throughout the game, versus having them all in one quest. That would break up the tedium the match 3 games can sometimes have.
At times I didn’t even know where to start to solve a M3 puzzle. At times I breezed through. The game concept is cute, and i like the additions of building your resort and boat. It would be nice if those elements were with the game until the end, rather than stopping in the 70s levels.

Before diving in deeper, I have to admit that I love this kind of casual games. IF you don’t like casual or match 3 games, then this one may not be for you. This game was given to me for beta testing, so when the alpha comes out it may slightly be different.
• Presentation
This game is rather cute and cheerful considering the story. On the story I’ll talk in a bit. First the menu. The background of the menu is a lovely beach (let’s forget about the half sunken ship and the weird floating block of tofu). Crashing waves in the background. A bird chilping. It all makes you forget about the tofu infected pizzas and the zombies. Actually this game makes you want to go on a holiday or if you can’t afford one just keep playing and match those bright coloured sweets. (Darn I want some sweets now)
