Last Oasis

Last Oasis

ok so with my number of hours, I guess its time to write a review.

At launch it was a fantastic concept, the devs have thrown content updates, balance changes, and appear to be making progress. HOWEVER, the direction theyve taken the game with said updates has killed the playerbase. in just 3months theyve lost over 20k players, to at the time of writing a mere concurrent average of 1k players. they reduce the tiles, reduce the tiles, more and more people quit. Tile burning in essence was an interesting concept. but it wasn’t what the community wanted. that much is clear to see.

This review is from the perspective of an OCE player.

Last Oasis, like Star Wars' 2000’s trilogy, has so far been a series in three parts.

‘You are…so beautiful’

Game launches to 33 thousand players. Servers are buckling under the tremendous weight of their own hype. The game’s launch is delayed for a week as the developers scramble to accommodate the tsunami of players. The game was glitchy. The game was buggy. It was littered with hackers, cheaters, and exploiters- from Paris to Berlin (read: from Beijing to Singapore). Shroud was playing. It was insane.

H1Z1 is a dead game, murdered by it’s own developers.

I’m not here to demand my money back. This game was once fun a full of promise so I have no problem with the fact that I paid full price for it. You see, that’s how it’s supposed to go. Early access is a kind of a system where gamers support a clearly unfinished product out of the love for games and the developers in turn honor that support by trying to use those funds to better the product as well as they possibly can.

This is not what happened with H1Z1.

After almost spending my entire life (almost 1000 hours, including the original H1Z1) here is my final review for you guys.

It all began 2015, where the glorious H1Z1 has been released. At this time the game was full of bugs, well I didn’t judge in those days, because it was an Early-Access-Version of the game.

Though it had a lot of bugs, it was really fun to play, with friends of course.

At this time you actually were getting rewards for winning, even if you were playing in a group. Nowadays you will not get rewarded after winning when playing with a group. So for some people (including me), the motivation to win was missing, since those days.

Characters movement and aim system is so bad, make this game completely unplayable.

This is like prototype but it can be better overtime.

Edit

Aiming sytem was improved and game is ok but there still a lof of work to be done here.

The map is too small for 25 people.

Fog/sight sytem is good(but not work in 100%.Nice cel-shading/carton graphic.

EDIT

There no players in this game most of them are bots

https://steamdb.info/app/840130/graphs/ like 20+ and 40+ each game so its like 5-10 players per lobby

This game is so fun even in early access. Top down battle royale seemed weird at first but actually works. I’d love to see the player base grow so there is better competition but that does not take away from the fun in my opinion. The ranking system is decent and fun to climb in ranks. The only thing is a way to earn more coins for winning, I seemed to stop earning the in game coins from winning at a certain point.

Overall this game is worth the price that its at and I hope to see the game grow and add more content.

Fear the Night - 恐惧之夜

Fear the Night - 恐惧之夜

I bought this thinking it would be just another generic zombie survival game. Play it, forget it, etc. This game turned out to be way more fun then I thought.

It’s basically Ark, but with zombies and robots. The robots can be hacked and “tamed”, and this turned out to be the most fun part of this game. Learning how to hack the bigger (absolutely deadly) ones was a blast. In the beginning we thought it was impossible.

The zombies come in huge packs, I mean, in places they can spawn in the hundreds. Truly jaw dropping numbers.

Ok so I gave it some time to review this but with 200 hours into I feel like I can make a fair review.

First off THIS IS A GREAT GAME! With some serious potential. For $15 its way better then DayZ, Atlas, Ark, etc. I played them all.

You kill A LOT of Zombies in this game. Almost to much….It can be frustating at night and annoying with the amount that spawns. Are their some bugs? A few but non game breaking ones. Game looks GREAT!

Probably my FAVORITE thing about the game is it has a PVE zone (Start area and half of the current Map) and a PVP zone. WHY CANT EVERY GAME DO THIS????? Problem is though is at least on my server PVP is non existent…..

Update 31.3.2019

This game is similar to rust but with zombies and wildlife.

It does not hold your hand and can be challenging

Although the development dont communicate as much as they would like they try there best to listen and sort things as much as they can.

I recommend this game to those who want a challenging but fun survival game.

28.3.2019

Pros:

1. Game looks and plays a lot like rust so is a good transfers for all you Rust fans that want and escape from Rust itself

2. The game guns pretty well and graphics are pretty good unity based i would say.

After about 5 hours, I thought I’d give my thoughts on this game. First off, I want to say that if you gave the game a bad rating solely because of the bad English, then that’s just stupid. If you’re giving it a bad rating because you’re a Rust fanboi, then just stop. It’s not cool.

Now as for the game it self, it’s pretty good for what it is right now. I have never played Rust, nor will I ever play it, so I can’t judge it by that.

In the solo version of that game, there’s not much to do except survive against the environment. Hunt, build, forage and kill monsters when you encounter them. Some things are still very unbalanced and you will have a hard time. Using the forge takes forever to smelt ore of any type. It’s not a fun time. Building is fairly quick and easy. Crafting tools is fast also. Depending on what you’re making. The game never crashed on me in solo play. Game seems to be optimized well with my Ryzen 2700x and 1080ti. But, all in all this game has tons of potential.

I would not recommend this game to play, solely based on the fact that the game has quite a few cheaters and corrupt GM’s.

TLDR I have over 1000 hours played on official PvP servers and will share what happened to make me not recommend this game. In the last week before this review me and my one other tribe member encountered 2 players from china that we caught using ghosting to kill our tames, pixblocks (that had end-game creatures high lvl), and generators. We logged on and seen all this destroyed and caught them using the cheat to kill stuff through our multi-layered tek and steel base without having to blow through the walls and making an opening to get in.

I’ve also got this game on my Xbox. Was tempted to get it for the switch too. But def not worth the price you gotta pay for it. I’ve played Off and On since launch. Xbox and PC. Let me tell you about how Xbox went first. (I’m also leaving this as a review for the game too)

Back then i didn’t know this was a Chinese IP until i did some digging. Little did I know this is what it would lead to. Launch on Xbox had it’s problems. Constant Dcs and crashing. There was a point where you couldn’t fly anywhere because you’d go over maybe 5 blocks and freeze in place for a second. My guess is because the server couldn’t keep up with your dino speed (back when it was a thing) You could also use the dino speed as in advantage on Fury server to see peoples bases on the bottom of the floor. That almost ruined PvP. But what really ruined it was the fact that Dinos and structures were super super weak against players. IDK if it’s still like it now. But you could almost break into any base with a bone sword. So flying slowly started to destroy the playerbase.

First off I would just like to say that I LOVE THIS GAME!!! Sure its a bit rough around the edges right now, but the possibilities are endless! This is not a game for everyone, and I will warn you that if you are not into survival games, REALISM, etc., then you need to keep walking right on by. This is not a game for those seeking an easy way to “Master” a game, quick payoffs or pay to win, but rather for those that like to work hard and feel a real sense of accomplishment when all the hard work pays off.

Here is my comment and hope it will serve as a good reference to any players who intented to buy this game.

Some of the good review for this game have been quite old and no reflecting the current game model.

Over the past few month this game have gone from good to worst and the reason are as follow

Siege- the new siege mechanism now can only be done in a fixed interval. Player have no rights to choose the siege time. So the timing maybe at you work hours or sleeping hours depending on your timezone. Recently dev “improve” the siege making it now easy to siege and harder to build. Depending where you live you will lost your effort when you come back from work or sleep,

Dark and Light

Dark and Light

After over 4000 hours played (mostly on this account) and almost a year of early access, I’m ready to review this game. And for the short attention spans in the room, let’s simply say this isn’t worth your money and the game has no long-term potential. Buy it and play it for a few weeks if you want to get a taste of a fantasy version of ARK, but do not expect anything in the way of proper game development or commnication from the dev team.

Here are a few of my main reasons for the review.

  1. Lack of forward motion. The game has seen only small improvements since launch. It is a beautiful world with great animals to tame, but it’s largely the same world I signed up for when it first released. They added two half-assed dungeons that are incredibly buggy and short/boring. They added an airship that was a disaster at launch and continues to be so. With the exception of that and maybe 3 new animals, there’s simply no new content in this game. What’s saddest about this is that they’ve actually prioritized new content OVER fixing existing issues. This means they’re actually prioritizing new content and still managed to squeak out barely enough to warrant a handful of announcements. The game is almost exactly where it started.

Real player with 4372.5 hrs in game

This game isn’t balanced at all, the grind is long and unrewarding, toxic players love to grief the newbies who have no way to fight back. Reminds me of ARK before it’s release. They also eventually plan to implement cross-server transferring which essentially killed ARK, yet this game pretty much died with the release of Conan Exiles. Nerfing the flying battleships and easier ways to break into manor was essentially the final nail in the coffin. Many exploits and bugs that veteran players use to constantly keep their grip on their servers. The three race thing sounds neat at first yet is basically useless, what large guilds do to lock down a server is simply split into 3 guilds, one for each race then essentially lock down the vendors and the altars used to make myhtical feed. This prevents new guilds from establishing a foothold. So basically it’s a Tri-Fecta Super Guild that lock down a server and constantly raid new players who are trying to learn the game or fight back.

Hello to all the players, have a good day, I recommend this game because the truth seems to me to be a very relatable and fun game where you can share a beautiful gaming experience with your friends and it is only a game that at first seems boring because you want to You play alone and the other players will be killing you but you will get used to it, it is like every game at first it is difficult to play it but it is very nice when you are already liking it and you can become addicted

The control scheme changes, once you get used to them, make the game actually playable! I had a blast with three random people as we worked together to survive even a single night. You need 5 sticks to start a fire, no more no less. Place new sticks in your fire to keep it going. break open coconuts to drink, pick mushrooms or fish or hunt for food. And the best part, building. Jam a bamboo reed into the ground to get started, then use more reeds and a rock as a hammer to completely freestyle build a way to stay off the ground and away from angry critters are night! The game is challenging and thus rewarding. It took 5 hours and more than 30 attempts to survive the first night. We even accidentally beat the game by getting rescued before the first night was over. Game just needs QoL improvements such as text chat, chat in lobbies, restart options, respawn options, and pve mode. Absolutely worth the price, completely different game than before.
