This game reminds me a bit of the game Unturned, where you have to survive a zombie apocalypse. The graphics have that certain comic book feel to them, but they were done with a lot of attention to detail - a nice combination, I think.

It’s still in alpha phase, but the most important parts needed for a game like this are already implemented, such as the looting and inventory system, crafting and base building, weapon interaction, zombie and wildlife threats, the healing system, etc.

In its current state, it offers a huge game world, but it needs to be populated with more places for the player to interact with. So far I’ve found a survivor camp (where you start playing), a nice looking military base, and a huge city, and I look forward to seeing more interesting places in future updates.

This game is in alpha. In its current state I cannot recommend it as a game people should pick up. But, i would Highly recommend following its updates as it becomes more playable…

pros-

-I enjoy the graphics

-decent framework to build upon

cons-

-Missing sound in crucial aspects of game

-loads of bugs from sound to lighting to movement

-game doesnt save if you leave you lose everything

-no chat

-not many points of interest

Yes i know, as i said, this game is in alpha. Thats why i would recommend following it as it updates to see when it is more of a game you can pick up with your mates and spend hours farming, building, crafting, exploring, and fighting players and AI in a relatively polished state. Im not asking for every bugged to be removed, simply that the “clunkyness” is refined. (sound for zombies, Lighting for fires, movement up steps and over some terrain being difficult, weapon play ( hit notification ), save progress, obviousness of items on ground, looting function, etc.)

The Repopulation

Alright, I figured an vet player should prolly write a legit review so new players coming can see what good there is in this game.

I have been following Repop for 5 years now. A very long time. Next to SWG that is prolly the longest I have followed any other game. Obviously play time hasnt been that long because the game hasnt been up and playable that long. But I have over 700 hours played on steam and I played for longer than that on the old standalone client. So Im def a vet player. :D

The down and dirty: This game is in Alpha. It is not perfect. There are a lot of bugs and issues that need to be fixed still. A lot of that was due to lazy coding or even inexperienced coding and whatnot from the old team. The new team seems leagues above experience wise and it is their engine so I have faith a lot of these issues will be fixed. Before I touch into that lets touch base on a couple things to clear up some stuff with a bunch of the negative reviews and posts.

over 500hrs on record, so I’m not a paid hyper. wish I was one though…hint hint

The game is in alpha, if you gripe about buggy stuff in betas, or full releases, stay away from this game in it’s current state. The game needs a lot of polish, and can, at times, rattle a nerve or two. However, the game is fully playable, has a great community, great staff, and great development team. You will almost certainly never see anything about thievery in the game. Arguments are generally quick, and allowed to vent themselves out. The whole atmosphere of the game is very helpful.

Wild Terra 2: New Lands

Wild Terra 2: New Lands

TL;DR;: if you want a week or two of fun and there’s a nice discount, maybe go for it; if you want a MMORPG, wishlist it and wait till the game (hopefully) stops losing all players.

3000 hours in and, though most of them were afk, I certainly played a lot, since the Alpha (before EA). And I also had some nice time of fun, but…

I have lost confidence that the devs will make it a good game, one that, as an MMORPG, is expected to offer fun for many months. You probably can still have some fun for a week or 2 though, as the early game feels very nice. Ok, some examples:

DO NOT BUY. This game has protected and promoted real money traders/bots at an alarming rate. They ban anyone who exposes it or speaks out about it. The top guilds admit it. Players outright tell you that you’re too poor in real life to catch them in game. Progress is made by spending money. The developers will allow it. But do not allow you to expose it. My review was removed by Juvty’s staff/mod team earlier. Now I leave you with this review. PM Me for screenshots of it all. Beginning to end. We have more than enough evidence that this game is a virtual scam. I will be banned or removed from Discord (Again). but who cares. DO NOT BUY THIS SCAM.

3500+ hours in and counting… I think that means I like it! lol

Edit: Over 6000 hours now and still love it!

Don’t feel like reading? Consider checking out my video describing Boundless in broad strokes ^^

https://youtu.be/1XzzHHUyyko

The Game is officially released but is still being developed!

Like any good MMO the game is still being added to, balanced, and improved upon. Updates oscillate from going to the public test severs one week and then to the live servers normally the next week so that 1-2 updates come to the live servers each month.

Edit: I’m adding a new review now that I’ve been putting this game on hold/maintenance mode, as I’ve reached my endgame in terms of content (highest tier gear, comfortable in terms of economy, and having a base i’m satisfied with). My old review is still available below.

At the time of writing (9 Jul 2021), the devs hasn’t communicated anything for several months now, and there’s no news about the latest update (nor is there any significant update). I’ve put the game down for about 3 months now. However, the servers are still up and the players are still playing (although to my knowledge the player count is getting smaller), which is questionable for an MMO.

Edited from original post where I said I loved this mmo.. it pains me that I have to change my review for this mmo but the devs are quieter than a mute and don’t answer nothing in forums and NO communication WHAT SO EVER!

SO! I now HATE this mmo, it’s awful… so much wrong with it, shyte jumping controls, auto AI response is a joke, dying in dungeons and being forced right back to the beginning where you have to collect all door keys again is a TROLLING JOKE! Bosses are so OP you cant even beat them with maxed out gear cos they ALL can one-shot death you, Fighting the boss.. get 1 or 2 adds on you and you might as well give up cos it’s a SURE death, which happens 90% of the time cos boss rooms are flooded with monsters along with the boss. Stats on gear don’t seem to do frak all, at lvl 30 with top end gear I was still only hitting into double digits, around 50-70 odd and criting for around 100-120 as a sword and shield user. SO glad I didnt sink money into this game at this stage, if things improve then I might return but as of now i’m not even gonna bother continuing.. shame really.

This game is adorable and excels at being fun. It is a little confusing at first. There seems to be a rock/paper/scissors element to combat. Which isn’t terrible, but might take some getting use to for some people. I don’t think a lot of people will end up enjoying this game (or play it in general). But it really grows on you as you play it.

I like the oddball nature of the Alice and Wonderland theme too. It is just a quirky element you don’t see too often. In a way it is a cozy game…just in a strange way.

EverQuest II

EverQuest II

I’ve been playing everquest 2 since 2011.

If I could rate the game out of 10 it would be 6. I love Everquest 2 very dearly, it will always be in my heart. Everytime I try to find a different game to play I always come back to Everqeust 2. There are a lot of good and bad things about the game. I gave a 6/10 because there are many issues with Everquest 2 that need to be addressed by the devs and haven’t been. I cannot ignore that despite my deep love for this classic game.

Some of the bad stuff;

Real player with 4705.8 hrs in game

Ah Everquest, my first true MMO love; even tho I was a consistent Ultima Online player until 1999 when EQ graced my screen. The EQ universe was my home for the next 6 years, shared only with what I consider another great MMO, Dark Age of Camelot. It wasn’t until 2005 and I peeled myself away from those games to embark on a new journey in Everquest 2.

I will admit, the first couple of years were very hard on EQ2. The steep computer requirements, the very hard game-play and the rise of a much lighter MMO in World of Warcraft created a challenging future for Everquest 2. Yet, the game persisted; made changes and continued to grow its content until now; it is probably of the largest if not the biggest MMO (content wise) out there today.

High Treason

High Treason

High Treason is a massively multiplayer online PvP game set in a low fantasy medieval world. Create and level up your character by completing tasks such as hunting down player targets, completing quests, and looting towns, caves, and dungeons.

Progression,

Featuring a unique item progression system, items will demand a specific task to be carried out to refine their quality and improve stats. Some weapons may be bloodthirsty and demand kills, others may need to be sharpened with a grinding stone or polished with a wolf pelt. Each weapon carries with it a unique set of skills to use in combat - charge with shields, swipe with halberds, shadowstep with daggers, slam with greathammers, amongst many more; and of course, the effectiveness is influenced by the item’s quality.

Last Oasis

Last Oasis

ok so with my number of hours, I guess its time to write a review.

At launch it was a fantastic concept, the devs have thrown content updates, balance changes, and appear to be making progress. HOWEVER, the direction theyve taken the game with said updates has killed the playerbase. in just 3months theyve lost over 20k players, to at the time of writing a mere concurrent average of 1k players. they reduce the tiles, reduce the tiles, more and more people quit. Tile burning in essence was an interesting concept. but it wasn’t what the community wanted. that much is clear to see.

This review is from the perspective of an OCE player.

Last Oasis, like Star Wars' 2000’s trilogy, has so far been a series in three parts.

‘You are…so beautiful’

Game launches to 33 thousand players. Servers are buckling under the tremendous weight of their own hype. The game’s launch is delayed for a week as the developers scramble to accommodate the tsunami of players. The game was glitchy. The game was buggy. It was littered with hackers, cheaters, and exploiters- from Paris to Berlin (read: from Beijing to Singapore). Shroud was playing. It was insane.

One Hour One Life

One Hour One Life

This is one of the most unique and satisfying crafting/survival games I have ever played. If I were to sum it up, it’s like a less brutal, more social Don’t Starve where you are born into the world as another player’s child. There are no fathers, women give birth unexpectedly, while there is ways to increase this chance, it’s more or less when someone else is reborn. Or very rarely, you can be born as an Eve and start your own settlement. As a child you can only speak 1 letter per year you have aged, and one year is a minute of real time. You start in the world as a helpless baby and cannot harvest food or do any work until you’re at least 4.

Real player with 171.1 hrs in game

TL:DR The developer of this game is a toxic, immature person who doesn’t care about this game. So why should you?

BUYER BEWARE

I actually bought this game when it was on sale for dirt cheap, and I’m glad it was only a couple bucks considering. I thought this game was cute at first, like a really cool social experiment. It used to be about survival in a really exaggerated form. You have one hour to be a part of a society that’s trying to just exist as long as it can. Fail, and your entire family line will be wiped out. Succeed, and you can be proud of being a part of the reason why. I played this game whenever I was bored and just wanted to play something that was really chill. The reason I say this is because the controls of the game have always been SUPER simple and flawed.
