BasCatball Mars: Basketball & Cat

BasCatball Mars: Basketball & Cat

the game is really good, the graphics and animations feel like an arcade game, as it really is. it doesn’t get too overwhelming easily, the gameplay is simple, but the characters have unique skills, which makes the game more interesting, and also more cool. in the game there is the possibility to change the music which helps not to get too heavy, in short the game is incredible, even more so for an indie studio, with lots of fun and very reasoning stages, good for training the brain and having fun whenever you want, it’s cheap, good and light, a good choice for any audience, I recommend leaving the option to return only 1 shift, so as not to have to return the entire phase, and to think about adapting to android, it would be very played, already that most casual gamers are on mobile devices. but in general the game is excellent, congratulations to those involved and I hope many other games in the future.

RaceXXL Space

RaceXXL Space

RaceXXL is a decently fun game, but gets boring quick without other players or AI

Pros:

  • Decent handling physics, doesn’t feel clunky

  • Foreground visuals are cool

  • Entertaining when getting wrecked by different obstacles, but that only lasts so long (see cons)

Cons:

  • No AI or other players even though game photos show you racing with another vehicle. That doesn’t happen, at least not

for the first 3 races, which was enough to turn me off from continuing playing.

  • Background visuals are a bit cheesy but I can’t complain for a 6$ game

Rover Mechanic Simulator

Rover Mechanic Simulator

Rover Mechanic Simulator, yet another mechanic simulator game where the player is expected to unscrew some machinery, disassemble it, find some malfunction, repair it and then assemble it again. It is looking good, it sounds good (especially music tunes on local radio), and it provides somewhat unique machinery to fix - some remotely-driven drones which are supposedly used to explore Mars.

However… the usual thing happened. The idea was good, but its execution doesn’t actually cover the fun and enjoyment section.

I love this game. I absolutely love this game. I am fully in love with it. It has become my go-to relaxation experience. And I will explain below why that is in detail. But in brief: Rover Simulator is a very niche, ridiculously expansive mechanics and repair simulator which oozes passion, love, and complexity from every pore. It is a wonderful little experience which, for the price, I could not only recommend more, but say is worth more. You fix rovers. And that’s what you’ll do. From the so-called ‘MER Twins’ - Spirit and Opportunity - to the tiny, adorable Sojourner, all the way up to the (DLC-bound but heavily recommended) Perseverance rover, you’ll disassemble, clean, re-solder, and re-assemble them all.

DISCLAIMER: If you don’t like resource management, you probably won’t enjoy this game!

Great little game, don’t be put off by the price! It reflects the care and dedication that has been put into it by the creator. The premise on the surface appears simple. You are the artificial intelligence of a colony ship, charged with getting your human cargo to Mars. You control power to the ship’s systems, but you cannot repair them when they break down.

For this you need your humans, just like they need you for breathable air and a working kitchen. Whilst you can set alarms of varying degrees of urgency to alert them to broken or compromised systems, they won’t always respond to them as they should do. On top of this your ship is old, the parts are mostly cobbled together from whatever your humans could afford. So everything breaks down. EVERYTHING! From the oxygen scrubbers that keep the crew from suffocating to the toilet to the controls of the ship itself. Repairing them takes time and effort, adding to the above problems that affect your valiant colonists. But repair them you must. No oxygen scrubber? No air. Everyone dies. No controls? You go wildly off course and actually begin to head AWAY from Mars rather than towards it. Then you run out of air or power. Everyone dies. No toilet? I shouldn’t even have to explain that one. Somehow, everyone dies. Poop and space don’t mix you know. Here is where the resources come in.

My current favorite game on steam - a hidden gem! It’s tragic that most people haven’t found this game. Definitely worth the price for me. Reminds me a lot of FTL. I think if you like FTL, you’ll like this game. I watched the videos on the store page, thought I would enjoy the game, and enjoyed it even more than I imagined. I wouldn’t pay much attention to negative reviews before October 13th 2017 - the latest patch. It also helps if you’re good at doing minesweeper quickly.

Current best run: got to 99% and died. Also died a little inside, in real life. :)

Space Company Simulator

Space Company Simulator

still has a lot of bugs, but they are working on it.

EDIT FEB 2020

They are working on it, but it doesn’t seem to be improving.

What annoys me is they bring out these occasional updates and put the game on sale to make it look like they are working on it and get more people in. But the updates don’t actually make the minimum requirement make it playable.

They even have the nerve to ask people to update their review of the game. So I am.

This is supposed to be a rocket management sim. The reality is you still can not launch rockets. At the moment all you can do is make more money than you know what to do with off interest from the money in your bank account (I guess in that way its not a bad Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos simulator). You can use this money pass time and move along the research tree but that is all pointless if your company is not able to launch a rocket into space!.

Author’s note: This review was written in early access and information (along with the recommendation) is subject to change… At least it better change!

Overview

The reader can infer that Space Company Simulator is a turn-based management simulation, so we’ll skip to the blunt description of the game: Space Company Simulator is like the NASA Space Shuttle Challenger: It was used too early in the year and turned into a disaster. (Okay, so maybe not quite as big of a disaster as the initial launch of Arcade Tycoon, and no lives were lost as the result of a bugtastic video game.) The player starts out with a big pile of cash, and unlike the sort of grind fests that are management simulations, Space Company Simulator lights a fire under the player’s butt to spend their way out of a spending deficit in order to run a profitable space program. (Hopefully before that big pile of cash burns up in the atmosphere like the player’s rockets.)
