Moons of Madness

Tides of the Elder Gods

Review

Once again Funcom expands its online MMO’s lore - the formerly known The Secret World but re-purposed as Secret World Legends in 2017 - with a new interactive narrative experience in Moons of Madness which acts in exactly the same way as Funcom’s previous effort, The Park. What that means is you are getting a heavily story-based experience with some light puzzle solving as opposed to one that includes combat and an overdose of action.

TLDR: I really wanted to love this as a huge fan of horror, lovecraft and narrative driven games but its just not “quite” there. It’s by no means bad, but it just didn’t have the strong story needed in a game…with no gameplay.

Pros - Pretty game to look at in places, clearly a lot of effort went into set dressing / area design, initially builds a good atmosphere.

Cons - Story is very shallow and predictable, characters are just bad, puzzles are very simple, lots of choppy framerates and some very out of place gameplay that felt shoehorned in.

Occupy Mars: Prologue

Occupy Mars: Prologue

I think this game has a lot of potential. I love the realism. Also, the controls are very intuitive. They are different from some other games I play but Occupy Mars does it how it should be…left click basically does everything. What a novel concept! It’s the game I’ve been looking for! I look forward to the early access.

Sometimes the realism is too much, such as soldering every pin on a chip, but generally the realism in this game is what gives it an edge over other survival games. Maybe you should put the board in a chip repair machine and it takes a certain amount of time to repair. In the mean time, you have to live without the device that board belongs to… Just a thought.

Red Faction

Red Faction

Red Faction 1 (RF1) is a great game, but I’m posting a negative review because the port of the game that Steam sells barely works as it is.

I bet RF1 would run well on Windows 98, ME, or XP, but no one should be using a 32-bit version of Windows anymore, and that has been the case since Windows 7 came out in 2009. You can pretty much take my review of Max Payne and pretend I am talking about RF1, because with RF1, we have another example of Steam being lazy and selling a port that, for the vast majority of users, doesn’t work as it is.

ULTOR CORPORATION NEEDS YOU!

Big scary hydraulic door with a ‘press to open’ button on the wall next to it giving you the willies? Not to worry! The giant overpowered rocket launcher provided in the open confines of most mining stations can safely dismantle the nearest wall and create a you-sized hole to climb through! Just ignore all the potentially flammable gas from the mines by the way. There are only a few thousand people down there – we don’t care about them, and neither should you.

Sharks of Mars is a great game i recommand

the graphism are great , the laser gun design is wonderfull and the idea to have to combine with clip behind the weapon is really awesome

every clip can enable different effects like for exemple a sniper mode without the need to close one eye so our eyes ( i appreciate a lot this )

and can fire another type laser beam or another has an effect of explosion

of course we would like more clips and color clip and type of beam but it is planned for the future

Chaser

Chaser

A really old first-person shooter with futuristic background, heavily based on the movie “Total Recall”. Somehow, up to the moment, Chaser is the best game its creators, Cauldron, made for all those years.

If you haven’t played it before, when it was all fresh and comparable to the actual FPS on the market (2003, before such hits as Far Cry, HL2, and FEAR) - well, the game isn’t aged well. If you’re not down with old-school gaming mechanics, you’ll most likely shouldn’t try to play Chaser now. The game has many obvious and troublesome downsides, it is a real pain in the back for any casual nowadays gamer.

“Basically Nintendo 64 & Total Recall”

Chaser is a FPS and the very first game ever built on the Cloak NT 3D engine. Developed by Cauldron http://www.cauldron.sk/ a Slovakian gaming company more notorious for their Cabela franchise. Chaser was released in 2003 which is kind of strange since N64 was released back in 1996 and this game felt somewhat more as a continuation from that cream of the crop.

The game depicts the near future when man has inhabited Mars. In 2036 a coalition of 36 BIG corporations establish the MARSCORP with the goal of terraforming the planet. However, in 2042 the UN makes Samuel Longwood the director of this organisation who then begins to separate Mars into becoming more an independent government with himself becoming its dictator. Eventually a rebel movement headed by Graham Castor is formed whose sole goal is to liberate Mars from this oppressive government. Their continuous rebel strike movement has been long standing and elusive from Longwood’s control and the UNIA Special Forces.

Diluvian Ultra

Diluvian Ultra

In Diluvian Ultra you play as Atilla, an undead king that is awakened in deep space, aboard his tomb, ship by an invasion of unknown enemies. He must fight to prevent them from stealing his most sacred object: The Book of Life. Without the book, Attila’s order can’t revive the long-dead human species.

The spaceship is a living combination of flesh and stone, teeming with creatures created to serve a purpose aboard the ship. Even the doors are alive.

Diluvian Ultra is built around a damage system where you have to combine weapons to be effective. Armor negates most damage, but some weapons are designed to damage only the armor itself, setting the victim up for a lethal blow. The player has to be careful, as enemies will combine their attacks in the same way. Armor damage cannot kill you, but take too much and a single well-placed lethal attack will kill you in one hit.

Combat in Diluvian Ultra is all about mobility. Dodge enemy fire, while you chain together ranged attacks with close combat blows and devastating ground slams to interrupt and stun your enemies.

The weapons range from living insect guns, to plasma spewing shotguns. Each has a unique special reload function, like healing armor damage or turning the magazine into a grenade.

Bullet Wave

Bullet Wave

Even though it’s short and quite buggy, Bullet Wave is a fun way to kill half an hour. I’ve played it for about twice that, 58 minutes to be exact, and I don’t really plan to go back to it anytime soon, but considering it’s only a dollar, why wouldn’t you try it?

Real player with 1.1 hrs in game

Pretty good for what it is. Short, fun to play. Could use a few fixes here and there but other than that it’s not bad. The boss is a little too tanky in my opinon but other than that it’s good.
