I bought this to do a review of it for YT. Never before have I heard myself so depressed after a video. It isn’t from the melancholy of Lovecraftian literature either.
Gameplay:
Aesthetically it reminds me of retro-indie games. Pretty good in that regard. However I’m not a fan of the GUI trying to move out of the way while I’m attempting to use it (infuriating to say the least). It took me about 15 minutes to learn the mechanics and I’m still not sure I have all of it with an hour of playing. I got the furnace once, but I’ve not seen it since and died soon after, considering the game doesn’t teach you how to use it. I tend to succumb to sanity being exhausted, but it’s impossible to keep my crew sufficiently saturated and not crazy. Frankly it’s not fun for me to die and die again with little to no progress being made so I don’t want to play it anymore.

Cultist Simulator
I’m a writer, and I fell in love with Alexis Kennedy’s imagery and lore. I was never into videogames, but the storytelling and atmosphere really spoke to me. I recommend it to dreamers and problem-solvers alike.

This game has to be the single most difficult game I’ve ever played, I wont lie.
Like it’s one thing if a game is hard as balls, but this game physically hurts to play.
It’s not even a matter of frustration or anything like that.
All I have to do is look at the game board, and then my head starts to pound.
No game I have ever played before has had me slam my head down on my desk after winning because winning means I don’t have to torture myself anymore …until my brain decides that starting a new run is a good idea, that is.

Lobotomy Corporation | Monster Management Simulation
This game is really great. I don’t usually play games like these as I usually go for FPS and multiplayer games, but this was a nice change of pace. My friends got me into it and I blame them for my addiction. Managing all kinds of abnormalities and trying not to let everyone die was a fun experience. The only qualm I have with the game is when it bugged for me. At certain points in the game you gain more abnos in the facility to produce energy and learn more about them to make the game easier. I had a glitch that would just kind of yoink abnos and department research. I restarted the game multiple times, asked for help on reddit and a discord server, but all I got was “That’s Lobotomy” and one guy who tried to help. It’s a bit glitch so I understand that weird stuff happens and nobody can really help, but that set me back a bit. I just had to uninstall the game for a bit apparently. I can’t wait to continue my journey in more games.

I stopped playing for a few months and when I got back a patch broke my game so it wouldn’t boot up. Angela refused to let me start it for a week straight and gaslit gatekept girlbossed me into a month of unpaid overtime when it did work. I am writing this review from the Shelter of the 27th of March because I forgot how all the Abnormalities worked while away. Ha ha.
I’m going to die down here! Ha ha.

Summoner’s Mess
Worth every cent (and much more) of its price, it’s very entertaining to discover the map and each unsuccessful run makes you go for another one to see how far can you go this time.
It has a really nice art direction, and the sound ambiance goes perfectly with the game. Just buy it, with that price it’s like a gift.

This is a very nice and interesting game, the graphics, the music, the mood… everything fits perfectly.
I really enjoyed playing it and doing all the possible endings. It is cool to be able to easily remember the rooms and little by little knowing all the place like it was my own house.
If you enjoy games where the progression is based on your own knowledge instead of unlockable skills, then give it a try!
The game gives you a proper amount of hours of game time given the fact that is super cheap!

Legend of Keepers: Prologue
Disclaimer: This is essentially a demo version of a game that is still being developed as of this moment. Full game has it’s own store page on steam under “Legend of Keepers: Career of a Dungeon Master”.
-
This game has Slay The Spire kind of adventure progression system which is lot of fun, addictive and still quite unique. If you enjoyed Slay the Spire odds are you will love this game.
-
Effects are really cool and feel very satisfying.
-
Core gameplay is designed very well. It’s mostly strategy with a pinch of randomness balanced quite well to give the game both depth and replayability.

CONS:
Could/should have a much clearer interface (sometimes you get 2 out of 3 identical choices for enemies with no explanations, or you get a false warning for insufficient resources for an event while you have plenty). Room order and available groups/traps for the rooms are randomized, so you get some illogical choices sometimes and I guess some people could dislike that. Somewhat heavy on old laptops, quite surprisingly (maybe a bit more choices for video settings could work).
PROS:
But yeah, the game is super good and fun, many monsters and traps to choose from, somewhat different strategies for different hero group compositions, fantastic pixel art, probably a lot more variety when the game comes out with skill trees, unlockables, more monsters and more Keepers. Will buy full game on release, probably, depending on price, but unless it’s crazy I think it will be worth it.

Unholy Heights
An apartment management tower-defense game about your resident monsters against humans.
While the idea of being a landlord is enticing the tower-defense part can get incredibly tedious & repetitious since there’s not a whole lot of strategy to use here from beginning to end.
The idea of the tower-defense is just to stop humans from stealing your money and if they get away with it you only lose your highly expendable tenant should they have died defending the money taken so there’s no real fail state. You try and stop the humans by knocking on the room doors of the monsters of your choosing and IF they’re home (which most usually are) they’ll do their tower-defense thing and help kill the intruders.

Let me tell you about Popan.
Popan was the first baby ever born in my apartments. She was a Cheepy so I didn’t have high expectations. Popan was probably 3 days old when her parents died in an unfortunate ambush on my complex. I had a ton of other tenants, so I didn’t see the harm in waiting for her to grow up. Somehow, she never became in debt. This fucking baby was paying the rent. She grew up to be a total badass. She would single-handedly wipe out entire waves of enemies without breaking a sweat.

X-COM: Terror From the Deep
My personal favorite of the first two XCOMs. But that comes with disclaimers. The first is play it with OpenXCOM to deal with some of the bugs.
Good: UFO Defense had good music, the but the music here is insanely good. Creepy, ominous, and uses variants of the same thing. It has a creepy Cthulu vibe in general. Ion armor looks much better than power armor, and you can see the soldiers face’s in the inventory screen all the time.
Alien (sonic) weapons are much better balanced than UFO’s plasma tier because the sonic weapons all have clear strengths and weaknesses. So you have to bring a mix of them. The underwater maps look great. The underwater dungeons look even better.

Ok, before I get into the good, the bad and the ugly, I should say that I DO recommend this game, the reason I’m saying this is that my initial review may sound quite negative. I am writing this just moment’s after playing terror from the deep and I wanted to have a clear view of the game, so without further a due.
This is, without a doubt, THE MOST INFURIATING GAME I HAVE EVER HAD THE MISSFOURTUNE OF PLAYING!!!
This game did the impossible; it managed to be harder than UFO defence! HARDER!
Right, lets go through this in a bit more detail.

Deadly Daycare VR
A very fun and unique VR experience! It gets a little spooky if you don’t tend to the creatures' needs fast enough but that only incentivizes you to finish your tasks quicker. Also, the devs are very receptive to user feedback as they fix issues very soon after they’re brought to light. 10/10 game.

Pretty fun game that is quality over quantity and I really like that, the game is only 3 levels long but it’s pretty fun. I liked the first level the most because I love the goat, but the twins were also pretty cool. Good game I will come back to if there’s more updates to it. Only bug I found is that I beat level 3 but got no achievement for it, nothing big or game breaking just something I noticed 10/10 Good game, and it’s free.
