Printersim

Printersim

Full disclosure: I am friends with the developer and helped playtest the game.

I really think Paul has made something special with Printersim. I am not a big player of point and click adventures or that style of puzzle game, but I was hooked from the moment I started playing.

The game starts off like a playground; you’re meant to be printing the report, but there’s so much other stuff to do. Every time you plan to focus your efforts on one thing, you discover a shiny new toy to play with and find yourself four days down the line burning all your possessions or trying to cook the perfect diamond.

This game is almost like a rage game mixed with a point-n-click adventure game (and I’m not usually one to go for rage games at all). There are so many layers that it really does keep you coming back and just…you HAVE to find all the secrets.

I played the demo and knew I was going to buy the game, and today played through almost 2 hours here on my account and another 2 hours on my partner’s account together with him, and it’s noon on launch day, so, you know xD

I find myself playing for an hour or so, learning something new, then not quite sure where to go next, getting frustrated, then having a realization later on that I have to explore. I’ve never been quite so engaged with a game like this before.

Junkyard Simulator: First Car (Prologue 2)

Junkyard Simulator: First Car (Prologue 2)

Unfortunately this game still needs a lot of polish of just its core mechanics. I’ve had to restart it several times when it froze (usually on interacting with tools, vehicles, debris on the ground), the driving is less than smooth and the vehicles don’t really “weigh” a lot so they tip easily and get stuck on the terrain, and it’s easy to softlock yourself in the tutorial missions if something happens out of place and it won’t let you continue any other way.

The game overall looks good and I like the premise, and doing the recycling and collection itself is very satisfying, so I hope these things are ironed out in the full game. Here are some issues that need improvement:

Real player with 6.0 hrs in game

So far i’d say this game rocks! It is a must have when it’s released. The only problems I had was the video would freeze for a second then your looking at a different angle from where you were looking. Also it takes nothing to tip over the vehicles and there’s no option to reset them. I had to slam them with another vehicle. And if that’s the way you move the hand cart it won’t get far, Also the game crashed when I set an engine down in the save spot. Also, there’s not enough lighting in the restoration shed and it’s very hard to see where you miss and getting it finished takes a long time. But I did finish the demo and I really had a good time. There’s cars to pick up and crush Engines to restore and sell, A scrap yard to sell junk you find, A crusher to use along with a crane. The environment is ideal and it’s a kind of game that appeals to me. You can even restore furniture you find. I look forward to wasting several hours of my precious life in junkyard bliss. This is definitely going in my collection of time wasters when it’s finally released. Try the demo, it’s free. See what you think.

Rebots

Rebots

Experience a galactic adventure with your crew of robots

You are working as a middle manager for the Rebots Corporation who specialise in climaforming inhospitable asteroids for aliens. Your character’s aspiration is to become “The Best Employee Ever” but there is a long journey from the bottom to the top. Climb the ranks of the Rebots Corporation, making friends and rivals along the way, as you follow in the footsteps of your mother to become employee #1.

Program robots

To make your robots work, you need to program them. Or rather, you need to instruct your robot managers (supervisors) to instruct your robot workers. Hence, you learn how to program by creating your code and instructions directly in the world and seeing your robot operation automatically carrying out your carefully designed program in real-time.

Build and balance delicate ecosystems

Each alien race has specific requirements for habitats, meaning you need to transform and design ecosystems while dealing with the local fauna and flora that might condone your lease on the land. You are changing the climate of existing ecosystems (climaforming) so you experience first-hand the effects of climate change and migration.

Build relationships with the alien factions you meet

Some aliens enjoy sweltering hot, some live in a swamp, while others like chilly weather. Get to know multiple factions throughout your adventure and learn their preferences to become the best employee of the Rebots Corporation.

Solve challenges in unique ways

Use your ever-growing programming skills with your robots to solve challenges in a variety of ways. Use the available resources to your advantage and leverage the local fauna, flora and resources to assist you in completing your job.

Space Empires I

Space Empires I

I remember playing Space Empires way back ages ago, so I was pretty excited to pick the series on steam again and replay them.

Sadly, Space Empires I is NOT FUNCTIONAL on windows 10 at this time. It cannot process a single turn, crashing to desktop when ‘end turn’ is pressed. game load and save functions also do not work either.

This should have been tested more before release.

I had no idea Steam was carrying the Space Empires Series, and was incredibly shocked to see SE I and not SE II on the store list. So a little bit of history here. Aaron Hall back in 1993 was working on his personal project Space Empires and formed this game as a prototype for something bigger and in 1995. We got Space Empires II.

Space Empires II was technically the first product released to the public and I remember sending in a money order to purchase this game after playing the shareware forever back in the mid 90s. I also got the CD when buying the complete bundle with Space Empire 4 Gold back in the early 2000s. Which was the only way I knew at the time, on how you actually got the original Space Empires prototype.

VEGTERIA - Vegetable Shop Simulator

VEGTERIA - Vegetable Shop Simulator

Nothing but problems, food by the hundreds go missing, even when reloading that missing food does not show up, playing this game is a nightmare, prices are way too low considering all the bugs this game has, also we need player options , i do not like a game dictating what keys i use, please fix this very bad game

Real player with 110.8 hrs in game

First, let me say to please ignore the number of hours played. I left the game on pause while I did other things so the actual hours is whatever you see minus approximately 5 hours.

Secondly, I purchased the game as a bundle and I should have read the other reviews first.

Okay so here goes my review:

I played for 30 minutes and realized that the game was going to be sub par because everything is stagnant. The npcs don’t have any dialog and nothing basically happens except your character moving boxes around. I was excited at first because I thought that as I got better at the game by delivering vegetables that I would open up more veggies that made me more money but by the time I was able to do potatoes, I realized that my profit was extremely low. The max profit was $1 per item by this time and it seemed tedious to keep going. I wanted to get to the vehicle and the farm but really did not have the energy to keep going.

Mountain Taxi Driver

Mountain Taxi Driver

Honestly, I bought this game for $0.50 expecting a garbage game which I could laugh at for about 5 minutes then never play again, but I was very surprised when I actually started playing it. This has been the only game which has accurately showed the experience of a real Mountain taxi driver. The game does not need an intro, and just sets you straight into the action. The first thing you will notice once you start the first level, is the hyperrealistic graphics. I had no idea my 480p monitor could rival the graphics of the real world. This game has realistic driving, realistic obstacles, and realistic pay for a real world mountain taxi driver. I would highly recommend this game for fans of the GTA series, Beamng, The crew, any other racing game on steam, fans of driving, or real mountain taxi drivers.
