Skeletal Dance Party

Skeletal Dance Party

This masterpiece has the single-most terrifying spell in any game I have ever played.

You and your friends take up arms against the sudden, new menace that has already exterminated half of your village. A necromancer - a single necromancer - has seized the ample supply of your ancestors in the catacombs and raised an army of abominations. Your squad takes patrol in the hall of chieftans, where your chief, and his chief before him, and his chief before him, they all rest, having lived valiant lives. The rhythmic rattling of the wretched rawboned ruffians relates your irresistable restless repose. The undead army clatters around the corner and without hesitation or coordination, impales your only companion upon dozens of spears and swords, each stolen from what were once your countrymen.

Neon Dimension

Neon Dimension

Looks like I get to write the first English review for Neon Dimension, which is a simple asset-flip/mobile tier Arkanoid/Breakout ripoff, only they somehow managed to have even worse graphics. They chose a very lazy retro neon background and instead of bothering with any art for the bricks, they just have numbers.

I never saw such laziness. On top of the lazy art department, the gameplay is really poor quality stuff, not even close to as good as Breakout. But wait, it gets worse, they want a laughable $10 USD for this lazy bundle worsening shovelware. Impossible to recommend.

This game certainly got potential. It’s not very popular but I dare say.

Very good concept, though feels a bit incomplete.

Gameplay is very platformer, has both good puzzles and good action.

To 100% this game, you require battle skills because true final boss stage is very hard.

Moving camera is kinda painful, has a lot of vertigo-inducing parts, though, it’s just enough to be fun.

Story is almost not needed. Sounds and graphics go pretty well together.

What I like about this game is that they teach all you need to know from the get-go,

Sound effects are annoying. “Doh” … “Doh” … “Hi-doh”

Stages are uninspired.

Control scheme is absolutely unforgivable. I mean I know I can remap it, but oh my god…

Tutorial sequence assumes that you have the IQ of a glass of water, explaining to you at least 20 times how to fucking jump instead of explaining the jump mechanics and then letting you work out the uses for yourself.

I don’t have the patience for this.

I’ll preface this by saying I did fall asleep halfway through the game so you should be able to get through it in less than half an hour if you speed run it but I woke up and finished the game after 3hrs roughly lol The music is pleasant but had it mainly switched off since I was listening to Twitch in the background. hehe The drawing style is quirky and there’s a sinister touch to the puzzles. A couple of the puzzles I had to reset to get past them by escaping to the main menu but a minor bug. For the price of less than $2 I think it was worth an afternoon curiosity and to support the creator. Think of the game as an existential pat on the back that you’re doing so well and play it when you need a change to your perspective you never expected.

First, I want to say I loved Funorb & Arcanists. This is how I found this game. It’s a crime people don’t make these kind of games & everything is FPS or RPG. There is definitely a NEED for this genre to explode. It requires strategy, aiming, real time thinking, & planning. Setting up your book will give you an advantage, but you’ll lose something every time you add a spell. There is no perfect combination, & each map will play to your strengths or weaknesses. Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way. How does this game stack up with Arcanists - because it IS the elephant in the room?

If you played Arcanists back in the day, you won’t be disappointed with Wizards. It’s exactly like Arcanists, and I’m really glad we have this amazing gem of a game playable again.

Honestly, being able to unlock spells without having to do the grind of ranked matches is really great. I can just play with friends, mess around, and unlock the spells. Solid thumbs up from me!

This is a nice, cozy experience. And i recommend it if you are looking for a chill open-world puzzle game.

This game will strain even supercomputers on highest settings, but you can get it to run just fine with a strong computer. The optimization for potato setups is very poor, so if you are gaming on a potato, like yours trully, check out the discord server for help

This is not for everyone. It is for people who will brew literally everything they forage and then try how it tastes (In this game) - then pour that potion on your stool - then pour another serving on a plant, a la scientific method. This is for the people who enjoy exploration and foraging. The puzzling part is in how collecting some of the plants is a challenge. You have to figure out the right pieces to rub together. Minimalistic style helps by not distracting you from the core gameplay, which is VERY appreciable when you have a lot of potential interactions

Was a novel idea when it first became available on steam. Unfortunately i have never seen any changes made to game play by the creator and the music doesn’t fit the theme of the game. Unable to make any real changes to the home is sad. The well is too far from the house which is OK at first i get what the developer is going for but it is annoying when you have hours 7 hrs into the game. The game has two phases of the day very bright and dark no real twilight. I really wanted to see some progress made anywhere but the game just needs more of everything. No updates come out for the game as far as i can tell. The different climate zones feel unpolished not much in them. The forest don’t feel magical if you are on and island that is for the most part undisturbed the place would have should feel wild and enchanted. It has about every climate zone available all smashed on top of each other a little odd but fine but no caves, and no swamps. The game could use something to simulate weather even a little snow or rain would go a long way not much immersion there is snow on the ground but it is not snowing in the game.

Pretty fun game that has different ways to play the game by using different magic abilities and such. I do wish that the environments were more open and fix some of the animation for different models like the axe throwing one, who does a little T-pose once he throws it. Other than that I’m enjoying it.

The one thing it needs to make it perfect is a replay shortcut button because it’s tedious to go to the top left corner every time. Also the yellow replay button is unintuitively placed in between the exit and “next” button. I think those should have been placed vertically instead of horizontally but nvm.

Real player with 21.5 hrs in game

Arcane golf is, well a golf game, kind of. You are expected to put the ball in a hole, but going through 2d levels it’s closer to a platformer with golf controls than to other minigolf type games.

The visuals of the game are very pleasing, and the game actually has some story behind it, with a character talking you through as you progress with the levels, nothing special but adds some to the world.

The gameplay for the most part is also fun, but there are a few exceptions, most levels are designed with a specific way of beating them in mind, but during some I just couldn’t figure out what that way could be, since they were really open, with no real indicators what the devs had in mind, some lightly tinted wall bricks as to indicate a first hit, or a place to aim at would be a nice touch, as it was admittedly a bit frustrating to just be stuck and try to find a valiable strategy, while messing with angles, places to shoot from or speeds of the hit. It was rare (only a few levels like that) but as there are no guides for the game it was bothersome.
