Penny’s Path
This was a great game, a well-written story. Immersive and creative characters with wonderful spins on late 1600s theology and the power of women. The voice acting is top notch. I really enjoyed it. Sister Benedetta is the best!

A modern day woman gets infected with COVID-19, then … gets sent back in time to the late 1600s of “New England” … or rather has a fever dream?
Praises
• Some animations are pretty.
• The hand-drawn art is a little rough, but it’s a refreshing change from how most visual novels are illustrated.
• Good attempts at old English (I think).
• Criticisms of religion, especially of Puritanism.
Complaints
• No Steam overlay, so no screenshots. (I’m too damn tired for ShareX.)

Witch Stone
Lucky me gets to write the first review for Witch Stone, which is a 2D mobile app tier clicker/physics puzzle from known asset flippers, Piece of Voxel. This is a basic retro puzzle game that plays like Bust-A-Move but without shooting, you just click on balls to make them fall and if they fall the right way they pop.
The artwork is minimal and looks to be phoned in/asset flipped (not a surprise, this is Piece of Voxel we’re dealing with).
There’s no working full screen mode, in fact, if you hit alt+enter, Piece of Voxel actually go out of their way to insult PC gamers by telling you they won’t allow you to try switch to full screen (“Don’t even try, i won’t let you do it), then terminate the game. Insulting your customers is not a winning strategy, but then this is Piece of Voxel, who make a living stealing other people’s work and trying to sell it on Steam as a scam. What’s that? Oh yes:

WizardPunk
Had a good time, reminded me of Custom Robo quite a bit which I loved as a kid. I didn’t play with anybody, because it’s not online multi, which kinda sucks. But the single player had a lot to do. The guilds are a bit awkward to get through, but playing with a full build on day 6 was pretty sweet, lots of things to think about, pretty complex. Looking forward to future patches!

Fast, fun, satisfying fighting game that incorporates a nice blend of different character progression elements. It’s quick to learn but difficult to master and there’s plenty to experiment with. I’m partial to Ignissa but Vito is a close runner up. Looking forward to future updates!

Cartomante – Fortune Teller
A short but fun game set in a fantasy/modern setting where you play a witch who earns her living telling peoples fortunes.
The game has a beautiful art style and does a great job at world building. It has interactive dialog that succeeds at being mysterious, intriguing and often times funny. The game is short but very replayable with various different readings you can get for each person that results in different and often unique outcomes, you can play the same day over and over with different results each time.

This is a really good game. Short, but incredibly charming, an absolute steal for the price.
The dialogue is extremely well written, and it manages to be funny and thought provoking. If you’re like me, you’ll keep replaying it (and reliving the same day a la “Groundhog Day”) until you get the best (or worst) possible ending for all your clients.
Definitely do not sleep on this one!

Kitsune Kitchen
Quite standard visual novel, it probably takes 1 hour to be 100% completed.
The novel itself is about a chef that has to create the perfect BLT (bacon, lettuce and tomato) sandwich and of course, it takes place in a kitchen.
The graphics overall are quite nice and there’s a lot of humour, although the game’s too short and yeah most of all one has to deal with the parodistic/humorous aspects of this all. There are no naked girls, couples to meet, romance or whatever else.. it’s way more down to earth.

My point of view on it - review
You know the phrase this was so bad it’s good?
That would apply here for me, although I didn’t consider it bad, just good.
It was so good that it was good!
For the little price fee this game has you can enjoy the humour of hitting on kitchenware with hilarious endings that includes decent music that you could get in dlc’s for free at the time of writing this review. Therefore I would recommend it, no matter how wrong it is, the humour and laughs are definitely worth it.

Struggle For Talyria
This game has a classic JRPG feel to it. I am so far finding myself invested in the story line and what happens to most of the main characters. The music seems home grown but that just adds to the positive indie feel of the game.
The combat system doesn’t have a wait system which at first was a bit of a shock but the game seems to be balanced around it and did fine easing me into it by the time things started getting difficult and I had to use more than simple attacks to succeed. By then I had rearranged my spells enough to know exactly where to go without having to think about it.
– Real player with 14.1 hrs in game
I just finished the game and wow… this is a fantastic classic RPG. Specifically the story and dialogue blew me away. If you like fantasy novels mixed in with some mystery drama, this game is for you. And also just as importantly, this game doesn’t overstay it’s welcome. It’s FOCUSED (which can’t be said for a lot of modern RPG’s where 80+ hours of fluff and unnecessary side quests is common). Also, the combat is solid. At first the active battle system threw me off, but there is an option in the menu to make time pause on your character’s turn, which I appreciated as it made it more tactical.

Covenanted
Covenanted is a hand-drawn rogue-like with RPG elements and an original turn-based combat system
A contract with the devil is always a bad idea [/]
The heroine of Covenanted, bound by a contract with the Devil, is on a journey through the magical world. Pursued by the Inquisition and blackmailed by the Devil, she has to balance between light and darkness in order to gain the support of powerful allies and break the endless cycle of rebirth
Combat Alchemy [/]
The journey is full of dangers! As the game progresses, the witch collects recipes for unique potions and gathers ingredients to make her magic even more powerful. Each recipe has its own unique effect
Procedural generation [/]
The global map of Covenanted is generated for each session. The variety of locations, the number of opponents and the available rewards are selected in such a way that each race is different from the previous one
Visual style [/]
We pride ourselves on the visual style of the game. All the main elements were drawn with ink on paper and digitized. The world of Covenanted is growing, our artists are working on new characters and locations
Random events and story quests [/]
We want players to feel the impact of the decisions made in story quests throughout the game. Despite one true ending, the fate of the Covenanted side heroes remains in the hands of the player
Fairy Middle Ages [/]
When creating the world, we were inspired by the worlds of the fantasy genre, world folklore, myths and legends. In Covenanted, elves and werewolves live in the same world with the characters of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales and ancient myths
