Sector Six

Sector Six

Note: If you don’t like Diablo-like games please read the last paragraph of this review.

This is like a Diablo game but it is also unique in its way, it is a side scroller, shooter and you build a ship instead of an armored warrior. If you know Diablo-like games you already know this game too is all about loot, grinding and mindlessly destroying, highly addictive stuff. It starts with a story and you shoot various enemies such as spacecrafts, repair drones, bombardment towers, a mini boss enemy you occasionally fight called Apex, and a variety of bosses which are cleverly designed, while dodging projectiles in a bullet-hell like style and stuff, but, after collecting enough compartments to make a build, whether making it through relic items or set items (just like the set items in Diablo), dodging stops, and spamming various abilities and destroying everything in your path begins, and then you go on to grind loot to destroy them more efficiently. So yeah, you get the idea, it is a Diablo game.

Before I start, let me note that since the game is in early access I’m giving it a bit more leeway than usual, but my recommendation is already for the game in its current state.

I’d bought the game through an external website without realising it was in early access, so I was a little anxious to discover it later. I don’t have many good experiences with unfinished games. But I’m glad to report that, despite not being able to finish the full story and the game having some issues, I already got enough fun out of it to be worth the price.

what this game lacks in polish, varied content, and technical skill, it makes up for with pure, unhinged creativity. it’s worth the price solely for the brief story and the ms paint art. i genuinely enjoyed what i have played so far, and i will enjoy it when i play more. i am so excited for what comes next from this developer.

After around 1k hours of play time, I still love to play this gem of a game. New maps, mission types, cosmetics and so on are added from time to time for free. The available DLCs are only special cosmetics and not needed to be purchased except you want to support the developers a bit. Definetely worth a try! #ForKarl #RockandStone #Leavenobeerbehind

Uproar: Explorer of the Worlds

Uproar: Explorer of the Worlds

We are happy to hear any suggestions and ideas from the community and will be glad to talk on our Discord:

Uproar is a third-person game with elements of rogue-like and dungeon crawler genres, where you have to defeat your opponents with improvised weapons. There are 2 gamemodes - multiplayer and singleplayer.

In multiplayer you get into one of many parallel worlds and fight with other players till the last man standing. Winner obtains an artifact.

In singleplayer you have to crawl through randomly generated dungeons with enemies, traps and secrets.

While you are getting through the levels, you can obtain unique artifacts and resources to upgrade your character. The farther you go, the harder it will become, but the prize will also be better.

Features:

  • Every part of the environment can be your weapon (If not, we will add it)

  • Totally destructible (well, almost)

  • Various levels, each with its' unique items

  • Procedural levels and their parts - that makes every game unpredictable

  • Early access. We know how the game must look, but the core idea is so ambitious that we are open to hear your thoughts and ideas!

Multiplayer

Short fast-paced fight till the last man standing. The last player takes artifact with him. You can’t respawn in the match and have only one chance to win.

At the start of the match, your only weapon is your fists, but you can pick up every item that can be a “weapon” (or can’t be). Defeat every other opponent and be the last one! The closer the end of the match is, the more unstable the world becomes and things from other dimensions start to spawn on the map.

Singleplayer(Co-op)

To obtain an artifact on your own you have to go through dungeons that are inhabitat by creatures (not always friendly). Sometimes you will encounter different sort of traps and obstacles, but also there is a chance to find something valuable.

Levels are divided into Realms, but inside each realm they are quite different, with it’s own features and secrets. It will be pretty hard to predict what you find in the future.

Future Features:

  • Companions - small robots that will accompany you in solo adventures. They will be able to help you in fight and in your walkthrough.

  • Your private house - furnish it with artifacts from your adventures and call your friends to show off!

  • Cooperative mode? Ofcourse! Everything is funnier with a party!

Chromatic Labyrinth

Chromatic Labyrinth

Chromatic Labyrinth is a FPS rogue like masterpiece. so simple but so god damn effective at a full 23 minutes of fun (in my case) even though this game is infinite and has hours of fun to offer i do not think that i will play this any longer due to the fact that my next door neighbours children begun crying. But JMoney, Why were your neighbours children crying? i hear you ask, well I’m glad you did. The reason they started crying is because god damn is this game loud and it has no audio setting whatsoever which is a shame as i quite liked my neighbours, not you Sharron. But JMoney, why don’t you like your neighbour Sharron? I hear you ask, well why don’t u ask her, the two faced rascal. anyway, your probably hear to find out about the game chromatic labyrinth so ill give you my honest opinion. The game is fun, I won’t lie, but not as fun as the BBQ i hosted for my neighbours and Sharron the ugly mess of a cow decided it ruin with her fat dog eating all of the sausages.

Cautiously Recommend–Feels Very Much Unfinished

Stumbled upon this a few days back, wishlisted it and bought it today on a whim really digging the music and look the game has. Sometimes you strike out, sometimes you hit paydirt. This is paydirt, a diamond in the rough that after time can be awesome.

It’s VERY rough around the edges and definitely could use lots more polish but it’s highly addictive and the fun factor is very strong if you can get past the many nuances that hold this game back from being amazing.

I’ve written a fairly neutral preview for this game on Gamer Escape, which you can find here: https://gamerescape.com/2020/06/29/preview-danger-scavenger/ . At that time, the game had just switched from being official release to Early Access to address the user feedback based on the mixed steam reivew score (At Gamer Escape we do not do scored reviews for Early Access games)

Within days, the devs for this game have already gone to work with their stated goal: Make the game more appealing to both the twin-stick shooter fans and the roguelike fans whom both had issues with how these mechanics were combined. They have added “Arcade Mode”, which removes the roguelike permadeath mechanics, but also in this mode, each character starts from a different tower, so you get more of a distinct experience with each character in this mode. While it kind of comes off as just a lowered difficulty setting, it does open the game up to a lot of people who find the punishing nature of the roguelike style more frustrating than fun.

Universe

The Vectordic Union is a galactic government that presides over the majority of the Milky-Way galaxy. In the year 2386, following the genocide of the human race, the many other species became divided without any form of central governance. Douglas Simmons, a general in the Giraffe army, took charge of the galaxy by creating the Vectordic Union.

President Douglas Simmons, in his inagural address to the people of Milky-Way, famously said:

Eh yo man does anyone have some paper with which I could roll this plant matter into a cylindrical vessel?

Ever since this day, the galaxy’s primary social classes have become further and further apart, leading to an insanely profitable small set of corporate overlords. Current President Darnel Simmons has gone missing, and the balance of power is teetering for the first time in almost a hundred years. As part of a band of smugglers aboard a rickety nuclear-powered starship, an unbelievable mystery unfolds.
