I had a lot of fun with this game! Fast paced action, good amount of different weapons, funny characters… Despite the simple art style, it also looks gorgeous (I’m in love with some of the light effects). You can thoroughly customise the difficulty with several sliders in Options, where you can also find some helpful accessibility choices.

Some good hours of button smashing fun watching enemies fly all around, and a bit more strategy needed against tougher enemies or particular combinations of them. Some collectibles, hidden stuff, secret ending… Long story short, great indie and good value for your money. As I always say, if it gives you more hours of entertainment than a cinema ticket, it deserves at least that money, right?

This game appeared on my store page and the name caught my attention. After seeing that the game wasn’t that much I decided to buy it, and I can say the game is definitely worth the price. If you ever just want the ability to rip through hordes of enemies and just feel the satisfaction of taking out a large group of minions at once then this game differently achieves that.

One thing for certain is that you need to have patience since some of the bosses are pretty challenging. But with enough perseverance, you can beat any of the bosses. This game is a 10/10 for me and even though I have beaten the game to 100% I am definitely going to play more.

From a casual standpoint this game is great. For the price it has so much content. You can play through the game several times and the massive amount of random weapons keeps the game fresh. There are cool hidden places to explore that you will find on subsequent runs that yield different weapons. Some weapons don’t feel great but the dev patches so often and guns are constantly being made smoother. My big complaint with combat is that I cannot see my reticle easily. I don’t know if this is a resolution scaling issue because I play on 2k or not. MOST IMPORTANTLY OF ALL the game is getting so much free content. New weapons, abilities, and areas have been patched in since I first started playing. A WHOLE NEW EXPANSION will be FREE at the end of the month that nearly doubles the games length. Now for those of you wondering how I have so many hours in this game, I speedrun it and boy is it amazing for that. The modern movement in a classic style shooter plus the perfect amount of breakable stuff makes it the most fun speedrun I’ve ever done. This game has something for everyone. If you struggle with the tutorialisation please don’t just quit, give it an effort. The tutorial is much improved. It’s $6 just try it gamers. NOTE: I was given a copy for free about a month early to help with some QA since I expressed interest, but I promise this does not vastly change my opinion nor was I paid for anything.

The effort made and put into Apastron (especially from a one man developer) is pretty admirable. Here you have what amounts to the first episode (about 2 to 2-1/2 hours of game) of a unique world peopled by an oppressive corporation and the resistance that would oppose them.

While the game has its ‘open’ moments, the structure is indeed Episode 1: Level 1 in structure and it does proceed normally, that is to say, completely linearly. There is a bit of down time between missions but that is mostly used exploring the small hub town and speaking to the denizens about their day-to-day and their individual goings-on and to collect some currency and spend it at the weapon-shop.

I got gifted this game and I have multiple questions but Damn this game is fun.

Edit: I have finally completed all the acheivments, i never want to touch this game again after the trauma I have witnessed from the screaming furries. Their voices still echo in my head with their blood lingering everywhere on my hands. I have seen pure horror in their eyes.

Enjoyed the hour or so playing this game. It was a bit clunky but it all worked. Very simple point and shoot, no instructions required. Not sure the ‘acting’ was a deliberately hammy or just not very good either way I took it all as a bit of fun. I have paid a lot more for games I could not be bothered with after a hour.

For the price the game is OK, we get what we paid for, on the collector side, it’s a cheap +1 to your game count, on the +1 to perfect games it’s just as easy +1 add on, the game doesn’t require much to 100% it.

The game itself now. it’s pretty small game that can be completed quite fast, it depends on you. The levels however gets harder as you move forward with them, adding a nice challenge to the game. The game is pretty much a standard 2D style game, the zombie animations are done quite decently and they look great too. The background art, along with the retro/ pixel art design really comes together nicely giving us a visually appealing game.
