SOLAS 128

SOLAS 128

This is a contender for my favourite puzzle game of all time.

I have played literally hundreds of puzzle games, to the point where I am basically burned out on puzzles… so when I saw Solas 128 I thought “uh-huh… lasers, mirrors, yada yada” but boy oh boy was that initial assessment wrong!

This game takes what seem like familiar puzzle elements, adds some brilliant twists and builds a huge sequence of constantly surprising puzzles from them. Time and again it hits you with those “wait but that’s impossible” problems, before delighting you with your own genius a few minutes later. On top of that, the puzzles are all integrated into a single overworld, so that they connect and interact with each other, adding another mind-blowing layer to the experience. It’s a vast intricate clockwork construction of utter perfection.

This is an absolute belter of a game. If you’re into puzzle games, you should definitely pick this up.

The “bounce lasers off mirrors” idea may sound derivative, but Solas manages to make it interesting again. The light beams have symbols travelling along them to the beat, and these can interact - if they collide the colours combine and the combined beam changes direction. So sometimes you need to get the symbols to line up, sometimes they need to be out of step so the beams can pass through each other. Combined beams can be separated with splitters - there’s lots going on here, and the game introduces them at just the right rate to keep things interesting.

This is a very good puzzler with a great OST .

Sadly this one goes in the buried gems category, it is always sad to see a quality game like this not getting more attention.

The game has some very smartly designed and tricky levels, more then enough content, most of the game is medium difficulty but there are harder levels and for me they are a highlight of this game.

This game is pure quality in every aspect and worth every cent.

The movement is intuitive enough for you to work backwards - so you can get ideas as to what needs to be done without the entire puzzle being spoiled. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a ~10 hour ish puzzle game.

Neon is a great game with some challenging maps. However, it is very short. It took me only 50 minutes to finish the game. The level menu could be improved. Some might enjoy it. Score: 7/10.

Really cool game, felt more challenged every level that I passed. Great learning curve and also loved the puzzles and inspiring phrases.

Totally worth it and the fact that you don’t have to worry about price makes it even better.

Don’t be put off by the lack of reviews in English. This is actually a really nice puzzle game. The levels are varied enough to stay interesting and the learning curve is steady without any jarring leaps. Colloc feels very complete, with a nice outer map screen and charming backgrounds in the levels. There are simple and clear instructions for the main mechanics, which I really appreciate.

The only feature that was missing for me was an undo button. As most of the levels were short (less than 30 moves) it wasn’t a problem through the easier parts of the game, just on a few of the bigger levels with 30-55 moves. Still, it wasn’t a huge issue as the character movement is easy and fast.

was ready to recommend it before even buying it..

but not as long as there a crucial troll bug - pieces speed randomly increases so much it’s unplayable and you can’t do a thing.

fix it.

also, as was mentioned - slow moving animation. and a fact you can not move some pieces when they close to a wall. clunky controls.

upd: while speedplaying, “ghost blocks” may happen. when texture glitches, and actual invisible models keep going.

I don’t usually like doing reviews, especially negative ones, but I feel like I need to do this one, because honestly I find the 78% positive reviews on this game really misleading.

I love tetris, and I like playing a decent tetris clone. Unfortunately this game is not decent, at least by my standards.

Let’s start with the pros, which are few and far between: this game is cheap, it has colorful achievements and they are fairly “easy” to get (took me 1,5 hours roughly).

Ok now the reasons why I can’t recommend this game, even for the dirty cheap price of 39 cents when it’s on sale:

Well, the fact that I have more than ten hours of gameplay might scare some people. But relax, it’s completely optional, but you’ll have a long journey if you want to have all the acheviements. The game itself gives you the option to “facilitate”

• The story is simple. But extremely good. So if you don’t want to have all the achievements, the story will entertain you anyway (you won’t regret playing)

• The settings are perfect, and basically, the graphics will make you “happy”. It’s something that brings harmony to the eyes, even being something simple

Depending on what you’re looking for in this prologue, it could be very short, and it could also be frustratingly long.

My first run playing through this game took me 25 minutes. I focused on the story and primarily made the necessary coding changes to proceed through the game. I also unlocked 3 of the achievements then.

I spent a little over 3 hours stuck in the secret area until I finally decided to relent and check the Discord server to find out that I had to close the game to get out of there. I spent around 7 minutes beating the UwU/OwO game fairly and between 5 to 8 minutes for the P/\DDLE game. I spent the rest of the time unlocking the other achievements and looking for the 1D codes.

One of the most charming games I’ve ever played! It’s teaming with humor, along with a heartfelt “tail” of two brothers! The visuals and animations are soothing and the soundtrack is top notch! (It’s also on bandcamp and Dumivid’s Youtube channel for casual listening!)

And the puzzles are nothing to scoff at! Are you overthinking that one level? Or not thinking it through enough?! (Level 7 comes for us all!) Reaching the end is a commendable feat! The journey is more than worth it to reach it!
