Disobedient Sheep

Disobedient Sheep

This game is completely mad and great fun in local multiplayer, especially with my young kids - it’s simple enough for them to enjoy and doesn’t really matter if you play it well or not. It becomes complete mayhem with several dangerous items appearing or about to appear as you try to guide or bark the sheep away from danger! The different play modes are fun, the visuals are bright and appealing, the music suitably frenetic and some cheesy voice acting is a nice addition.

Since the last update controller support has greatly improved, and having 3 or 4 players madly scrambling around trying to keep the sheep safe is a blast. I thoroughly recommend Disobedient Sheep to anyone who has a few people in the house who want to play a game together, especially if some of them are young children.

Disobedient Sheep is a couch-multiplayer party game with a heavy survival emphasis.

That it, the survival of some super-cute balls of wool that cannot, without your help, avoid the many genuine and lifelike hazards that come with being a sheep in today’s modern times. Ominously slow rolling boulders, falling anvils and anchors, bombs and of course the shepherd staple dynamite all await your precarious flock.

You play as a sheepdog, of which there are several cuddly variants, darting around the map for a time period dying to bark and generally hustle your sheep out of the way of these deadly obstacles. Your sheep act realistically, and group together in small flocks, but occasionally freak out at their impending existential nightmare and scurry off, making this challenge much harder than it sounds. As time goes on more and more dangers are thrown your way, making the final few seconds quite chaotic.

Flock of Dogs

Flock of Dogs

Flock of Dogs is a top-down, twin-stick, crew game. Most of the time, one player pilots the whale and everyone else rides flying dogs to battle and quest. Players can land on the whale and relaunch when ready. The journey leads to the Flying Festival through procedurally-generated, floating biomes with a mix of creatures, characters, and quests.

Together with your brother and sister Dogriders, mount up on flying dogs. Name them. Teach them tricks. Then put on a fancy hat, grab your umbrella, and soar through the air. Make sure to tend to your flock as dogs can get hungry, thirsty, sick, and injured.

A friendly skywhale acts kinda like your living airship. It will provide plenty of inventory space in its big belly and nests for your flying dogs. You can also strap different gear onto the whale, such as the water hose, vacuum turret, or just extra shelves.

  • Travel to the Flying Festival

  • Pick up hitchhikers on the way to the Flying Festival

  • Battle monsters to protect the hitchhikers you pick up on the way to the Festival

  • Fire broadsides from whale-mounted cannons

  • Be swallowed by a whale and then be spouted out of its belly

  • Collect solar power and mop up environmental disasters

  • Wear hats

  • The Flying Festival at the end of the Air River

  • Your treehouse on a floating island

  • Blue Blob Land

  • The eye of a sandstorm

  • Into a dark cave filled with monsters

  • Into a bightly lit cave to party with friends

  • A lighthouse

  • The land of giants

There is support for up to 8 LOCAL and/or ONLINE players. Singleplayer. 2 players on 1 keyboard. Dozens of supported controllers. And it features native network code built on the Photon Unity Networking plug-in. Of course, it also supports Steam Remote Play Together.

Every copy of Flock of Dogs comes with one Friend Slot. It’s not exactly 2-for-1, but in some ways, it’s better. A Friend Slot allows you to invite one friend who doesn’t own the game to join you online. This utilizes the native network code. You can invite any friend, and each time, it can be a different friend. Additional Friend Slots will be available for purchase.

Flock of Dogs is inspired by storybooks, cartoons, and suburban parks. It features hand-drawn characters and painted environments. It is filled with color and quirkiness and danger. Brave adventures can seek out dark caves filled with monsters, while those wanting a leisurely float to the Flying Festival are also accomodated. Wherever, however, and with whomever you play Fock of Dogs, It’s a magical flight.

Corgi Warlock

Corgi Warlock

I’ve spent several hours playing Corgi Warlock, and overall, I have to say that I’m impressed with the game. It’s a side-scrolling action platformer with monsters to kill, loot to collect, and upgrades to attain.

The graphics and soundtrack are good, and the controller mechanics are both consistent and responsive. I enjoy gaming with a controller, and nothing disappoints me more than a game that advertises full controller support but doesn’t deliver. Corgi Warlock delivers.

There are 10 levels to the game, and so far, I’ve made it to level 7. What I thought at first was a casual gaming experience is actually really quite challenging. The layout of the levels isn’t where the challenge comes in, it’s the progression of monsters with varying degrees of health coming across the screen at a steadily increasing pace.

So this is a pretty fun game for a little bit of money. I got it for the local co-op because me and my girlfriend like playing games together on one screen. While it’s a bit too hard for her, I think the difficulty’s not too bad. If you’re any good at bullethell games or learning enemy patterns quickly, you’ll have no real problems either. Level design’s pretty good and some parts reminded me of NES Contra and the Megaman series (though scaled down and more linear.) I haven’t gotten to try the battle mode yet, but it looks interesting. The graphics are fun and the weapons are interesting and diverse enough for a short game like this. My main critiques are pretty much all technical things. I only have PS3 controllers (which worked fine) and since you can’t change keybinds (without using an external program), the “jump” key is in a pretty awkward place. Being able to swap buttons around would be great. Also, it needs an easier difficulty for less experienced players. I could see my neices and nephews wanting to play a title like this and not being able to get anywhere on it. To be nitpicky, I guess, like most videogames, there’s nothing to spend money on later in the game. I beat the last boss with almost 2000 gold. It’s probably from playing steam games, but I kinda feel I should be able to buy some hats or something in it. Maybe buy magic spell upgrades earlier than you would normally get them. Since this has almost been out for a year, I doubt a major patch is going to come to change these things, so maybe it’ll change in a sequel. All in all, lotsa fun for a little price. Give it a try.

My friends and I had a lot of fun playing this game.

There are some bugs that need fixing, but none that make the game unplayable.

Also the controls are a little sensitive, but they aren’t to bad.

WE did have an issue with pairing our controllers with it, and ended up having to switch to our keyboards instead, but over all we had a blast playing it.

Controls in general are very simple, and easy to pick up.

The once thriving city full of animals has been taken over by cats. They’ve enslaved all the animals and put collars on them. Those that have refused to obey have been kicked out of the city and crammed into slums. You are playing an oppressed dog named “Chips”. He grew up in the slums and recently joined a rebellion group in order to take back the city and end the cats’ tyranny once and for all.

In order to defeat the cats, you will have to save other animals who are captive to their rule. Create diversions, look for different items that can help you in your rebellion, and brawl with cats along the way.

Utilize different mechanics in order to proceed though the game. As a dog, you have an amazing sense of smell; use it to find items and secret locations.

Pick up boxes, cats and other animals, shake them well and throw them away! No obstacle or cat should stand on your way!

If crushing everything on your way is not a solution, use boxes, trash cans and bushes to hide. Use your stealth for sneak attacks on your enemies or to proceed undetected.

key Features:

  • Four main regions, each containing 8 levels to complete.

  • Co-op mode up to 2 players.

  • Purchase more than 15 different items in the shop.

DOG GONE GOLFING

DOG GONE GOLFING

Dog Gone Golfing is an adorable title where you pick a dog and go golfing…with hockey pucks because the dogs chewed all the golf balls up. The game itself is fairly simple, with the objective being to get the puck in the hole in as few moves as possible. This game is easy to pick up and play, and if you aren’t careful, you might get sucked in for hours. I was really impressed with the amount of content that was in this game despite it being only $2.29. Overall, it’s a great and charming game for your library. :)

A simple Worms-style gameplay, at a rock-bottom price. Could have used more polish. For example, the functions of the two action-types are not explained. There are no golf clubs to select, nor directions to aim. The mechanics of obsticles, wind speeds, and ability-skills are not explained. The system of meta-game unlocks are not explained. Also, I am very annoyed that the xbox-style gamepad controller doesn’t work.

If you have the patience to look past the short-comings, then I think there is a golf-campaign to be explored. You will be limited to only one club, only hitting the ball straight ahead, and a having to learn as you go. Maybe you can even get your controller working with it. Dog Gone Golfing uses the Game Maker game engine. I tried playing this on an Ubuntu 18.10 system.

Whether you are a fan of the Shoot em' up genre or just looking for something to play with your friends on a game night this is a nice game to play!

This game has fast-paced action with varied level design that will keep you playing it until the end, Keep in mind that this is a short but sweet game (Just like the classics such a Gradius) although considering the price tag that’s totally fair.

Although good this game is not perfect, some times the game throws you mandatory dialogue between a stage or before a boss battle and don’t get me wrong I love the characters and the great story they built here but once you want to replay this game or a stage it can become annoying, a skip button for those would be excellent.

☑️Challenging Shoot Em Up.

☑️Fun game to Co-op / Remote Play

B.ARK is a very colorful and cute throwback to the classic shoot em up games from the golden ages. Games like U.N. Squadron, R-Type and many others that hit’s a special place in a 80s/90s kids heart.

The game comes with a rather unusual twist, there is a solid emotional story about the crew of animals that have been lost in space after their team of scientists detached their space ship after being caught and pulled back down to earth by the aliens that were invading the planet.
