Doom & Destiny Worlds

Doom & Destiny Worlds

Was a huge fan of the first two games, so I was excited about diving into the world of Do&De again. Crafting games aren’t normally my favorite, but this one keeps things simple enough that I can manage (no hunger/thirst meters, THANK YOU), I’m also not a fan of item deterioration, but it makes sense with the crafting. so far I’ve explored 11 different islands. the puzzles are pretty straighforward so far, but the crafting really drags out progressing the story, especially when your weapons and armor break and you have to make new ones.

Doom & Destiny Worlds third part from the D&D series. In this part we will find a completely new approach to the game. First of all, an open world which is very large. Many of different islands with challenges and lot of strange monsters to defeat. Crafting is also new thing. You can create all your equipment. Lots of weird potions to kick up your nerds. Being able to build and destroy almost anything. Simply a wonderful adventure for hours. Just Gigawesome game! I also recommend the previous parts which are just as great as this one. I already have, and you?

Soul Searching

Soul Searching

SPOILERS

In “Soul Searching,” there is a main purpose that is NOT supported by the game itself. That unsupported purpose is that we as people have to tackle our problems, not run away from them. While the black-and-white cutscenes do have characters that reflect upon this concept, the main story diverts completely away from it. The main story is short and very uneventful. You seem to be soul searching only because your ancestors did so, not because you actually need to. What did soul searching have to do with mending the friendship between people and dragons again? The story is completely capable of completion WITHOUT awakening any souls and learning their ablities. When the dragon took me back to my home island and the game ended, I wondered if throughout the game I was either trying to save souls (from what?) or create peace with dragons and humans again. Would I reccomend this game for only seven dollars? Only if you’re looking for something aesthetic and pleasing to the eye. But to those who are searching for a clear and sensible story, be warned.

Here we have a lovely indie game filled with melancholy, depresssion, hope, dreams, death and living. It is a very small game but you can clearly see that every piece of it made with love and care.

The story mode is maybe a bit short but definitely sweet and surely make you smile and warm your heart. Also you’ll probably miss somethings at your first play so you’ll give it an another try at least on more time.

Also when you have couple of your friends with you, you could try random mode. Playing it solo was fun, sailing with your ship etc. but it is much much more fun when you have your friends with you to sail with. When everyone operating a different stuff on the ship, people coordinating how to sail, navigate, fish then you’ll see how it is totally different from the story mode but equally if not more fun to play.

How to Survive

How to Survive

More or less detailed survival simulator + zombie grinder. Basically, survival part always puts you into some time limit, whether you have to find a place to sleep, or find food or water. But if you are careful and collect/use things around you in the right way, you’ll deal with that part easily. Then comes zombie grinder part - you have to autoaim with melee or self-made firearms, trying either to QTE or headshot every zombie you meet. Sounds simple, but it can actually be a lot of fun.

So, to pros:

-Quick Review-

Atratzu’s Rules: Chapter 1, this game is excellent.

How to Survive is a zombie-survival game developed by EKO Software and released October 2013.

-Detailed breakdown review-

Story: As with any “zombie apocalypse story” there’s only so much you can deviate from the status quo. You wake up after a shipwreck, find you’re on an island with zombies, need to go do a number of fetch quests while all the wimps hide and you bring the carnage!

Gameplay: This is where the game impressed me, but before I jump the gun and explain what I like… the controls are very basic, use mouse buttons to aim and fire/swing, ASDW to move, the game is played from the third person fixed above view camera.

Death Road to Canada

Death Road to Canada

I discovered this game from a silly streamer playing it. It looked very goofy and also a lot of fun so I thought I give it a try also. Well I have to say I am rather shocked how many hours I ended up putting into it, it is honestly one of my all time favorite games. So here is a review from someone who has some “modest” amount of experience in the game.

Your goal is to reach this magical place of legend called Canada that for whatever reason is still safe in the zombie apocalypse. So it is up to your EXTREMELY COMPETENT AND TRUSTWORTHY characters to survive.

Real player with 200.3 hrs in game

I’ve been having a lot of fun with this game, and I’ve been having trouble putting it down. Death Road To Canada is basically Oregon Trail in a zombie apocalypse with a quirky sense of humor that you can easily sink hours into playing. While RNG plays a big role in the game, your skill can turn a bad run around and make a good run last all the way to Canada.

Pros:

+The gameplay is well executed, and there’s loads of variety. While the game is somewhat difficult, you’re given many tips and pointers when progressing to help you improve your strategy and create characters that will get you to Canada. If you’re looking for a challenge, there’s multiple hard modes that push you to the limit, such as having the trip take twice as long or even having double the zombies throughout the entire journey.

! I will beat KEPA mode someday. When fighting zombies, the outcome is reliant on your skill and what you can do with the materials at hand - sure, the game’s much easier if you have an automatic weapon and a lot of ammo, but you have to use it wisely as not only is it quick to use up your stock but also you’re limited on how much you can carry for each gun. Being able to create yourself, family, friends, and characters from different forms of media makes the game a lot more enjoyable and leads to lots of different outcomes and situations.

Introduction

It Came From Space, and Ate Our Brains is a top down shooter where you fight waves of aliens trying to eat your brains. I was skeptical with going into this game because of the blocky style graphics, but I was pleasantly surprised. It Came From Space, and Ate Our Brains has plenty of different guns/upgrades, maps, powerups, and different aliens. Along with the six maps currently there is more on the way and 4 different difficulties that are vastly different. The only real issue with It Came From Space, and Ate Our Brains is the fact of the camera gets blocked by map structures, but this issues is far and in between. Triangle Studios really has a hidden gem with It Came From Space, and Ate Our Brains, from the unique graphics style to the fun multiplayer.

Some games dont look like much at first, but keep you coming back for more and more without realizing why. This is one of them.

With so many top down shooters and alien themed games on Steam, why is this so good? Because the aliens are pink and glow in the dark? Thats actually cool too , but here is why you should get this game:

Game play / Game mechanics: the controls are very smooth , so is the scrolling / gameflow and motion in general, creating a very pleasing game experience. For top down shooters with “twin stick” controls ( move with one stick , aim freely with the other ) this is critical. Not many people realize but this is usually what decides whether the game is great or terrible in this genre.

Shield Impact

Shield Impact

maybe some more gamemodes would be nice. Like a mission gamemode (kill 10 enemies in 15 seconds for example), or a gamemode were you play as the enemy would be super cool.

But it’s a nice little game

7.3/10

Real player with 3.4 hrs in game

The player character goes invisible after first game played and there is no actual bots, hardly even any pattern to compete with or gameplay. It needs to be fixed..

I did not refund it, as the original idea is kind of great.. !

Shields are always underestimated. But that underestimation only returns stronger with this game.

Not only the game craps out and it is the gamebreaking bug where the character disappears every retry.

It is a try and retry centered game. Not really worth anything like this. Could been really great but always forget to retry.

My Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, ‘If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.’. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- ‘Don’t ever smoke. Please don’t put your family through what your Grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because this game gave me cancer anyway.

Apparently the blast zone is actually quite large. BlastZone 2 is a short indie side scrolling shooter (ala R-type but I wouldn’t say this game is that similar to R-type) made by solo developer Mat Edzenga. It features a number of different ships with different load outs, 8 stages filled with enemy ships, interesting 3D graphics and a few extra modes to try your hand at once you have beaten the main game. It also has local 2 players, controller support and costs only a few bucks.

I, personally, love atmosphere of the game. It’s a great option to spend a whole bunch of time exploring, looting and getting to know this post-apocalyptic fantasy world alone or with friends!

Great soundtrack and ,all be it outdated, but decent visuals.

Flexible class system: mix and match various specializations with plenty of weapons and armor to compliment them.

This is the case where nothing is “unusable” or “absolutely best”.

4 base massive maps with whole bunch of dungeon space to explore along with 3 factions with their own quest lines to choose from provide good replayability. DLC add 2 more large locations and 1 faction.

First, this game is pure fun! At first I admit I sweared a lot till I found my game style because I “died” many times. I found myself more than once come back in a middle of a bandit camp without my backpack, crwaling my way to it to run and get out before I get cought again or wake up in a cave at the far end of the map. But this game is forgiving when you die and you don’t really lose anything. Though this game is though, there are enough different character skills or classes you can do so you can find one to your playstyle. Just don’t expect to spam your attack even on simple enemies because you’ll die and die again and it will be your doom. if you’re having trouble to get through a battle, just use your head. Place as many traps as you can and be a coward and run from it because you don’t always have to fight to get things done. Sometimes you can simply run, get what you need and run back to where you want if thats what you can do to succeed.
