I really wish that Steam would have a neutral rating possibility, because after finishing it in coop and single player and getting all the achievements, I’m pretty torn about it. Would I recommend it? To myself in hindsight, no, to other players with different expectations, maybe, but under heavy caveats. But let me elaborate.

Morkredd is a meanwhile pretty standard Unity coop physics-puzzler with light&shadow-mechanics. You can pretty much get a good impression of the gameplay in the trailers, stay in the light and avoid the shadows of the environment as well as of your coop partner while moving a large ball of light through the levels. Visuals are at most times pretty bleak but serve their purpose, with a handful of some short more interesting sequences strewn in (about once per level). Sounds are few. Most of the game isn’t really hard in coop, puzzles are obvious, skill- or time-based sequences aren’t too demanding. You’ll probably die a lot anyway (some sequences, especially at the end can get annoying), but there are a lot of checkpoints. Single player is also doable, but only if you’re used to controlling the left and right analog stick simultaneously (one stick controls one character) which can get confusing in-between (there’s a button to switch characters’ sides on the fly, but it doesn’t really help when characters have to pass above and below each other). Like all reviews say, the game definitely is very short, should take 2-3 hours at a maximum (depends on how often you die).

Great concept and full of charm. Love how new twists on the mechanics are constantly being introduced into the game. Looking forward to see it develops.

Super Retro Fighter

Super Retro Fighter

This review is not final as the game is still in Early Access (v 0.9.7 beta at the time of the review). It may change to a positive review, depending on future changes, rebalancing and additions and I do believe that it has the potential to become a very fun game.

Super Retro Fighter is an individual stages vertizontal shmup that is intentionally designed to be frustrating. So far, it only has one mode. While it’s called Arcade Mode, it lets you select an individual stage to take on. You unlock one after another and gain upgrade points based on your performance that you can spend on extra ships, bombs and shot power. These will certainly aid you but the trial and error remains.

Really fun game. It has an 80’s retro vibe to the music which is pretty awesome.

There is 3 ships to choose from and each one is unique for different guns to accomodate different playstyles.

Some stages that can get pretty frustrating but at least you can stage select to retry same stage as often as you want.

Also, there is a system to make your ship stronger , buy more lives, etc.

Controls: It feels responsive using a gamepad.

I use a Dual Shock 4 wired with USB cable and game recognizes at a PS4 controller.

This game is fun. I didn’t play with 2 players, but coordinating myself jumping and moving was still a big challenge. Try out the game. It’s good for what it’s worth.

I found this game by looking for a couch co-op that I could play with my lady who likes puzzle games. We were pleasantly surprised by how simple and yet fun the game is.

Sacred 3

Sacred 3

Giving Sacred 3 a negative review is like beating a dead horse. With a bloody Mjölnir. And extreme prejudice. Everybody hated this game. Literally, everybody. But since it was years since the initial release of the game and all of us had more than enough time to calm down a bit, I think it’s a good time to look back for a bit and think. Was Sacred 3 really that bad? Let’s find out.

The original Sacred was a blast. Not only it was one of the most ambitious games in the genre (up to this day nobody ever tried to create such a huge ARPG, as long as we’re not talking “online only” stuff), it was also one of those rare cases when ambitions didn’t lead to the failure. It was a huge game taking place in open world environment. And it was good. Sure, the balance was all over the place but the game wasn’t about balance. It was about pure ARPG fun in a scale that never been shown before. Well, technically it was but you know what I mean. We’re talking Diablo here, not The Faery Tale Adventure. Not only the world in Sacred was huge, it also looked beautiful, had a nice handmade feeling and there were tons of quests to complete. Naturally, as the result, it ended up being a big hit. Press loved it, players loved it, there were novels, merchandise and so on.

Let’s get one thing straight.

To Sacred 1 fans, this game is a total disaster and an affront to old fans like myself.

To everyone else, this is an amazing CASUAL game where you sit on the couch and you play on the controller with your buddies.

This game can’t be considered a true-to-Sacred game. You will be severely disappointed if you expect awesome loot sets, lots of cities and landscapes to explore, dragons to slay, and quests to undertake. It’s NOT that kind of game. Sacred 3 is not Sacred 1 or 2. Not even remotely close.

Catty & Batty: The Spirit Guide

Catty & Batty: The Spirit Guide

Catty and Batty is a lighthearted game about the friendship of a cat and a bat solving over 50 different puzzles TOGETHER. It fits in a series of indie games I have come to appreciate for their romantic theme, cooperative game-play and casual difficulty which is perfect to introduce computer gaming to your girlfriend. Hand-drawn sprites and original music also provide a special charm.

Real player with 6.9 hrs in game

A wonderful short adventure about Catty and Batty using all the carboard boxes in the world to help a bunch of spirits to get home.

Everything in this game is charming - from hand drawn characters sprites to piano music.

Puzzles are inventive, you getting a new stuff every level, but they’re not hardcore, you can literally complete the whole game in one evening.

A perfect gift to someone you like and an oppotrunity to spend a relaxing and fun night playing it in Co-op.

PAW Patrol Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay

4 year old paw patrol fan is enjoying it. It has the paw paw boogie, minigames from the missions are available to be replayed from the menu, all missions are cooperative (both characters are needed to complete them but both characters are also playable from one controller by changing them, kind of like Lego games, in case you are playing single). Overall fun game to enjoy with our kids :)

Keep in mind the second player can join after completing a bit of a tutorial from the first mission. Then second player press start and joins.

sometimes the dialogue has to be skipped with pressing “A”, and sometimes you just have to wait.

at the end of every mission you have to press “Y” to continue, and then “A” from there on out. ridiculous.

they can probably get away with making such a terrible game because they know there’s no other paw patrol games out there.
