Hamilton’s Great Adventure

Hamilton’s Great Adventure

This game is an absolute nightmare to play. (Providing you get it to work).

I consider myself a very technically able person, however this took me 2 hours to get it working, after messing around with various settings and uninstalling the outdated junk that came with this. (I never managed to get the sound working, which was OK for me, I viewed a few video’s and the sound was far too repetative).

I love puzzles games and I’ve played a wide variety of them.

However this game is just boring, repetative and the timing sections for this game are a nightmare.

Hamilton’s Great Adventure is a very good puzzle/adventure game, in which you have to find the right path in order to reach the exit of each level. It might look simple at first, but as the game progresses, the complexity increases, with new enemies, traps, and more complex layouts. Getting all the coins, while being an optional challenge, is well worth it to put your skills to the test.

As I mentioned in the opening paragraph, the gameplay consists on finding the path to the exit. Of course, you must first get the key (or keys) needed to open the exit door (and other doors which might be in your way). You play as Hamilton (the explorer) and Sasha (the bird). While Hamilton must grab the keys and reach the exit, Sasha can help you by distracting enemies, or using certain switches in order to open some doors or activate elevators. As you progress through each chapter, you’ll also get special items that Hamilton can use. The level design is very good; while the earlier levels are easy enough for you to learn the game, the latter levels can become very challenging, especially if you’re trying to get gold on them; not to mention the bonus levels available in each chapter.

I love the game, I think it should have tutorials for newbies. Otherwise, the art is cute and game play is good.

Arise: A Simple Story

Arise: A Simple Story

Super Mario 3D World, if everything weren’t cats, they removed the Wii U gamepad, and wasn’t Super Mario 3D world

Random title cause I felt like it. I’m not sure on whether to give a ‘recommended’ or ‘not recommended’ for this game, cause it’s a 50/50 split between aspects of this game that I liked, and the ones that infuriated me.

Pros:

  • The Level Designs are amazing. Most games with a persistent time-switching mechanic only have 2 versions of the same map that show the past and the future, and pressing a button transports you to one or the other, but this game lets you slowly see the polygons shift whilst giving you the feeling of manually seeking and rewinding time like it’s a tape recorder. While most puzzles require you to only go back and forth between 2 points in time and freeze it, some puzzles

! (like the rolling boulder or the falling log in level 3) have you constantaneously scrub time and walk at the same time.

## Carly and the Reaperman - Escape from the Underworld

Review changed to positive after returning to finish the game.

Our initial few hours in the game were plagued by controller issues: the PC player's controller would periodically stop working.

What we managed to play we loved though, and after returning a few months later controller problems seemed resolved, and we got through several worlds worth of excellent levels.

Another break happened when my headset needed warranty repair (not this games fault!), and when we came back again our progress was stuck. New worlds wouldn't open up, and the hub NPC's dialogue was back at the start of the game. Our progress was all saved; every level we entered correctly showed all the collectable fireflies were still caught, but we had to play through every (now empty) level again in order to advance the story.

My wife asked to write the review for this one:

"Carly and the Reaperman is even more fun than the trailer suggests! I had the happiest of times playing with my husband. His platforming skills made him the best choice for Carly and I played as the Reaperman. With its beautiful art style, increasingly elaborate level design and a seemingly simple, yet very poignant narrative, Carly delivers one of the most creative VR experiences that I have ever played.

That being said, it does have some flaws. Several glitches in the game resulted in lost progress, forcing us to repeat some of the most difficult levels. In one instance, we found a way to cheat through some pixel perfect platforming just to avoid having to repeat the entire puzzle for a 2nd time.

So I read the reviews which there were many negative, and I get what they're saying. I like many others was unable to get the game to even run, but there is an easy fix. So I got the to run and been having a blast replaying the classic game. I've played both 1 and 2 countless times on my wii. The game definitely w as thrown into steam with a lot of glitches and problems, but I still enjoy it. My one big issue, I have reached a glitch I believe to pretty much be gamebreaking for me. Its a rather routine part where mickey and oswald move a turnstile and then a door opens, but the turnstile stops early and you cant move it more, so the door doesnt open. So my PC playthrough is basically over only 7 hours in which is sad. If by some miracle I am able to get past this glitch then hopefully I can finish it, but until then. I personally am unable to complete the game. If anyone else has had this issue im eager to know.

It's probably weird to say for my age. I have been acknowledge the original show since Disney channel before the game was come out.

But in general why I'm into this game?? I know that the game itself was kinda not for my age. But myself, big fan of 3D platformer like this, I can't really pull it away. Its very lightheaded game. The original show might get me into as well.

The fun part for me is just keep collecting and unlocking. Also has quite huge open-world to exploration. Racing mode is kinda fun as well. I was able get all of achievements by 2 days along play through the game. Only thing I was wish is the color tone itself, somehow not colorful as the show. But if that is the bast engine can do.

## Come with Me

Awesome game, speed run going up in about 7 days when I can make a category. Lots of fun, even though it's a short game its worth checking out. There was a little glitch here and there but nothing game breaking. The concept of one player being taller, square and allowing the other player to jump on their head and carry them around, and the other being able to fit into smaller spaces and not be able to walk through water is amazing. It would allow for a lot of different puzzle ideas if it was a little longer I feel there was a lot of things you could do. Like maybe having the smaller player go through a tunnel and push a button to let the other player through or something like that. It could also allow for more world focused elements that slowly combine and get harder over time as the mix and combine. Of course all of this is assuming there will be another version, witch I hope for, but I understand how long it takes to code something like this.
