Touhou Gensokyo Visitor

Touhou Gensokyo Visitor

If you’re a Touhou fan, the circular writing and explanations of the setting you’re already familiar with will probably bore you, if the characterizations and canon divergences don’t outright annoy or infuriate you. If you aren’t, I don’t know if this would be a compelling introduction to the series.

The art assets and occasional sparks of animation are quite good, but the VN as a whole is bland and long-winded. The focus is on a relationship that doesn’t have any depth or interest, between a cardboard cutout and an out-of-character Reimu. The game is riddled with typoes to boot, and this is after a typo-squashing patch.

Not really sure what I just played, but I’m not regretting at giving it the time.

What I’ll commend the most is the visuals; the dynamic animations and art that are used with the character sprites and CGs were something that I wasn’t expecting from the get-go. They all look well-made, polished and up-to-date.

The new designs for the characters were mostly solid and pretty faithful to the original designs, save for a few; Not really a fan of Sakuya’s redesign and Cirno just looks … off, for some reason. Lastly, aren’t Yukari’s eyes violet instead of amber? I’m not sure.

Good little indie game. I hope there will be more to explore in future.

There are things you could easily miss, if you don’t pay attention, can you find all secrets? :)

I was 1 of many testers, so that is reason why I got it free.

A short and sweet story, only takes about an hour to get through. If you like walking simulators you should check it out.

Nice little game with wall jumping, similar to Super Meat Boy or Dustforce. Good acrobatic elements, wish it was a little longer tho.

It’s a fun game. It has a nice soundtrack and I like the overall style/feel of it. Other than it being a little shorter than i’m comfortable, id say the game is worth your money.

Demonic Blade

Demonic Blade

I thought it will be a regular story, but it was so much better than expected. The gameplay is negligible -from what i’ve seen, the decisions doesn’t affect the ending in this one-, and it limits to tell the story and branch just some dialogue by the choices you make. Not a revolutionary storytelling, but the characters were memorable for the duration of the game, and for the price, it was a good shot for me.

Recommended for anyone who is curious about it, and who wants a small and self-contained story. Not a game changer, but a good one, at least for any sensible soul.

You know that first feeling you get when playing Silent Hill, that you just want to turn the game off because you are scared??

I get that feeling!! This is one of the most terrific games I ever played!

I can’t recommend this game. It looks great and it has potential but it’s way too short. It also has some bugs one of which caused me to restart. It gave me a few jump scares but that was pretty much it. If this was free or around $1-$3 maybe it would be worth it but for the current price I would pass. Henosis™

Henosis™

Introduction

While 2D platformer and puzzle games are not something I play often, Henosis managed to catch my eye because of its visuals. And even though this game is not something I would remember for a long time, it still delivers a decent amount of entertainment.

Story

You play as a cute, small, blue blob who collects water tokens so it could restore the vitality of its homeworld. And that is it, nothing more, nothing less. To be precise, the game does not have any form of storytelling, and this might be the only information about the story you can get. However, this game does not need any, and I did not miss it.

What’s a blob gotta do to get some service around here?

If you want to see Henosis in action, watch my video. It’s a blob’s life and your goal is to find water to survive. Jumping from platform to platform is satisfying and a bit surreal, and timing your jumps and movement is both joyful and rage-inducing. To assist you, you’ve got a time slowing effect that is required in some parts and makes others easier. Henosis isn’t difficult, per se, except when it is.

AWAY: The Survival Series

AWAY: The Survival Series

I played through the whole story mode, and lemme tell ya it was something. It started off fairly decent, I liked the first few minutes of the game. Then you get to this part with a horde of “black widow spiders” that attack your little squirrel family and you have to fend them off and escort your mom as she just keeps strolling leisurely towards your next destination. This part was a little irritating but you could look past it. Then the bird shows up. A vulture takes your mother and sister and you spend the rest of the game chasing after it.

UPDATE: Happy to say the latest patch has fixed the performance issues. I am now able to play on Ultra high and the FPS is locked at 62FPS. There is the very odd dip to 60FPS that is noticeable (but that could be the camera).

Now I can play it, I LOVE the ambience, and feel it now showcases what the devs were trying to achieve.

I personally love how Alan (as I have named him) is controlled, and the way he gliders though the air seems very realistic (based on not much experience of sugar gliders and their gliding) and very relaxing.

Crazy Race

Crazy Race

This game is one of the best things to happen to me. Don’t buy this game if you are just looking for a quick fun time this game will drain you for all you have you must escape while you can. This game will take over your life I have already lost my home, wife and dog. It was all worth it in the end though because I have found a new wife and that wife is crazy race.

This game I would have to say I do not recommend. I was on the fence for this decision. I like the game visually and the concept for sure. I found the map very very very small. Plus when you are trying to beat the time, which you can every time!; it blinks red all the time. This game needs massive improvements.

Pretty good game for the price. And like it says, the game has a lot of puzzles which can get a bit frustrating at times. But, once you know what to do it’s not bad. And the game gives you enough time to try and figure it out. Overall, I’d recommend it if you’re a fan of horror and puzzle games.

It not a bad game but just a bit rough. I enjoyed the puzzles till I got stuck on one. It wasn’t a very hard one I’m just an idiot but it did make the rest of the play through a little less enjoyable. The main issue I have with this game is the audio. The sound is already maxed in the game and you still have to turn it up in order to hear anything. Then when a scare happens your ears get blown out because of how loud that part is. Overall for the price and the content I think it’s worth trying out. If you want to see some game play you can check out my play through above.
