Compost
A fun little game that is a mix of tower defense and critter simulation.
There are many various critters in the game with each type having their own behavior and priorities,
some being peaceful, some preying on other types of critters, some plants having different ways to spread, some critters eating specific plants and so on, which makes for a surprising amount of artificial intelligence in the game.
You don’t control anything directly but instead are given power to generate a breeze that gently pushes stuff around.

This is a great game! A retro style with a current social feel! Some things I like about it:
1. It feel like playing one of my arcade machines
2. Who doesnt want their garden to thrive?
3. The game is explained just enough that makes you think about what you need to do in order for your garden to stay healthy
4. While there are not tons of critters/plants/baddies to understand its great fun learning how they all interact and what they do
I really do enjoy playing this game and look forward to the next round of mouse clicking madness! (thank goodness for pause!)

Cat Simulator : Animals on Farm
It’s a cute game and my kids have enjoyed playing. They love cats and this provides a fun diversion. Would love to be able to a few save slots, my daughter would prefer not to share her cat family with her brother. :)

I’d recommend this if you have young kids. Its not a particularly difficult or violent game. Older, more advanced gamers might find this a bit childish. But its a nice break from the shooting/blowing up stuff games.

The Garden Path
Far from your old life, you find yourself a new wilderness - a life once lived in these dense woods, waiting to be rediscovered.
The Garden Path explores the quiet moments of a life well lived, where your garden will grow to reflect both the passing of time and your own design. Time here runs in concert with the real world, and the passing of seasons heralds new encounters and a new story to weave.
Above all, The Garden Path is a life sim that celebrates the tranquil and the pensive, a tucked-away place to shape and grow as you like.
Designed to be played as and when you wish, The Garden Path features a wealth of stories, activities and distractions to be experienced at your own pace. Don’t have time to watch your flowers grow? Come back tomorrow: time in the garden passes alongside the real world, and you’ll find plants you nurtured one day may bloom the next.
You won’t be alone in your new home. Charming inhabitants will come and go, from Bunk, the tea-brewing macaque to Larto, a Greenlandic Musk Ox with a penchant for song-fish. You may even find some visitors willing to make their home alongside your own!
The garden is calm and still. A tender world of familiar sights and sounds, melody, and friendly faces. A space to call your own, to curate, and to reflect.
With a unique hand-drawn aesthetic, The Garden Path’s stunning visual design embraces you from the start, inviting you in and welcoming you to stay. Combined with unique soundtracks for both day and night, it won’t be long before you’re lost in the flow.
Features:
-
A humble gardening life-sim with real-time progress even when you’re away.
-
Rich illustrated visuals and original soundtracks that draw you in.
-
A charming cast of characters, all with their own stories to tell.
-
A far away corner to call your own - somewhere to pause and stay awhile.
The Sapling
Very reminisce of Spore, but focus on natural selection and ecology which Spore seriously lacked. I completed all the current scenarios. So a 4 out 5 for me, and must buy for anyone who want an ecological game.
In a world filled with in-your-face tutorial, Sapling tutorial teach to basic and then allow the player learn the rest thru trying out all the functions and hover-over information. A serious plus.
The scenarios are both pleasing and challenging puzzles, and as I said before the scenarios teach the player how to use the game thru experimentation over in-your-face hand-holding flood of pop-up tutorials that plague the gaming world. Even once you completed all scenarios, the sandbox is actually challenging and very satisfying despite the fact everything is unlocked. With mutation and time-skip for sand-box, it allow you is more accurate natural selection.

I really love this game, I also love creating creatures to play as, or to just simply observe them evolving! Its fun to see how they would do in the wild trough a simulation. Though, this game is small and all, I’d want to be able to use a brush tool to change moisture and temperature of places, with it automatically changing the color and creating puddles or mud, maybe even a coloring tool to give the ground some color! *With this there should be an option to make the lakes not be automatically created. But also, we should be able to create our own lakes, so we can make a swamp-like environment for our creations to survive in! But really, overall I’d rate this game an 8.5/10 , one of the problems I have is lag, even with a good pc and low settings, probably due to many things moving at once all the time and the crashing. Another issue is the time cap I encountered, everything froze and I could only get past it trough a time skip, which took a whole 7 minutes to be done. But I enjoy this game alot, despite the issues. Hope you guys can develop this game to be one of the best simulation games ever!

FISHERY
This could be a very lovely game, I cant recommend it at this point, but I have high hopes this could be getting somewhere.
What I like:
The style is lovely! The fish and plants are stylized to a point to make it look artsy, but you still recognize every species, it is realy beautifully made.
The animations are very cute, the fish chase each other, nibble on plants and decorations, I love it. :)
I like that the fish are breeding and the babys are realy cute.
What I dont like:
I played with one tank for 63 ingame days. In that time I had 3 adult platys and a ton of babys.

I’ve been keeping fish for a long time and it has been my dream to find an, detailed and good fish keeping game. Over the years all the fish keeping games I found were either very old or abandoned. But fishery might finally be the game. It has many things already added so it’s a perfect early access game. It does lack a lot of stuff. But it is still good enough to provide you fun until new updates roll out. Fishery already provides the things you would want in an aquarium game. It already has 18 fish species that are for now mostly freshwater and it has 17 plant species that come in different sizes and variants. There are lots of decoration items that help you create the aquarium you always wanted. There are around 10 substrates. I think they can add more into substrates. Such as different substrates being beneficial for different situations. Or they can just add more substrates or even substrate mixing. One of my favorite features of fishery is the plumbing system. Not only it is unique but the idea of being able to hide all the filtration and heaters an all that stuff is amazing. And lastly something no other game has (At least from what I’ve played.) breeding. So far there is a single gamemode. Sandbox. But a career mode is coming. I would say if you so far like this game consider a few things: First it’s early access so there is a possibility you might not find the content you need. Second the game is slightly more detailed for some people. Third if you love saltwater more there aren’t many fish or plant variants yet.

Fish Simulator: Aquarium Manager
This game is still new and a little buggy, BUT let me tell you, it’s still absolutely worth it! If you have any problems hop on the Discord, the dev was able to help me out immediately with the one problem I had.
The gameplay itself is fun and addicting! As a lover of simulated life games and anything with genetic based breeding mechanics, this is a game that I see myself playing for hours on end for weeks to come, and I’m really excited to see what’s to come!
– Real player with 68.8 hrs in game
This game is really basic, but to be honest its hard to find a fun game that has any kind of breeding in it. I finished unlocking all parts of the map in a day, completing all of the steam achievements gave it another day worth of content.
To be perfectly honest the game is to easy. Its easy to make money, you sell dying fish for big bucks. There is no limit on how many fish you can have in a tank except perhaps the limit of if your computer can keep up, and killing these fish requires a lot of effort even with me turning the temperature up, turning the oxygen down and not even feeding them they somehow lived from egg to adulthood. Different difficulty levels would make the game more challenging, if even basic genetics could be added it would be a dream.

Behind Glass: Aquarium Simulator
I needed to check this out and even join Steam to do so! Impressive graphics, complex behaviour modelling of fish. This is early access – there are not hundreds of items and creatures yet, but they will come if the developers fulfil their announcements.
Would be great to have social features to show off your tanks.
In summary: this appears to be the most impressive aquascaping tool to date.
