Perfect Gold
Wow wow wow…. wow…!
I have to start by saying that this game is absolutely the best and most beautifully crafted visual novel i have ever played or seen. Everything in this game is so perfect that it’s unreal.
Story
I loved the story from start to finish. It was amazing & I wish it never ended. I could have followed story of the main characters for hundreds of hours…
It was really nicely put together as it told story from past & present time.

Purrgatory
Purrgatory is a visual novel. It’s not just that, but also a fun mix of independent, LGBTQ+ culture that comes together to make an adult-themed, immaturely-mature and charming (dare I say) masterpiece of a game. Purrgatory defies what is conventially a visual novel and forms a universe that makes you fall in love with the characters, feel addicted to the personalities, and most of all, have a hearty chuckle. The lowercase, almost online-chat-esque style each character speaks in is incredibly unique to their personality and is incredibly charming! The puns, the cats, the incredibly-done art (yes, I do mean that), and the simplistically-complex character designs are compelling and loveable. There are even easter eggs! The detail put in is genuinely really excellent. And the rooms are surprisingly easy to navigate, as most of them tend to loop around. The multiple endings are also very rewarding but also leave you satisfied. (I honestly cried when it was over, I didn’t want it to end).

This was a very cute game and sat through it in one sitting while my partners watched me here and there. I loooved the dialog as they felt more typical of actual responses you’d get from your IRL friends. You know the ones who just dunk on you in a tease or just meme it up whenever they can.
Every character has their charms as one would expect in a visual novel but I dunno. They felt a bit more real in personality rather than ham it up to the player like a robot. The music? Very nice, very relaxing background tunes to wander about Purrgatory. Yes, With two R’s~

Heart of the Woods
Heya! Zombie Cecelia here!
This is gonna be my first proper-ish game review on Steam so expect a not so much a review than me waffling review
So I bought this game on release (15.02.2019) and played a bit of it before work and stuff happened so was too busy then kinda forgot about it for over a year and only just got back into it about a week ago… Oops!
I guess because I can’t physically go outside due to sickness and the lock-down, meaning my favourite bookstore is closed, gave me the incentive to pick up Visual Novels (VNs) again (I usually prefer reading from a physical book rather than online buut let’s not delve into the reasons for it lol plus VNs have their own magical quality so it wouldn’t be fair to compare the two… but I digress because this is meant to be a review)

(This article was written as a blog post )
Heart of the Woods looks like a nice interesting love story about 2 girls, one human, one ghost. It’s homo, so it’s just what I needed to escape from the real world. Although it appears to involve love across the living and the dead, which is a concept that’s been done to literal death. But hey, the game is well-received, it’s on sale, the artstyle is new to me, and most importantly, it doesn’t appear to be too long. So I guessed it’s going to be a nice fit for the spare time I currently have.

Highway Blossoms
Highway Blossoms isn’t really what I would define a “game” in any sense. There aren’t really any game elements, or any way to make choices or impact the story, like there is in some branching visual novels. I still like it, but just a heads up for those expecting choices, you are in for a linear experience with this one, like a book with music, movement, and pictures. I fully recommend it to those that enjoy a linear, non-interactive, character focused story, with cute and likeable characters.
Because of this most of this review is going to be commenting on the story, characters, and themes, and I am going to put most of it under spoilers.

I felt this VN deserved a more detailed review, just because of how frustrating it was at times playing it, being drawn in and enjoying many parts of it, yet being put off by others.
While I’m putting it as not recommended, this review is more to indicate what might put people off, rather than discouraging others from trying it, because this VN was put together with effort, and definitely worth a look if it touches on topics that you’re interested in.

Aisling and the Tavern of Elves
It’s short, but sweet and well structured. The characters have great banter between them which is really nice. it actually feels like authentic dialogue. Choices feel like they make sense when given too. Being so short, not sure it’s worth full price, but if you see it on sale then definitely worth it.

Cute and fun short story based on a cute but strong human and a very cute elf, also
a crazy witch and a devious Baroness.
Nice art in this as well, which is often the case from this developer.
Worth a read for Yuri loves and romance lovers.

Bahamian Rhapsody
Cute and fun story…
Got the 2 Best endings and they are both nice ways to end on.
Have replayed a few times now,, and realised Kay is the girl who broke up with Rebecca from Colorado Cocoa Club, Coming back to this one made me realise,
Great art in both VN’s too.
To people who like Yuri or Romance I do recommend it.

Why in this day and age when Apple explicitly told you no more 32bit on macOS do you still make this 32bit? It doesn’t run on macOS. This is just lazy. Update your engine! Aren’t you guys in this business to sell games and make money? You won’t do it with these half-hearted attempts especially limiting what platforms your titles run on. Do better and excel because this is mediocre at best and capitalism will see you fail with these lazy attempts, I’ll be glad when you do, get rid of another passionless studio and hopefully your lives disappear into obscurity.

Blind Men
I would rate this game as a cute and short adventure that’s worth the price. Even with the occasional error, I’ve honestly paid more for that same amount of quality. My play time is a little high because I was playing this at the same time as another game with a lot of wait time.
Hunter was my first, but Sergei ended up as my favorite. I feel like a lot of these types games try and force the romance, but the fact that you could ignore it entirely was actually made the game feel more natural to me. I would love to see these characters expanded on later. Possibly even just in print form.

A Cute And Funny VN For A Great Price!
I’m a big fan of dating sims and I was super happy to find this cute little BxB game! The art for all the characters was very nice, both the love interests were very handsome! The art for the backgrounds and cgs were also very nice, as was the music. I played and got all of the achievements, was very happy with the stories! I did enjoy the Sergei routes much more than Hunters, but that’s personal preference! If I were to put one critique it would be that there were a few spelling and grammar errors I noticed, but other than that I would say that this game is well worth the price tag, especially if it’s on sale! I’m excited to see more from these devs in the future!

Dead Man’s Rest
A very good game, even in early access (it’s almost complete at this point, anyway).
I follow Argent Games ever since Requiescence, even if I tend to purchase their titles elsewhere due to Steam censorship, which isn’t relevant here since the game is not explicit in content.
It has to be my favorite of their games, alongside Requiescence itself.
The storylines are interesting, and with a very short common route (that has more than one path to access the various routes), it makes replaying each route a whole new experience, especially since what is true in one route won’t be in another, aside from core traits and background elements about the characters.

Dead Man’s Rest
Developer: Gallium Games
Publisher: Argent Games
Pros:
1. The Wild West, a place where a balance of lawlessness and peacekeeping is a mainstay. Gunslinging, alcoholism, and tensions between Americans and Natives run in the back. What happens if we add in a little love to that? A more taboo love such as homosexuality in a time where heterosexuality was the overwhelming factor? You get Dead Man’s Rest, a finely packed visual novel with short routes varying from 5 love interests, each being variably different from each other but keep the characters consistency almost each time. It does a great deal in being faithful to old western culture that involves your standard by the book sheriff, trifles with Native Americans, and some small scenes of gunfighting, however it does an excellent job at adding in the romance aspect. It feels down to earth and realistic, with morals that reflected the time back then whether it be about sexuality or your culture, and how people react.
