A Museum of Self & Space

A Museum of Self & Space

A Museum of Self and Space should be a reminder of not only the beauty we can bring into the world, but how cruel that beauty can be.

A museum about our inner demons and how they’re reflected in the world around us. A Museum of Self & Space is a first person narrative game where you will explore a surreal museum of about a failed architect. It is about life, love, success, and the lack of all three. Explore a house that won’t stop changing, a collapsing apartment, and avoid eye contact in a locker room.

In A Museum of Self & Space you will interact with narrative vignettes each with their own novel mechanic, while learning about the life of Jules, the fictitious creator of A Museum of Self & Space.

I loved this game so much! I’m fairly new to platformers, so I was expecting to struggle a LOT, but I had so much fun, even when I was struggling! The story made me cry many times, and I think it’s a perfect mix of storytelling and play, and has great parallels to real life situations that people may be struggling with.

Long story short, this game is beautifully written, and is so much fun to play. Definitely give it a go if you can!

This is good. This is VERY good. For a price as low as this, I was expecting a game that could be finished in half an hour and not give the slightest toss about plot resolution or characterisation.

But no; The Gardener and the Wild Vines is a fantastic game. Took me about six hours to complete and it’s bloody beautiful. Even with the retro-style 3D and pixel art, it’s still a unique game with a cool unique idea that it does very well, it’s very creative, and the characters are well done. Absolutely worth the play.

Secret Little Haven

Around March 2019, A close friend of mine played this game. She almost immediately began to notice similarities between myself, and the main character, Alex. I would constantly go on rambles about how cool i thought magical girls were, and how nice it would to be one, along with little snippets about what I would do instead because I thought I was a guy. I’ll never forget the day she decided to pry about my gender, and while I tried to hide, I knew my answer was a resounding “I’m a girl, through and through.”

This game is good. If you like story-driven games, well-written characters, spend a lot of time in messaging clients or have ever felt lost in life, this game will leave you feeling satisfied.

Now that I’ve summed up my thoughts, let me get into the details.

This game is, as the description helpfully points out, a game about a young trans-girl discovering the nuances of her identity during her time spent online in the middle of the year 1999. It’s essentially a desktop simulator, but the simulation itself is relatively simplistic. Most of what you have access to is story-related, so if you’re looking for hours and hours of extra content, that’s not what you’re getting. The story is mainly delivered to you through a series of conversations you’ll have (via the game’s messaging client) with the various friends your character has made along the way.

Growing Up

Growing Up

Interesting spin on the “visual novel” genre that is lovingly crafted, but has its issues and is not quite as expansive as the store page makes it out to be. Still, considering the price, it is worth it, and given the casual nature and the topic, also suitable for people just interested in trying out this kind of games, or for those who would be turned off by weeb stuff.

Rating: 7/10

As is obvious, the game revolves around growing up and going through all of the early stages of life, and it does a remarkably good job at it too, at times at least. The characters, although in some regards laden with cliches, are fairly well written and I am not ashamed to admit, objectively looking at how I behaved and what I thought as a teenager especially, and what I remember of my friends, this is pretty spot on, lol. Unfortunately, the earlier stages of the game are quite rushed, and they are more of a short tutorial than anything, which is a bit of a wasted oportunity - the game really starts when you reach teen years.

UPDATED REVIEW @ 22 Hrs:

Growing Up is a life simulation that fairly-accurately simulates the experience of growing up in a relatively affluent family in a reasonably well-to-do area of the United States in the mid-to-late 1990s.

I’m a fan of this game for a lot of reasons. The writing is pretty good, and the resource management gameplay is challenging enough to be fun while never feeling unfair or too difficult. The music ranges from unobtrusive to fantastic, and the interface is intuitive; simple without being too stupid (more on this below). If you’re a fan of resource management games, or if you like visual novels and don’t mind some casual gameplay mixed in, this is one to pick up even at full price.

You play as Tobias, who begins the story in present time, living a below-average life on his own. That is, if all goes according to plan.

No One Can Ever Know

No One Can Ever Know

No One Can Ever Know is quite possibly one of the best examples one can point to when making an argument for the merits of video games as an interactive medium. This is not a “fun” game in the traditional sense and neither does that seem to be the intention. No One Can Ever Know is a difficult, sometimes frustrating experience because it wants the player to know what its like to be in the creator’s shoes and by extension what it’s like to suffer from gender dysphoria. This is something only games can do, because while films and text can adequately convey emotions and ideas, they can’t quite put someone in the shoes of another individual in quite the same way a game can and I think for that reason, No One Can Ever Know is a huge success despite being a humble little title.

Open your eyes and close them and open them again….How many are looking through your eye(s)….one….more than one then there is only a number and the number of them is ONE number…. So May It Be: A Witch Dating Simulator

I love this game it is very cute! The art is nice, the music is relaxing and I really like the girls. Lucifer is adorable.

There are a few typos and grammar mistakes here and there but not enough to take away from my enjoyment of the game.

I also liked that it is a short game with an engaging story.

Great Game!

SpitKiss looks great sounds great, and like all of the best games has hidden depth to the game play that is required you learn to 100% the game plus levels! It’s totally worth a buy!!

The only down side is the controls with the mouse can take a bit of getting used to. Oh yeah and don’t try googling Spit Kiss like I did. Fortunately no one was around. They have a bit of an SEO problem :P

Beating Spitkiss requires precision and quick reaction, just like spitting on people in real life. It’s short, moderately difficult and fun. The story is a pure cuteness overload. Can’t recommend enough to those who enjoy killing a couple of hours with adorable brainteasers.

Dangerous! TOO SWEET!!

Dangerous! TOO SWEET!!

It’s kinda cool I liked a lot the way it was a simple “love story”.

You mostly build up your relationships with the twins but it’s worth it!

If you’re looking for a love story with a little plot between high schoolers and with lgbtq content, you’re never gonna waste your time on this game!!

Plus the visual and illustrations are really great.
