On The Earth Shift :)
“On the Earth Shift :)" is a VR resource management game / romantic experience about doing your silly alien job while your silly alien fish friend watches.
Your silly alien job is, as the title would imply, taking care of the Earth! It is your job to ensure that all aspects of Earth life flourish in perfect harmony, including global temperature, the horniess of the population, and the desire to dominate / submit to one another.
However, alien management from Glorf-31 have their own ideas on how Earth should be managed, such as Snarglarff Sneet, obsessed with extracting value from Earth, Elgore Smankoff, who wishes to perform sick experiments on the planet, and Mire Oodle, who just wants a friend, along with many others. It is your job to accept or deny their requests, as the world’s fate hangs in the balance,

Planet Stronghold
A choice-laden narrative and attractive soundtrack are minor positives for a game let down by an immature story, horrible dialogue, and boring, badly implemented / balanced combat. Avoid unless frustration is your preferred form of masochism.
First the choices. There are a lot of choices, and they do branch convincingly: if you wanted to romance a certain character and screw it up, there’s no way to charm yourself back into their good graces. Find a save, and re-load. The choices aren’t just about romancing: every single member of your party has dialogues and side missions that will unlock if you talk to them enough and make the right dialog choices. Even faction alliances are contained within mutually exclusive dialog choices. Full marks for a branching narrative.

I had long wanted to play this game, as well as Winter Wolves' Loren The Amazon Princess, mostly because I was curious as to how well an RPG made in a visual novel engine would work. Now that I’ve finished this game once, I can say that its value lies mostly in being a curiosity, an example of what is possible in Ren’Py.
Unfortunately, whether I look at it as a visual novel with RPG combat or as an RPG with visual novel storytelling, as a game Planet Stronghold falls short.
The RPG part alternates between dull and irritating. The battles themselves fall into predictable patterns. I’ve seen the threat mechanic before in other indie RPGs, so it wasn’t particularly impressive to me.

ZONERS
Falling somewhere between air hockey, soccer, fighting games and a mad alien party…
In a parallel universe, in the distant future, in a Milky Way both familiar and not, the king of the galaxy, King Klianc IX, has let it be known that the next ZONERS Galactic Cup is approaching fast.
So now, the greatest gather once again to compete for the ultimate prize: A single wish of their choosing, to be granted by the cosmic King himself! With the fate of anything & everything up for grabs, it’s well and truly…TIME TO GET INTO THE ZONE!
WHAT IS ZONERS?
ZONERS is a fast paced, 1-on-1, Competitive Sports Action game, that aims to please casual and hardcore players alike!
Strike the ball with your melee, projectile, super and hyper moves, or dash to close the distance and activate a parry for a last second save and score in your opponent’s goal. Keep scoring quick enough and you’ll get rewarded with extra points and maybe even a satisfying Zone Break. But don’t let your guard down or give up, as the double scoring extra time, a shield tearing Hyper move or even a catastrophic own goal could flip the tables at the last second!
CHARACTERS LIKE NO OTHER
Featuring an eccentric cast of unusual characters to play as. From Urnest the old man trapped in yo-yoing 10 year old form as a ghost and the last human left, to a mad pinball collecting crab called Crabhammers, complete with a flying pinball bumper vehicle, to the mischievous scientist fairy Ringressa, whose research on portals continues to hide her mysterious lower half, to the genderless, sentient goo known as Gluup, that just really wants to give you a hug…explosively!
NOT QUITE THE GALAXY YOU KNOW…
It might be the Milky Way galaxy, but it certainly isn’t the one you know. A rich world of silliness lies before you, with little details to discover. Stages take place in all manner of weird and wonderful locations, and a central menu hub to navigate in the ZONERS HQ means ZONERS isn’t just about the tight, chaotic gameplay.
SIMPLE BUT DEEP
Every character shares the same simple inputs, but has access to wildly different stats, spins and abilities. Focus and timing can mean the difference between a score topping Zone Break or a heart-breaking own goal! It might look like tennis, yet with every character having access to ranged moves in their arsenal, there’s always an opportunity to keep on the pressure. How do you break your opponents line when every character is over powered?
ACCESSIBILITY & CUSTOMISATION
A wealth of profile based accessibility options that can be accessed in any mode and will develop even further alongside community feedback makes sure that players of not only different skill levels, but physical capability can easily jump in and have their fun with as little hassle as possible!
Further more, with the ability to create and save your own custom rulesets, there’s almost endless fun to be had. From basic mode settings like time or score rule sets and round numbers or lengths, to more wacky changes like directional based ball gravity and even multi ball, you’re sure to find something to tickle your fancy!
#### ZONERS is mostly the work of one person, Paris Stalker, featuring fantastic original new music from a range of specially handpicked artists such as CRYSTALBOY, Funk Fiction, RoBKTA, Shadow Mantra Steve, ViRiX Dreamcore & Vector U and quality SFX from Max Newton
Planet Stronghold: Colonial Defense
First of all this game is a pretty unique mix, it has some flaws yes, but its strengths definitely outweighs them.
The card game, while unusual for such a game is actually really good. Compared to the standart rpg fights in similar games where you have 3 or 4 different spells or attacks and you just have to see which type of elemental damage does the most harm and spam that and throw in a heal or stun from time to time, the card battles feel more challenging. On the highest difficulty level you actually have to think about which cards suit in which situation. Also it kinda suits the theme. While in fantasy settings I prefer the party of heroes wandering around fighting its battles itself, here it feels more like you are the base commander managing troops and resources of your colony and thinking strategically.

One of the worst Winter Wolves' games out of the ones I have played. It has very few redeeming qualities and while I usually like WW games despite their flaws, I had a hard time enjoying this one.
Characters
Unfortunately, the characters were very weak in this game. WW can create some interesting characters and I know this, but in this case, I think they missed the opportunity to do so. The good news is that there are many characters you can choose to romance (with the free DLC). The bad news is that the characters felt shallow and unrealistic. I know you don’t play these games for their realism, but one would expect them to at least have some common sense. Instead it seemed like they were doing the most irrational things. For example at some point
! the rebel guy implied that he has assassinated people. Why would he admit that in front of people who are military officers? It makes no sense.

Tender: Creature Comforts
This game is an interactive visual novel. You get to explore different story lines of characters while also finding hidden comedic moments within the dialogue. The art is beautiful and the dialogue is witty, convivial, and portrays an authentic view of online dating. Though there are not many characters that you can reach “an end” with, exploring the dialogue of each character is entertaining and enjoyable nevertheless.

Curse this game for being so delightfully written. After being totally fed up with Tinder, suddenly I miss connected with people on there (???). And I was just getting used to being a quarantine hermit and everything…
EDIT: Not really a fan of the bad ending that abruptly cuts things off. Was really enjoying some of the in-progress conversations, and it’s a little irritating to not get to finish them. To get back there, I’ll have to replay everything… Weird choice. I still really like the game, but… jeez.

Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor
REVIEW REWRITTEN: originally had 3 hours, updated for 25 hours.
–
i’d give this game a neutral rating if i could.
diaries of a spaceport janitor is a simulation of being poor, of trying to find the gold in garbage. it’s something i play when i’m already in the middle of disassociating and i need an excuse to say i did something instead of saying “when i felt unreal and like the world was leaking in front of me again, i did nothing”. it shows the meaningless task of going around a place bustling with prosperity with you in the middle, cursed not only with a skull at your back but also the fact that you’re poor, alone, constantly working. i can understand what they were going for with this, having grindy gameplay, everything feeling the same every time you play it. and i think it’s a wonderful wake-up call.

Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor is hard to talk about, but after playing it, I need to talk about it. I love this game but I can see why so many don’t. This game is not a fun experience and is not interested in being one. It is a lot of other things, to varying degrees of success, but not being fun makes it a hard sell.
The Good:
I love the atmosphere of this game. The spaceport feels like a large machine, bustling with activity, and that you are a very small and unimportant cog in all of it. The majority of people in this world treat you with either disgust or pay you no attention at all. Some will even harass you, take your money or insult you. Ten minutes into the game, you find yourself cursed by a skull of misfortune as a punishment for trying to escape from it all. Once in the main game, you are given little direction on how to play apart from loading screen tips, your immediate needs, and a sparsely populated quest log. You don’t know what to do or how to escape. You are too small for the world to care about you. It never even noticed as you languished, suffocated under the crushing weight of its systems. No game has ever made me feel so alone and forgotten.
