WHAT THE GOLF?

WHAT THE GOLF?

WHAT THE GOLF is a “golf” game for those of us who hate golf. Really.

You don’t need to know a single thing about golf to enjoy this. It might even make you a bit sad if you love the real sport, since the game makes an absolute mockery of golf in so, so many ways that its almost criminal.

When you start the game, it looks deceptively like the real thing. You quickly realize that this is no ordinary golf… Everything you knew about the sport is thrown out of the window fast, as you progress through the levels. You would think that golf here was about putting a ball in a hole. You would be wrong.

It is official. Golf is boring! so a secret underground testing lab has been set up to make golf more interesting. Moving around the testing facility, you test different holes ranging from the bizarre to the ridiculous, all in the name of making golf fun.

The game straight up just doesn’t work. You can’t start the game without completing all 3 scenarios, however the 3rd scenario is broken so your unable to access the editor and other players maps.

After contacting the dev’s through discord they said they would quickly fix the bug… but from previous experiences with other games I highly doubt they will fix it anytime soon…

After bypassing the first bug, the workshop section for other players maps wouldn’t load making it impossible to play other peoples maps (without having to download them and install them into your own editor).

The Chatters Show Free Version is not a game, it’s a software application that’s erroneously been uploaded to Steam as a game. It’s designed as a free/demo that allows Twitch streamers to make quizzes or something.

Regardless, not a game, so I cannot recommend this to gamers.

Super Marxist Twins

Super Marxist Twins

Ever wonder what it would look like if a Soviet state sponsored game developer designed a game to compete with classic side-scrollers while subverting western youth? No? Well we did. Introducing Super Marxist Twins. The evil Tsar Boarov, and his army of capitalist pigs, have stolen The Nation’s resources and left The People with nothing. Now it’s up to brothers Mikhail and Ludmil to collect the stolen resources and defeat Tsar Boarov once and for all. In communist paradise, money does not exist, so surrender your funds and buy Super Marxist Twins! Purchase the game for yourself! Purchase the game for your friends! Purchase the game for The Greater Good.

Features:

  • Classic side scroller platforming and action.

  • Collect resources to power-up the twins! Steel rivets will power-up Mikhail and his hammer-attack, while collecting wheat grains will power-up Ludmil and his mighty sickle-attack

  • Battle an army of assorted enemies ranging from collaborator rats to heavily armed capitalist pigs.

  • Toil away in the Industrial Forge level editor and then share the fruits of your labor with comrades across the internet.

Death Game+

Death Game+

Death Game+ has a simplistic artstyle that’s incredibly easy to pickup and play around in.

However, the game provides very little challenge, dying is incredibly easy and the campaign is relatively short and beat very quickly. The character acceleration is also insane and makes yourself hard to control so exploring a level is actually more difficult than dying in one.

if you’ve got money to burn and want do play something silly this is definetly the game for you.

Animal Super Squad

Animal Super Squad

This one saddens me.

Animal Super Squad is not a bad game. For the kids, or for those moments when you just want to have a quick laugh trying community made levels, the game does a good job (not better than other stupid physics-based titles).

The graphics are serviceable, sounds design is ok overall although the music quickly gets annoying. Controls are…..functional (played using an Xbox One controller).

The main problem with the game is with those rng-random-physics-expected-yet-rage-inducing moments when you do your best 50 times to pass a stupidly designed section of an average campaign level, to then realize you can no longer respawn cause the game glitches once again.

Real player with 15.2 hrs in game

It may look childish at first (and it really is), but once you hop into the hilariousness, you’re going to enjoy the stupidity at least a bit, I can guarantee that.

I love how the game is so well made to its finest details. Graphics are so pleasing to look at and I didn’t encounter a single issue with the looks in general. It’s beautiful, cute cartoon stuff.

The gameplay is great! I always loved games where you have many objects that do their very unique things. Animal Super Squad has a LOAD of these. Vehicles are nice, very inspired by Happy Wheels, but that’s not something I consider as very bad. They are fun to play with and that’s the important thing.

Hardwork Simulator

Hardwork Simulator

That didn’t work for me. I got caught and got fired for it. They put a younger, prettier assistant in my place. But I doubt she types as fast as I do. They were the ones who lost

On the one hand, I really want to give the game a thumbs up for a creative and somewhat neat idea for a really cheap price.

On the other hand, though, I really must give it a thumbs down for not offering much at all, even at this price level plus thirty percent off; because in the end, cheap does just not justify bland.

I do enjoy any just semi-rewarding grinding game for a while, but looking at the short time invested here, I had rather counted cars drive by my window - even if the game had been for free. Where the game mechanics in any way challenging or rewarding, it would be a different story. However, it is random key bashing in it’s dullest form.

Ultimate Arena

Ultimate Arena

This game is more fun than it has any right to be.

The best words to describe Ultimate Arena as would be “Simplistic Battle Royale Simulator”. This is actually very-reminiscent of those Hunger Games simulators online, but I feel that this game has more variety, is more customizable and actually has the slightest visuals, even if it’s just a top-down view of a small map with simplistic stick figures running around. Essentially, you can set up battle royals between as many people as you like, set up a few additional rules if you want and drop everyone in, waiting to see who the victor will be while occasionally having a bit of input as to where to place mines or where to drop care packages.

Real player with 175.8 hrs in game

Ok, this is a simulator. It’s pretty funny at times. You have a lot of freedom to add stuff, from characters to ways to fight and die. There’s plenty stuff at the workshop to add to the game. Now, this is not much a “game”. Yup, it is a simulator. Other than adding some mines and bring some events upon the field, you’re just watching the fight developing.

So, the fun is to have a lot of fighters, have a bunch of funny lines and events and watch your favorite people or the ones you dislike to fight till the end. Even when simple, can be entertaining for a while.

A great game with a great community. If you get bored of the main game, you can go into both mapping and modding. Both can be just as enjoyable as normal gameplay, and people on the official Discord will help if you have any problems. Absolutely recommended.

Dance Collider

Dance Collider

Game provided via the Steam Curator program.

Dance Collider is a VR rhythm game.

There are a couple of games of this genre already so how does Dance Collider stand among them? I believe it’s one of the best. I’m having a lot of fun while playing it, unlike other rhythm games moves here actually make sense which makes it even more enjoyable. While in Beat Saber you are forced to make random erratic movements trying to hit the boxes(let’s face it people who make custom songs there have no idea what they are doing), here in Dance Collider your movements are much like dancing. You are punching nodes by the rhythm of a song/tune. The visuals are wonderful, not too much on the eye and not too little. Despite me not being fan of dubstep and modern electronic music I do think the sound effects and the music included are excellent to get your groove on. What makes this even better is that you choose characters which act as your opponent. Each of them has unique style and has different tunes. Movement is fluid with no tracking issues.

TL;DR: For an already small selection of titles Dance Collider is a must have title for any rhythm game enthusiasts that want to get into a cyberpunk themed dance battle.

The review:

If you want to find out what “you’re yoghurt” is continue reading.

The Street Fighter of dance battles set in a variety of distinctive arenas that give off a strong cyberpunk vibe. Each character has a unique musical style and special move to keep you moving. The idea of a dancing off vs a character that taunts you occassionally gives you a better sense of purpose rather than just dancing alone in a game racking up points.
