Marble Run

Marble Run

With over three years on Steam, 1,250+ games, and well over 100 reviews, there is no doubt in my mind that I have NEVER worked so hard to like a Steam game as I have with Marble Run. Additionally, I have over 75 hours (some offline) in a desperate effort to find that there may be a future for this game, based on a concept that I cherish. Currently, there simply is not.

Had Marble Run been released as Early Access, this review would not be written (now, at least.) Had it been released in a complete state, or had the DEV shown more interest in improvement, I would have waited, then almost certainly praised Marble Run. (And I did buy it for two interested friends.) But nothing that has “burst full grown from the head of Zeus” (so to speak) should ever be so flawed, so incomplete, and so (seemingly) resistant to suggestion. All indications (beyond one change) are that this game may as well be chiseled in granite, as is.

Thanks for the cool game!

There are some flaws, but overall the game is very interesting. At first I could not guess as to raise the gun up. But by changing the angle of tilt I was able to send the ball across the face of the cube. It’s good exercise for the brain.

Please turn buttons items.

Good luck in the game’s development!

Super Dungeon Maker ⚒ - Fink’s Awakening (Prologue)

Super Dungeon Maker ⚒ - Fink’s Awakening (Prologue)

I have been playing this game an absolute TON.

If you drew dungeons on graph paper when you were younger, this is for you.

If you’re a fan of top down dungeon games, you’re going to be right at home with this game.

It controls similarly to Mario Maker in the dungeon create mode (recommend keyboard and mouse for that) and the gameplay is really smooth. I do recommend using a controller for playing the levels themselves though, need that controller nostalgia… need to get a classic USB controller just to give me a bit more of that feel, y’know?

I love the game. This is a dungeon creator for a zelda-like gaming experience. If you like to create dungeons and let your friends and strangers on the internet run it, then you’ll be happy with this. For a free version it comes with a lot of tools to create dungeons. Right now there are bombs, a grappling hook, a jumping feather, a shield and fins available to use. Also you can create switch riddles and also a lot of fun stuff. I did a dungeon who you just need bombs for bomb jumps and it is fun.

Fog Factory - Game Maker

I expected much more. This Game-Maker sadly suffers from a lack of ambition and creative thought. The UI design is lacking, the audio rarely works and the game is incredibly imbalanced. Hopefully in the future this can be improved, although that may take a lot of work.

Drifters Don’t Brake

Drifters Don’t Brake

Even arcade-y-er than I expected.

Enjoyable, rage inducing but just gotta memorize the track and remember to start turning before you approach or sometimes even see the turn.

Music is enjoyable but track list is so short it quickly loops, probably turning music off soon.

Worth the price and worth my time!

First impressions were quite good. Single Player and Multiplayer worked great. Some suggestions can make this game much much better, but for first try. Super happy with buy. Will update when I have some more hours in the game.

This game has really nice graphics and atmosphere but as a casual disc golf player I can say that the physics are just wrong. It seems impossible to throw proper (an)hyzers or flips, and all the discs (even drivers with little power) are rolling huge distances because the terrain does not seem to have any effect on the disc + discs do not wobble enough to stop the rolling (even PS3 Sports Champions Disc Golf is way better on these aspects). I really would like to have a good VR Disc Golf game and this could be it if only someone would fix the physics.

Legends of Eisenwald

Legends of Eisenwald

It pains me to see that such a great game only has ‘mostly positive’ reviews, whereas, in my opinion, it should have actually been ‘very/overwhelmingly’ instead of ‘mostly’. It is definitely one of my favorite games; in fact, it made my summer last year. I’ve played through it three times (including all the DLCs), twice here on Steam and once elsewhere, and I’m sure I’ll replay it at least for the fourth time.

This game is by the way the first modern RPG I’ve played, and it has also – apart from being a gorgeous experience itself – managed to draw me to the genre (I’ve always preferred playing pure adventure games and eventually strategies) and discover several other awesome games. But this one is going to remain my incomparable first love forever. :) At first I was a bit hesitant about playing it, as some reviews claimed it be too hard/confusing etc., but I cannot agree here. Once I got used to the mechanics, it was a sheer joy to play. At times, ‘Legends of Eisenwald’ can indeed be hard, especially considering your finances at the very beginning and certain fights, but I – almost utterly inexperienced in playing RPGs as I was back then – didn’t find it frustratingly tough. I think it was hard to a very reasonable degree, and I kept on feeling rewarded by the narrative through the whole game.

Okay.. phwoa!!… long game. Just finished it - in at around 100 hours - Final Fantasy eat your heart out. A few late nights let me tell you. I feel that this game deserves the time and effort for me to write at least something about it and how I felt about it even if to just say it was a good game. But I will do more because I felt this game really was something special and I have derived so much enjoyment from it that it is the least I could do.

I bought this game on sale for a few pennies (I can’t remember now but I think it was for under $5) and didn’t really have too high hopes for it considering its price and look but was then completely overturned in my opinion by what is essentially a really great game that in no wise is properly represented by its appearance. DON’T judge a book by its cover! Boy, don’t judge this book by its cover, it is a great game for what its worth. I think this game goes for around $20 more or less on steam and that is about the right price for this game. You won’t regret parting with that hard earned cash. If you see this game for anything less than $10 buy it straight away, don’t hesitate, you won’t regret it. You might ask if it is such a great game why is it only worth $20 dollars? Well that is what I will attempt to explain.

That didn’t work for me. I got caught and got fired for it. They put a younger, prettier assistant in my place. But I doubt she types as fast as I do. They were the ones who lost

On the one hand, I really want to give the game a thumbs up for a creative and somewhat neat idea for a really cheap price.

On the other hand, though, I really must give it a thumbs down for not offering much at all, even at this price level plus thirty percent off; because in the end, cheap does just not justify bland.

I do enjoy any just semi-rewarding grinding game for a while, but looking at the short time invested here, I had rather counted cars drive by my window - even if the game had been for free. Where the game mechanics in any way challenging or rewarding, it would be a different story. However, it is random key bashing in it’s dullest form.
