Warning: Ignore ALL troll reviews that will downvote this game just because it’s missing X-Men and Fantastic 4. If you’re going to read a review, it should be from someone who isn’t stuck on the characters that are missing but the quality of content and the actual experience the game provides.

If you played the first game, you probably know that it easily gave you 40-100 hours worth of stuff to do. I’m happy to say that this game goves you 120-200 hours worth of stuff if you want to 100% the game. The game basically has twice the content of the first game.

Not quite Secret Wars, but this’ll do
This is a fine entry in the long running series of Lego games which serve dual purposes. On one hand, the Lego games are easy pick up and play action games that can really be enjoyed by any age, from little kids to grown ups. On the other hand, the main franchise from Traveler’s Tales also serves as fanfare for a number of intellectual properties, ranging from DC comics to Jurassic Park to Star Wars, and more. And of course, Marvel comics.
This entry is stacked. With a roster of over 230 characters in the base game to unlock, and an additional 60+ characters with the DLC added, there is bound to be some superheroes and villains in this game that might pique even the most jaded Marvel fanboys interest.

Another Lego game, and another game based off of a movie. And this one is pretty good all things considered. I’ll be listing off various things about this game that I liked/ didn’t like, and the features that it does and doesn’t have, so chances are I’ll hopefully answer any questions one may have about this game before buying it. So let’s begin.
The story: If you’ve seen the movie, you’ve pretty much seen the game. It even uses clips from the movie in place of cutscenes, which works to some degree but I’ll touch on that later. As such, the main story follows that of the film, and while it does leave some things out, it also places a lot in. For instance, you get a lot more character with Jay when you play as him and Lloyd in the second act. And it makes the film just a little bit weaker in comparison, and I kinda like that, as I mentioned before, it gives him a bit more character. There are other scenes like that, but sadly not many.

LEGO® Batman™ 3: Beyond Gotham
Although not the best of the Batman series (I believe the first one cannot be beat), this is pretty enjoyable.
Things I like

Character Roster. The roster has a lot of variety and plenty of people to chose from. I feel though maybe taking out some of the generic lanterns and putting more iconic lanterns instead as rewards would’ve been cooler.

ADAM WEST. Probably my favorite part, I really liked thses rescue missions and the special mission. These are the very deffinition of charming.
-Flying. The controls are a definite improvement over the last one, at least the one on the Wii (aka take this with a grain of salt)

As I write this review the Arrow DLC still has yet to drop so I’m basing this on having 100% this game with the current three dlcs out with the season pass. First and foremost let me say how much I hated the storyline in this game. For me it was the worst of all the lego games I’ve played (the other Batmans, Harry Potter, Marvel, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, Lego Movie). I will admit my biggest problem is that I’m not a big DC person. I only like a few characters and Batman is one of them so when I buy a game called Lego Batman I expect the storyline to be promeniently about Batman. This wasn’t that. This was Lego Green Lantern or Lego DC Universe but it wasn’t Lego Batman. I realize that they probably called it that to make more money but it really irks me. Don’t get me wrong I still had fun with the game, as I do with all the lego games. I was just really looking forward to a batman centric story. That being said I did not run into as many glitches as others have complained about. I also played this game with the XBOX wired controller for Windows and never had a single problem with the controls as some other people have said. The controller worked fine for me and I played all nearly 70 hours with it.

Childproofing Jurassic Park
While LEGO is famously kid-friendly, Jurassic Park flicks are monster movies where giant lizards devour unsuspecting victims, which is why many of the more violent scenes were toned down to make them family friendly. For example, the death of Donald Gennaro – the lawyer who gets eaten by a t-rex on the toilet – is still shown here, but he’s spat out after apex predator’s fight against a raptor. Zara Young, meanwhile, stays devoured by the mosasaurus & plays cards with other characters in its belly. That said, even though the developers managed to elude graphic scenes, they failed to edit out the “adult” language.

NOTE: I noticed a few comments on this review. Please note that this is an old review. I have not played this game in a long time. It was in an unacceptably dire state the last time I played, and I don’t plan on coming back to it. Some have claimed that the issues mentioned here have been fixed. I can’t confirm if this is true or not, but I did say that if this game receives a patch, then I’d recommend it. So keep that in mind, please. Thank you. 3

LEGO® MARVEL’s Avengers
Let me just put it this way:
This and LEGO(R) MARVEL Superheroes are two equal and opposite sides of the same coin.
One is open city play Manhattan. One is open PLANET play Earth, plus a piece of the Nine Realms thrown in for fun.
One is utterly Original Story, with all the Classic Characters LEGO-ified from the Fantastic Four to Deadpool, the other is Carbon-Copy of the Cinematic Universe.
It Includes as much of the Netflix and ABC shows as possible while neglecting some obvious things from the previous game including the lack of return of even Deadpool Red Bricks, which is super obviously due to this game being prepared before everything was finalized for MARVEL to be allowed to make Deadpool and get Spider-Man into Civil War. Yes, this game is a MARVEL game with no Spider-Man, but with a team of ‘Defenders’ that includes neither Namor, Hulk, nor Doctor Strange.

First things first. DEADPOOL ISN’T IN IT. GET OVER IT. DOWNLOAD ONE OF THE VARIOUS MODS TO GET HIM IN GAME AND MOVE ON. The reasons why. Marvel Studios doesn’t have the right to Deadpool and Spider-man’s rights were still up in the air at the time of development for this game. Ergo no Deadpool. The End. Get some ice-cream to help get over it. But Spidey’s DLC is a thank you to the players of Lego Marvel’s Avengers so FREE Spidey DLC. And even though it was free for PlayStation, a couple of bucks for the Civil War pack is absolutely fine

Lego Star Wars III - The Clone Wars follows the TV series: Star Wars - The Clone Wars. How well it does, I don’t know, as I haven’t regularly watched the show. It did, however, let me play through the very few parts of the show I remembered, so I’ll have to leave how well it followed the show to the assumption that it does a decent job.
As for the level design, there are plenty of good levels in this game, but are sadly overshadowed by the abundance of strategic open battlefield levels. You have to destroy enemy bases and build your own. It’s fun and makes for a great side activity to be included (as it did in the game’s Republic Assault missions) but it’s also put in place of some of the actual story missions which just seems a bit lazy to me.

Okay, I loved this game. I thought it was the best LEGO game I’ve ever played… At least until I unexpectedly hit the end of the game right at the end of The Desolation of Smaug. I thought it was the complete game, I didn’t bother to read any reviews and so was very annoyed/angry when I hit the equivalent of a brick wall going at 70 mph because I thought I still had a whole third of the game to still get through.
Of course they did put enough sidequests and characters in that I’m still working on 100% completion but I still felt quite cheated and betrayed when I found out that there was no Battle of the Five Armies, and no plans for a DLC ever. =,(

LEGO® Worlds
Update: New update to the game and controls. While better, it doesn’t fix any of the complaints I had. This game would be playable with 1) customizable controls (keyboard shortcuts), 2) ability to remember what weapon/tool I was using before I switched 3) some light source which isn’t replaced by a tool/weapon. Connectivity would be a bonus…
Original: Would have preferred it stayed the old way during beta… with open worlds. It is fun for a while, mostly because I am a bit of a completionist on collections. My son played during beta and asked me to play with him, so I bought this thinking it was like what we saw before… it isn’t but I could live with that with better controls and connectivity.

The in-game map is awful. They tried to make it look like lego, but honestly you can’t really tell anything from it. I get that they were going for “everything is lego” but sometimes you need to choose function over form.

Blockland
I have been playing this game for 10 years now, and this is my attempt at an actual, objective based view of Blockland.
When it comes to gameplay, Blockland is what I consider to be the best lego-based sandbox building game to ever be released. theres no strings attached. you click “start a game” and you are almost immediately thrown into a blank slate and are free to build whatever you want, however you want, when you want. Whatever brick, item, or vehicle is not provided by default, the community’s faithful addon creators have provided for you. Blockland also comes with a intuitve and dynamic eventing system which allows you to assign functions to bricks. This game also supports gamemode functionality. You can host freebuilds, deathmatches, treasure hunts, and even community created gamemodes such as falling tiles, jailbreaks, drawing games, parties, development servers, RPGs, and more.

Due to this game’s hard-coded limitations, the concept could only be taken so far. But, considering the base technology that it runs on (old Source engine, I think?) Eric and the gang did a great job with this game.
I have many happy, sad, beautiful, ugly, and downright crazy memories playing it. I wouldn’t trade any of them for the world.
I would say, as cheesy as it might sound, that the experiences that this game gave me really did shape me as a person, and is jointly responsible for who I am today. I’m not kidding. Many may feel the same way.

LEGO® DC Super-Villains
One of the best lego games I’ve played in years. This game has it all. A spectacular customizer that’s only limited by your imagination, really fun characters to play as, and easily the best story campaign out of any lego game ever made. With fantastic performances from Mark Hamill, Clancy Brown, and more recognizable DC voice actors who reprise their roles from their previous work on other DC animated shows. Plus, this campaign has some of the best level design out of any lego game as well, with many of them having puzzles and challenges that aren’t super hard but aren’t super easy either. It makes a perfect balance that makes the game so accessible to anybody.

Lego DC Super Villains is essentially Traveller’s Tales’ very own original adaptation of the Forever Evil DC Comics storyline. Featuring the Injustice League, League Of Doom, Justice League and a couple surprises. This is the first Lego game all about the bad guys, so this is NOT Lego Batman 4, nor is it meant to replace it. This is more of an evolution of the Villains level section in the very first Lego Batman game, and that is a good thing for many reasons.
If you’re familiar with Lego games, you probably already know that every Lego game has something that sets it apart from other Lego games. Lego DC Super Villains goes a bit further with this though. So… What exactly is different this time around?
