One thing is for certain : This game has the most features I’ve seen implemented in a RPGmaker game both in and out of combat.

Ne no Kami - The Two Princess Knights of Kyoto Part 2
Part 2 of the Visual Novel is as action and story rich as the first part.
With a ending twist with the last part, and a intense battle on the start of the second part, with an even more deeper story buiding with all the events and hint gathering, the story continues its fascinating way towar the hardest of the emotions, be itlovee, be it pain, or even sadness and Bloodspread. The events take quite a harsch turn of pace, which deepens aswell the resolve of the young generation.
The twist between humor and seriousness akes it a very lively, yet grabbing story which captivates any reader in an amazing adventure.

Good shit. A pretty significant upgrade from the first game; plot and characterization were both very strong and the yuri scenes (do purchase the accompanying uncensor patch from denpasoft) were significantly sexier. I’m definitely hyped for (a potential?) part 3.
Regarding the ending, although part 2 does leave room for continuation, it comes to a much more concrete/complete ending point compared to the cliffhanger from part 1, in a sense completing in arc. For readers worried about being left on the brink of a story that never gets finished I would say that no longer applies to this series.

apartment: a separated place
There are a lot of ‘break up’ games and this is by far one of the best I’ve ever played. There’s a sophistication and maturity to the storytelling that’s hard to find. Relationships are never simple and each of the vignettes explore the complexities of relationships that fall apart, never come together, or eventually find a way to work. The design of each vignette combined with the story it’s telling is one of the best aspects of this game.
There’s a meditative quality when playing–where I found myself reflecting on my own relationships as I played. May and Rose’s stories were probably the most moving and interesting–with truly unique interactions exploring losing or finding the person for you.

While not perfect, this game still has a story to tell. I found the progression within the main story satisfying, with little touches which enhance the world around you. For me, some of the vignettes are stronger than others but overall they were a pleasing break from the main arc while remaining familiar enough.
Having waited some years for this game I do feel like I wanted more “meat on the bones” with Nick and Madison’s story. The ending did feel a bit sudden and I was left wanting more. For some people this will be perfect and they’ll appreciate the short, sad and sweet nature.

Fatal Twelve
This game kicked my heart in the d***. Every. Single. Time.
With that said, let’s break it down.
Visuals:
There’s a good amount of visuals here, given the number of characters in the game. Some stunning, some sad, but all are good.
Voice Acting:
They have a good pool of talent, I thought until they started crying. I’m not entirely convinced that most of the VAs know how to cry, but that’s the only bad thing I have to say about them. Well, that and pain. They’re not good at that either. Apart from that, they’re believable, and play their roles extremely well.

FATAL TWELVE is a Visual Novel lasting around 20 hours. You basically play as Shishimai Rinka, who gets its fate of being killed altered and lands in a battle between 12 people called “Divine Selection”, in which only 1 will ultimately survive.
tl;dr: A nice round up VN, where you can make a couple of choices leading to 7 different endings in total. The character depth is what this game is about.
Story:
The deadly survival game is explained right at the beginning. Though not all of its mechanics are very clear then, but you get to know them throughout the game. Each of the 12 participants of Divine Selection comes with 3 cards: Name - Cause of Death - Regret. Since only 3 at random are given to each participant and their causes of death undone, they have to learn these 3 cards from others to be able to eliminate them for good. You learn about this game lasting merely 12 weeks, so you always know exactly at which point you are through the entirety of the game. The mindset of our protagonist greatly depends of its relation to others, which will be the main point of making choices. You realise very early where the main story arcs will lead you, so the outcomes aren´t very surprising, though a narration style, beautiful artworks and character depths make up for it. The actual outcome might be known, but the details make this VN very thrilling nonetheless.

Lucah: Born of a Dream
So. Lucah: Born of a Dream is hands-down the best character action title I’ve ever played, and a game I will easily place near the top of my GotY list for 2018. Here’s why.
Gameplay
Lucah’s gameplay is absurdly polished, not much by indie standards, but for character action/action adventure standards period. The systems in place all feel incredible to use, and feel very meticulously crafted and refined to cater to a variety of different playstyles. Not only does it pay (incredibly good) homage to games like Bayonetta, Dark Souls and Hyper Light Drifter by means of it’s combat and general gameplay, I would happily say it gives them a run for their money.

This is the only game I’ve ever backed on kickstarter using my own money so far. I told myself I’d wait until the game released to actually play it but when the developer sent me my beta key I immediately launched into playing it and kept going until I finished it. What you need to understand about this game going in is that it’s not the game you’re probably expecting from its packaging. You see a stamina bar, experience that doubles as currency, checkpoints that heal and allow levelling up, and you probably go to “oh this is a soulslike” but the reality here is that it’s more in line with a character action game. The soulslike mechanics are more like a flavoring to the bayonetta/DMC/metal gear rising sort of feeling you’re going to get from this game’s combat. The control scheme is even nearly identical to that of Bayonetta’s.

Mizuchi 白蛇心傳
Bought this on the Steam Autumn Sale, and glad I did. This has a very beautiful story with gorgeous music, backgrounds, and atmosphere. The two romances are wonderful (though in different ways), and this is one of the best yuri visual novels I could name. As others have said, the nudity feel more sensual than sexual, and the slow burn is handled very well.
My only real criticism is the game discusses some traumas that might hit too close to home for some players.
a) While the official synopsis is the heroine is rescued by the white snake goddess as she’s about to be executed for a crime she didn’t commit, it leaves out that the “crime” in question is she caught her fiance in the arms of another man, then he fled just as another villager happened by, so she got tried for “adultery” in his stead. I was worried the game would be mildly homophobic to men due to this depiction, though the heroine DOES come to see things from her fiance’s POV, so my fears were alleviated. (Just letting anyone know who might be upset by that.)
