The Bounty has to be one of the most unique games I’ve ever played. Myself coming from Nex Machina and Pacman 256. I needed another high scoring nostalgia type of game. And this is where the Bounty comes in. This is not your ordinary RPG game. It’s a high scoring RPG. A humorous one at that. This is described as a Dragon Quest type of game. Which could be true but I’ve never played those. But this game reminds me of nes classics like Zelda, Final Fantasy and Uncle fester’s quest(music wise). The music is really good in this game. Really captures the feel of the 8 bit era. The game is not super hard but challenging enough. The puzzles really challenge your common sense. I can even use a Dog whistle to signal a partner for my battle. Overall. It’s a fun game. I recommend playing this especially for $4.99. It’s really worth it.

Lamia Must Die

Lamia Must Die

(If TL;DR, then watch my less eloquent review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mho_vEQHzIw )

I spent a long time trying to elaborate on what I want to say about this game, but after hours of thinking, I realized it would be best if I put it thusly:

1.This game’s mechanics are really good and consistent with little to no gameplay glitches

2.The graphics look nice but are not accurately displayed or scaled correctly in a consistant manner at any resolution it offers

3. Voice actor audio can cut out but at least it’s consistent when it does (ie the same audio cuts off in a cutscene no matter how many times you play through it)

Lamia Must Die. . .Eventually. . . Just as soon as I stop dying.

Lamia Must Die is a game of adventure wherein you are not just one person but rather four people. You can change two of your party members and their styles are definitely unique. You adventure into a dungeon and skip all the trash tier monsters completely. The only game play is a big epic boss battle.

Graphics and Art

The graphics are not that good, but it’s excuseable. This game runs mainly on artwork and pictures anyway and it’s played through various GUI’s, which all look and feel rather fluid and work well. The artwork itself is rather nice and sometimes kind of mediocre, though certainly better than I could care to draw. I’m not completely convinced that some of the pictures of the characters drawn were drawn by the creators of the game or anyone they hired. I don’t think they were commissions and rather just something free. If they were drawn by the creators then I ask why there is no consistency in the art work. Some of it looks great while others look like it was drawn by a complete ametuer who had way too much interest in tits. I of course refer primarily to Lamia.

One Way Heroics

One Way Heroics

It’s been a while since I’ve played the base game, so this review might contain some bits from the DLC.

First of all, this game is a relatively simple roguelike with a twist: the world is constantly being consumed from the left, forcing the player to continue moving to the right. The base objective for winning is to defeat the Demon Lord, who will generally pop up to fight you after certain amounts of time has elapsed and retreat in a bit if neither is dead. There’s a couple of other winning conditions available, but it’s definitely a spoiler. The Plus DLC adds some alternate campaigns to fighting the Demon Lord, which increases the winning conditions even more.

So, I bought this game a long time ago thinking it was going to be a game where I ran in one direction trying to stay alive.

I was not disappointed in the slightest.

One-way Heroics offers some of the dumbest, funniest, and rediculous gameplay I have ever seen from a rouge-like game.

Slight spoilers below, you have been warned

-Hey, I know you’re new, but you’re supposed to save the world from the left side of the screen since this is sidescrolling and all, and for some reason the left side of the screen is eating everything. GOOD LUCK!

Dark Deity

Dark Deity

I want to start this by saying that I DID enjoy the game… but I don’t think I could recommend it in a lot of cases. There are many reasons why for this, but at the moment I think that I’d want to start with the things I did like about the game, because there are a good few things I enjoyed.

Things I liked:

-Spritework. The animations of characters and attacks did actually blow me away from time to time. Was always excited to see what new animations I would get from a new class, or for the spellcasters, getting their spells ranked up.

Dark Deity takes its inspiration from Fire Emblem games, generally. Here are the pros and cons:

Pros:

Sprite animations are great.

Movement ranges are visible and easily determinable.

Weapon damage output, hit chance, and crit chance are all clearly visible based on your chosen weapon.

Leveling up characters is fun, and you have multiple options for modding the game in terms of XP, GOLD, and STAT start.

Cons:

-Loading screens. Holy moly, anywhere between 4-7 loading screens (requiring around 5-10 seconds of loading time each) between given battles. It’s nuts. A loading screen before the save screen. A loading screen before the dialogue cutscene. A loading screen before the actual battle. Absolutely bonkers and annoying. Please fix this, it’s fucking stupid.

We Are Live

We Are Live

I’m new to RougeLite games, so it took me a run or two to catch on. I really like the random encounters and rewards. But you also have options to shape your run. Together you need to think about your strategy for each run. I have not made it past the second level yet… I’m convinced spell crafting is the key and I get better each time.

All in all I think this game is fun, cute (in a pixel-heart kind of way), and mildly addicting (so far).

I genuinely enjoyed my time so far in We Are Live, it has some innovative features to bring to the table while also keeping what makes a classic Roguelite. My favorite notable feature would be the spell creation mechanic where you’re able to find “nodes” which can be crafted into various spells, allowing a more or less infinite amount of unique spell combinations. The story is also intriguing and kept me pushing forward time after time to get to the next new bits of lore or dialogue. It’s not a huge game but certainly not too small either, it’s a great medium experience as a fair price point!

Mutiny Island

Mutiny Island

This game could be so much better. I have warped to grey screen death countless times. I camped while being attacked by a skeleton, woke up on Davy Jones' ship surrounded by the undead, and glitched to the starting warp. Jumped through many stone walls diagonally, and fought tigers from vantage point because of it. In my short time with this piece i have seen so many classic mishaps that that in itself is making me appreciate it more.

It’s $8, buggy as hell and absolutely wonderful.

This game is deceptively simple when you begin, but, there are a lot of hidden little things that go on that never get told about, like Luck being important because you’ll get more uniques that can outclass your stat mods, or affinity affecting not only your defense against that element of entity (hint, stack at least 3 ore of 1 type per element you’re facing, and include the one that the faced element does less damage to because the entities will use both info on="" that="" is="" in="" the="" pause="" menu="" under="" affinities="" ). /info

Running Man 3D Part2

Running Man 3D Part2

“If you want to relax and rest, this game is for you.Go through the levels collecting all the balls and soon run to the finish.Good luck!”

Well, it’s not the case. Apart from the fact that it should be mandatory to put a space after a full stop..

Anyways.

According to the developers, this game is “very simple” - collect all the dollars, overcome the obstacles, reach the finish line.

In fact, this is an extremely minimalistic platforme, indie from the very beginning - i.e. an awful pink main menu screen that looks like it’s been designed on MS Paint 20 years ago.

Real player with 165.9 hrs in game

I really liked the first part but this one is mess compared to that one. The changes:

-There are now boosters in the game, that you can get so you can jump higher or run faster for 5 seconds. But I just don’t like those.

-You have to collect coins, which is not a change. But these coins block you or slow you down sometimes. It feels really buggy and it randomly messes up your tries.

-The music is improved! I like that a lot.

-There is one less camera viewpoint (the one to look from the side which was really nice for small jumps between slim objects)

We Are The Caretakers

We Are The Caretakers

This game is a great concept, and the Afro-futurist aesthetic adds a layer of depth I did not expect. Yes, it is early access/beta, so there’s bugs, but the dev team is available nearly 24/7 to discuss problems and hear feedback. This is indie game development done right, and what is already a good game will be an outstanding final product as a result. Think of the early access purchase as a long term investment that is going to pay off soon!

tldr: buy this. support indie games, and immerse yourself in Afro-futurist sci-fi!

One of my friends said this game is sci-fi super soldier park rangers and that is spot-on.

The combat is a blast. The game is still buggy in early access but that doesn’t block it from being a beautiful and fun experience. Also - that music, man. So. Good.

Check it out if you like: Final Fantasy-esque combat and graphics and music, Divinity Original Sim’s combat, rhinos, park rangers

Twilight Wars: Declassified

The second half of the 21st century. Major international corporations have got out of control of governments and thrown off the shackles of law and morality. Now each of them is a state.

Due to the absence of a deterrent, industrial espionage, theft of technology, and the assassination of rivals are becoming frightening. In the shadow of a quiet everyday life, a full-scale war for information, technologies and resources is unfolding.

The only opponent of the new masters of the world was the Anonymous Arbitration Agency (Triple-A), an independent secret service created to protect people from corporate madness and to regulate their twilight wars from the shadows. However, the activity of Triple-A interfered with too many - in a swift attack, the unknown assailants destroyed all the bases and neutralized almost all the operatives.

The only survivors are Shi - the artificial intelligence that runs the organization - and you. The future fate of the Agency and the whole world depends on you two!
