Caapora Adventure - Ojibe’s Revenge

Caapora Adventure - Ojibe’s Revenge

It nice to see the Brazilian culture represented by a game. I love the puzzles and the unique 3D cartoon style! If you like Zelda-like games you will love this one! Highly Recommended!

Really good adventure game about brazilian folklore, a theme not that much explored. The basic mechanics reminds me old Zelda titles! Exploring previous areas with new abilities and finding all feathers and others collectibles is fun! Recomended!

The Dream is Coming…

The Dream is Coming…

“The Dream is Coming…” is a vibrant walking simulator that has you explore an empty Schoolyard and its various building as you find notes, diary entries and clues to follow.

The notes contain little bits of lore surrounding your character and his group of friends. Your character will also have memories revealed when he enters rooms or comes close to certain objects. A text to speech voice will read a sentence or 2 about some mundane thing he remembers about Chemistry class or the first time he met a friend. I honestly didn’t mind the text to speech voice, it’s actually not a bad sounding text to speech program. The main issue is the translation, it’s not translated the greatest. It’s hard to understand the relationship between certain characters when all you have to go on is little bits of choppy lore translated poorly. You are able to get a grasp of the overall story but the little details get lost and with a game like this, that is kind of important. A game like this is nothing but story and visuals (which isn’t a bad thing) but you’re really only left with the visuals as a completed piece. The bits of story you can gather tell a simple tale of a group friends and their after school club. The various memories of simple times and the struggles some face, it fits the atmosphere well.

I was intrigued by the description as I wanted to know how in depth this indie game would go into the lives, thoughts and struggles of students. But I was left most disappointed.

Pros:

→ The music is beautiful.

→ Half of the graphics were unexpectedly brilliant for an indie game; the sky, the breezy grass, the pavement and some items indoors, especially the signs and writing.

→ The afternoon setting sun set the tone perfectly.

→ Songbird ambience in the schoolyard was very relaxing.

Cons:

→ ‘Interesting stories’ in the description is misleading.

! For example; at one point we pass a bicycle in the schoolyard and the ‘story’ is legit: “My father’s bike. After he drank, he stopped using it.” And that’s all we get. It’s more like random facts being spewed out that has no meaning to the story at all (?).

Evil Maze 2 | 惡魔迷宮 2

Evil Maze 2 | 惡魔迷宮 2

Long overdue review, Evil Maze 2 expands on the original Evil Maze game and it’s rogue dungeon elements. With more dungeon levels and items the game offers a lot more secrets to discover and overall replay value. Granted, I don’t think it’s as difficult as the original, as once you know the location of certain items well enough to consistently get them the game becomes very easy so long as you’re not reckless and get that heal spell.

The pixel artstyle is cute and colorful enough, though not much in animation on their own, with the cut scene artwork being good and generally an improvement of the first games style, though perhaps not as good as a full on VN.

“Evil Maze 2 - Suhaya : Wow, Whait is it? _ )/"

The above sentence is the cute expression of the heroine you will see most frequently in this game. Evil Maze 2. It’s the latest roguelike game made by ZOV GAME STUDIO. This game was created with the RPG Maker tool, but more interesting than expected. Especially improved than its previous game Evil Maze . The atmosphere is vibrant overall, and the illustration is even more lovely .

I saw the name of the game and its summary and I just had to see the mystery for myself! The design is nice and the music reminds me of a Russian ballad/dance. I like the pretty graphics and the search option and well pretty much I like everything. I wont spoil much of anything, because it will be mean… however, that was SO WONDERFUL! Thank you! I will definitely send this game to a person who is in need of such a game. :D

Of course I saw the news about upcoming DLCs and got excited! I look forward to them. Now off to recommend/send people the game. Thank you kindly so much for it!!! :D : ^-^

I did not enjoy myself while playing this game. The dark theme was a nice touch compared to the usual bright RPGmaker games but that didn’t carry the game enough for me to enjoy this. You start at level 10? on the bottom of what I can only guess is a 10 floor dungeon. I got to the 3rd (7th) floor before I stopped playing

The combat is a simple swing harder and faster than the enemy before it kills you, that’s kind of the theme with most RPG games but in this game you seem to take damage from out of nowhere, and the enemies have no swing animations. This makes it really hard to know where it is safe to stand and what is damaging you. On top of all this, some enemies are massive damage sponges, I was swinging into a 200 health normal enemy doing 7 damage and not every attack was hitting.

Intro

EvilMaze is a hack and slash RPG Maker game with a heroine with big boobs. The only character potrait that this game has is the heroine and both of her potrait and sprite will change based on her equipments. Most of the equipments will have a lack of clothes. On the other side, there are a lot of hidden “secrets” in this game.

The Village

The Village

The art direction is beautiful.

On the other hand the difficulty is not well proportioned… The mazes are very hard, the shadows are too strong compared to the number of life points, the objects are too well hidden. And the game does not give much information about what to do.

(I don’t see any solution on internet…)

Nevertheless I recommend the game for the atmosphere !

The game is really beautiful: the maps, the music and the texts. On the other hand, we are a bit lost in the main story. And the dark areas are very very difficult.

Very Enjoyable and Well worth your time.

Disclosure I received a free copy of this game as a Media Tester and reviewer. My opinion is my own and was not compensated in any way for a positive review

I have spent a good deal of time in this game and i have enjoyed every minuet of it. The classic turn based style brings back the good old days of real retro RPGs. The art style reminds me of old DOS games at times and Old NES games at others. The battles have feelings of Dragon Warrior/Quest and Final Fantasy Mystic quest, with one button move shortcuts the action is fast paced. The exploration to find all the secrets will have you hunting at every stage. The music tho. OMG THE MUSIC I LOVE IT. it has such a fresh feel. The sound effects and the battle themes make me feel like i am playing Final Fantasy Legend on the Gameboy. It is such a great game and is well worth even more then the price is asking. You dont want to miss out on this game. Do yourself a favor and put it in your library. You will not regret it.

Indie devs have an impossible job of trying to find the line between just how much of the classics to replicate and what to build upon, improve, and alter. Pillars of Dust really does a great job of correctly identifying those elements and it reflects in this SNES era RPG style with the modern quality of life improvements I desired for games of that time period.

Pillars of Dust approaches turn based RPGs with an obvious flare of SNES era inspiration. The combat, story telling, sound, aesthetic, and even all the way down to the animation of NPCs really nails the early Dragon Quest feel for me.

Fairune Collection

Fairune Collection

Fairune 1: A very stripped-down action-RPG, very short and lacking in plot but with fairly good music and visuals. However, it is more basic and less difficult than Fairune 2, so I recommend playing this before that.

Fairune 2: An expansion on Fairune 1 in every way. There are now far more areas, boss fights, fixed damage enemies that give no experience but some of which stay defeated forever, deeper mixes of enemies, more strategy that comes from stronger enemies still being defeatable, multi-level skills, far more creative puzzles, modestly improved visuals, more, better, longer and more upbeat music tracks, a far deeper plot, and a longer, better and harder final boss.

Lots of secrets and has that difficulty that makes it amazing. Lots of cool achievements for the people that love collecting them. RPG feeling 8-bit game with puzzles to progress. I cannot express how much this was WORTH the money! The achievements just keep you going!

edit: There are bugs at times, so all I can say is SAVE NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO! but it’s still an amazing game. (Also some of the achievements are bugged, in a good way though)
