Bullet Girls Phantasia

Bullet Girls Phantasia

The achievements are grindy, but the overall gameplay is enjoyable. At first, I was not all to in to the story till about chapter 4, it took a while for the pace of the story to take my interest.

The game is a 3rd person shooter with some controlled sexual elements. The sexual elements consists mainly stripping and teasing. The teasing portion of the game is set in another portion of the game called Intensive Drilling. There is solo, double, and reverse Intensive Drilling’s. Solo is with one of the ladies, double is with two ladies, and reverse is when a lady teases you instead.

Nothing is going to come of this, because nowadays when it comes to game developers and game publishers no matter what because anime inspired games more likely than others seem to be nothing but cut, copy, paste, slap together, and forget for the rest of the games existence ill start with things that really need changed to improve the overall games experience, some of these are opinionated but I’m sure a good majority others would agree with.

Needs:

  • Improve “Buddy’s” AI to be more than just a toaster and possibly move around a little while firing so that they aren’t always sitting ducks needing to be saved (I don’t care if it’s technically not required and the game isn’t particularly difficult to even need one, but if there’s going to be AI partners at least have them actually try to be of assistance).

Hero Soul: I want to be a Hero!

Hero Soul: I want to be a Hero!

Taken from the banned texts in the Imperial Library

Long ago, on the small continent of Altaria, two races mastered the art of magic. The first were the elves mastering the magics of life known as astral magic. The second were the demons mastering the magics of death known as umbral magic. The elves, fearing umbral magic, banded with the the other races on a crusade to wipe out the demon race. The crusade was all too successful, leading to the extinction of the demon race. The elves no longer contested, ruled Altaria forming the Altarian Empire.

Present Day

Knowledge of the demon race and umbral magic have all been forgotton. The elves rule over Altaria and occupy the nobility of the empire, while the humans and beastmen that helped them remain commoners in the empire.

Cecilia Grey is your less than average human commoner. Her father is a member of a civilian organization known as the adventurer guild, and unlike many girls her age, she wants to join the guild to follow in his footsteps. How will her adventure unfold?

#### Mixing Roguelite and JRPG Genres!

Ever wonder what would happen if a story driven JRPG mixed with a rouge-lite? Does that even work? Hero Soul started as an experimental project to explore this concept where I tried smashing the two together, and the result… well you’ll have to judge for yourself.

#### What can I expect?

Hero Soul is a 2D pixel ARPG, which incorporates traditional RPG/JRPG gameplay with rogue-lite elements. Like traditional rogue-lites, gameplay is broken into runs or small sessions. Each session will be similar but not the same as the last. The story will progress as you do more runs and Cecilia will grow stronger as well!

#### Features

- Procedurally generated levels

The landscape of Altaria is always shifting, and no two levels will be alike. Experience increased replay-ability with procedurally generated levels, quests, and monsters! No level or run will be exactly the same and no story will be either!

- Customizable spell system

In Hero Soul you can cast spells in addition to your normal attacks. As you play you will discover spell cards to add to your collection. You may then pick and choose which spell cards to use. Spell effects vary so experiment to find which cards suit your play style.

- Modular skill trees

While the game’s name is Hero Soul, the Hero Soul also refers to the modular talent tree system that handles your character’s skills and talents. This system allows you to mix and match different hero archetypes to create your ideal hero. Heroes are are discovered randomly as you progress thorough the game.

Leafling

Leafling

Leafling itself is a interesting game to say the least. The concept of it is great, really well thought out and over all a great game. The people who run the game are a COMPLETELY different story. The fact that they can ban you for simply asking for ETA (82 days waiting on 3 items.) on custom items that you have paid for is beyond me. They give you timelines of when you should be expecting them and fall back on those promises. They continue to “forget” to give people items that they have paid for(when they have the items apparently finished) and then blame the customer for “back charging”. It is clear to me why people who have purchased those items back charge as you simply just do not get what you paid for. Would love to support the game and see it grow but with developers such as Aesthetic make the game so unplayable due to her toxic mindset is just disgusting. It really pains me to have to leave such a negative review but the things that happened regarding Aesthetic just make the whole experience a dumpster fire.

DRAGON QUEST HEROES™ II

DRAGON QUEST HEROES™ II

There’s not a lot I can say about this game that hasn’t already been said. It has mixed reviews for a reason. The story is, in my opinion, a huge step up from Heroes, or perhaps it’s just that the whole ‘the power of friendship will save the world!!!’ theme tends to make me cringe away from even the best games. Anyways.

The graphics and such, I can’t speak well about. My PC’s old, so I have turn almost all settings down to low.

The actual gameplay is… Well, it’s both better and worse than the original.

I.) The Basics

Dragon Quest Heroes™ II, or DQH2 for short, is a so-called Musou game, where you battle hordes of weak enemies with a few stronger enemies mixed in to make matters more interesting, as well as the occaisional boss fight. This all is presented in the universe of the JRPG franchise Dragon Quest with the graphical style of manga artist Akira Toriyama of Dragonball fame.

II.) DRM

The game is protected by Steam DRM with a layer of Denuvo anti-tamper.

Okay, so hear me out before you just write me off as a hater - I love the HELL out of this game. I do recommend it, but not on the PC. And here’s why.

So, the first problem that you’ll notice is that if you have Win10, then the game, on your first launch, will tell you to run the game in Win7 Compatibility Mode. Now that’s not so bad in itself, as it works relatively fine in compatibility mode - plays decently, seldom lags during actual gameplay. Nothing too big. But then there’s the other issues.

Real player with 93.4 hrs in game

TL;DR:

It’s definitely not worth it at full price. I managed to get the game at $16 on sale and I wouldn’t recommend going much higher than that. I can’t recommend spending anymore than $20 on it. The game is deeply flawed, chock full of Defense-style missions, and a lot of uninspired questlines with no satisfying pay-off. Still, the combat was pretty smooth and I did enjoy it enough to want to continue to play it after finishing the main story.

Only pick it up if you love Dragon Quest, like Musou/Dynasty Warriors games, and see the game on sale for $20 or less. If even one of those criteria don’t apply, then skip out on this title. You aren’t missing out on any worthwhile experience.

Persona® 5 Strikers

Persona® 5 Strikers

Anyone familiar with the Warriors games will have a rough understanding of what to expect. But this time around the Persona mechanics are integrated quite well, making it a very different experience than any Warriors game before it - if anything, the much larger number of enemies than normal for a Persona game necessitates a stronger focus on the weakness system in order to maintain an advantage. And yes, Persona collection and fusion are still core mechanics as well. Overall, it lends itself to using very different tactics than a normal Persona game, and combinations I wouldn’t have really bothered with outside of this game. The story and cutscenes are completely faithful to what one would expect of Persona, and I felt were very fulfilling.

This was a fantastic game. The turn based game play was translated beautifully into this action adventure style. The stories and characters where as fun as ever and it feels like they never left. Picks up right where the last game left off. Highly recommend.

BUYER BEWARE

This game is afflicted by a myriad of glitches and problems that moderately to substantially affect and degrade the experience, including these most severe (but not limited to).

1. No latency compensation for the multiplayer (lots of rubberbanding)

2. It is impossible to get 100% of achievements fixed?

3. In multiplayer Die = Kick (Even host) and mission completion = Disband group.

4. All menu keybinds are hardbound.

Pro/con list and TL;DR at the bottom.

When this game was first announced most people hyped it up to heaven, because it promised to be the game a lot of people wanted; the hack ‘n’ slash gameplay from the previous Tamsoft spin-offs but refined, and an MMORPG-esque setting that was mandatory for the series to dabble with at some point. After waiting for this game for about a year and a half, after the despair-inducing delay the PC version suffered last year (first advertised as simultaneous release with PS4, delayed 4.5 months), and after a more than bumpy release day on Steam (~4 hours delay, technical difficulties, dissapearing launch discount, non-existant deluxe bundle, delayed trading card release), I want to say the game delivered exactly what I expected it to be and more.
